Hi, I'm 18 weeks pregnant with my first baby so quite new to everything. I've been suffering from abdominal pain for the last two weeks. It's like a crampy pain that comes and goes and it can be really painful!.

I had a scan a couple of days ago and everything's fine. Gp and midwife say it might be the ligaments stretching. Does it hurt that much!.

anyone with same experience?

Congratulations. Pregnancy is not as easy as it looks! Once you have your baby in your arms, all the discomfort will be a distant (and fading) memory.

I'm nearly 20 weeks (with baby 4) and I'm getting a lot of ligament pain right now. Could hardly walk for a while this morning due to stabbing pains! Oh the joy : )Always worth going to the midwife though - you did the right thing.

I get them too - all down the right side of my tummy.  I'm 22 weeks pregnant and scans show no problem, so I assume it's just bits of me stretching!!   Who knew it would hurt so much?!

Just to go back as my daughter is 2 yrs now ... I think i had the same problem, but not like terrible cramps.. Its perfectly normal and it would go away as your tummy stretches.. But if you are really worried and cannot walk never hesitate Go and see your MF..
