Hi Everyone,
i am 30 weeks preggers with my first and his movements have slowed down dramatically, I was so worried on Tuesday that I went to the hospital, the monitored his HR for 20 mins and told me everything was fine. But now he has stopped moving for a day and a half again, has anyone else experienced this?

I am sure everything is fine, babies tend to have lively and chilled out times, just like us!!! If you ring the maternity unit and explain the situation they will probably tell you to go in again to be monitored.

Have you tried the usual things like eating very sweet stuff, salty stuff, playing loud music through headphones to your bump? I was advised to do these to "wake" up Bronwyn!!! She wasn't moving when i was being monitored so the midwife brought me something sweet which made her jump into action!!!!

when I talked to my nurse on Tuesday she told me to drink something cold and sweet and lye on my back for an hour, she said if he did not move 5 times to come in and he did not move at all!!! so i went in and they told me everything was fine, i have another appointment on Monday so I am trying to hold off on goig to the emergency room again since my doctor's office is closed on weekends.

Bronwyn also responded to a hot bath!!! I took a jug to the bath with me and poured water over my bump and massaged it with oil and it never failed to rouse her!

I think Jenn that if anything is worrying you and you are not too far from hospital you can always go in and have checked. I think they usually say so many movements in a 24hr period. I expect baby has been moving but could be whilst you are asleep or sometimes just as simple as you don't notice when you are busy etc xxx

Hi everyone,
thanks for your comments I went to the doctor yesterday and he said that everything is looking wonderful for baby Preston, he said he was probably asleep and that is why I didnt feel him moving, I took some of your advice and tried taking a bath, that got him moving, my tummy looked like it was made out of jello because he was sticking arms and legs out all over the place

That's great news! Are you both OK now?
