stopping breastfeeding

help please-ive been trying to give up breastfeedihg 4 three months and its so hard-my daughter is hysterical everytime i try to give her a bottle-my husband hasnt been able to either-she just bites down on it-ive tried cups too but to no avail-id like to hav a glass or two of wine again and i also feel ready to hav my body back as she is nearly 7 mths-i just dont know how to go about it-shud i go cold turkey and just stop-has anyone else had this experience?

hi hun jut wondered what bottle you are giving her cause there is a great one from tommee tippee which is meant to represent a breast!! i haven't tried it myself but a couple of friends have. is she on solids yet if so maybe try uping her food intake a little to make her less hungry??? could it be the formula your using that she doesn't like? have you tried doing alternate feeding using both bottle and breast and then gradually wean her off the breast?

We used the Tommee Tippee one,it was good for changing from breast to bottle with my last two.One was 3 months,one 1 month when changing,you might find a 7 month old harder to change.My now 6 year old never had a bottle,she refused to take one at all.She went straight from breast to cup.She was taking juice from a cup so I just put formula in the cup and she would drink it like that.When she started on the formula I mixed it first part breastmilk part formula,to introduce the new taste gradually.

even tho i know she may just go from breast to cup id idealy like to give her a bottle so i can still cuddle her to feed .ive tried every teat there is! she thinks its a teether! she s a monkey-been at yhis 4 months-i actually gave up trying 4 a while then tryed again-my hv says i shud just stop but im worried that wud b cruel when she loves it so much.she s having 3 meals a day and 4 breastfeeds a day but she only weighs 13lb 9 and she nearly 7 mths

my mum went cold turkey with my sister when she was 18mnths, 3 days of tantrums and then it was over, she drank from a transistion cup
