I had my daughter saturday night, there were no complications..after she took to the breast fab and she is a great sleeper. but when twice my partner has had to wake me up because i didn't hear her cry, i never had this problem with my son, every one of his movements would wake me...at the moment its not a problem as my partner is off work but he will be going back next week and im worried i wont wake up to her....this isn't normal!! mums are sapossed to wake to thier babies! its really worrying me...any advice would be great!! xx

ET is right.  Perfectly normal especially as now you have two wee ones to look after!  With DS1  I was like you-heard every little move and grunt, but with DD and DS2, it definately took me longer to wake up enough to see to them!  I wouldnt worry too much, if she really really needs you, she will definately wake you up no worries there!

i think with our first babies, we are almost afraid to sleep right in case there is something wrong, but after the first, we know that it will do no harm for our baby to cry for a few minutes longer, and that extra time will do YOU more good.

Congratulations.

Like the others said, you're just tired.Make the most of your man while he's home, rest as much as you can.Nice to have a man who hears the baby.Nothing wakes mine

Audrey's right,it does your baby no harm to cry a little.I'm sure a few moments longer you'd have woken anyway.

Just like it's an instinct to wake up when your baby cries...it's also an instinct for your body to rest.  So, all it is, as the others have said, is you being tired and your body absolutely doing the right thing and sleeping deeply. You're obviously in touch with what your own body needs....and now you're more rested for those night time wake ups!

Congratulations on your baby girl.
