34 week scan

I have just had my 34 week scan this morning. The midwife described my situation as being 'equivalent to full-term and carrying a baby elephant'

and that all my symptoms will only get worse until they are born.

Both girls are estimated to be 5lb 11oz. They have both put on a pound in the last fortnight which is great. They need to consider coming out soon though!

Oh Sally that's great your girls are doing so well, just a shame you are suffering.

Really they could make an appearance anytime now . You take care of yourself.

no wonder you're suffering - they're such good weights!! do they have any plans to get them out soon?! was wondering how much longer you had to go yesterday. i've got my 12 week scan tomorrow and beginning to get a bit scared..

Sorry to hear you're suffering so much, just keep telling yourself it's not long to go and i promise you it will all be worth it when you hold them in your arms!!!!

The hospital said that they would let them come now if they tried to which is reassuring. They obviously think that they would be OK if born now.

They will induce me at 38 weeks but I really don't think (hope) that will be necessary. I think that they will be here in the next couple of weeks.

I am itching like crazy so they took blood to do a liver function test (although I think it is just my skin stretching) and checking my iron levels again to see if they are up on last time. However, the babies could have been here a month by the time I get the results!

We are both so excited. He keeps telling them just to hang on until after Friday when he will have finished his big job. The carpet fitters are coming next Monday so the house has to be done by then!

thank you for the luck! hope the doctors (and your baby girls) don't make you wait til 38 weeks!! normally iron and liver function come back in a few days, but sounds like your babies are stretching you to bits! hope the carpet and house are all done in time.. at least you don't have to worry about a boiling hot summer.. you must be getting so excited! make the most of the peace and quiet xx
