Facial Hair

I'm 5 months pregnant and for about a week or so I've noticed that I seem to have a lot of facial hair.  It's very light, fine and almost, for want of a better word, downy and at a glance it's probably not very noticable to other people but in a certain light I look like a bearded lady!!!  I haven't mentioned it to anybody and nobody's said anything to me but I'm getting really self conscious about it (I have massive issues about how I look anyway which doesn't help) and I'm getting reluctant to leave the house.  I'd feel stupid going to the doctor's.  Is this normal during pregnancy and has anyone (or is anyone) suffered with this?  If so what did you do about it?  I can't afford things like electrolysis or laser treatments and I'm scared to shave it off in case it grows back thicker and darker.  <img src='/forum/smilies/sad_smiley.gif' /> 

Hiya you should just asks your midwife she will no everything about it and what to do, I no that your hair all over your body grown faster and darker when you pregnant and will settle down  once you have had your baby i wouldnt shave it off because its likey to grow back worse! Ive heard of hair lighting creams witch would make it less noticable untill it fades away after bubba arives im sure you can pick them up from boots.

Hi, when i was pregnant with holly i got a very noticble moustache and found that Boot's facial hair removing cream very affordable at £4.25 and brilliant it lasts a good 6 months too, the hair does grow back but it is fine on return.  Like Hayleigh advised i wouldn't shave it off also because chances are once baby arrives and your hormones settle down the problem will go away, its always worth mentioning it to your midwife or a Pharmasist for some more professional advice before trying any creams etc, but don't let it take away the special feeling of being pregnant i bet you look lovely.  take care x
