DH and I haven't told anyone yet (too early: 7w2d) just wanted to know how went about telling your family.

PS: It's going to be grandchild number one for both sides of the family.

They will be truly over the moon and probably already know - mums have a 6th sense! If not, go for sunday dinner and tell them whilst they are relaxed and can take time to congratulate you and your partner. Me however, I've got to tell them about number 2 when my parents really really don't want me to have another (and they are serious) - how do i do it?

actually i was quite worried about telling my family i was pregnant even though id been married 8 years! it was my in-laws 30th wedding anniversary so we 'told' them by writing love from sarah, justin & bump. my father-in-law's face was a picture!
my mum had already guessed as she saw me undoing my jeans when we were at the dinner table. we worked it into conversation when they said they were going to redecorate the spare bedroom and asked what we thought they should do. i said it should be a nursery. my dad choked on a chocolate biscuit but everyone was pleased.

The day i found out i was pregnant, me and my husband decided not to tell anyone until 3 months. It was a good job we didint coz i went through a few bad times.

However, my mum rang me after a week i found out i was pregnant and ask me whether i was pregnant coz she had a dream that i had a baby boy and that he had long eye lashes.

Guess what, i have a baby boy and HE HAS LONG THICK EYE LASHES.

I was really nervous about telling the family as although my partner kind of wanted kids, I wasn't bothered, we have been together 8 years so I think that they thought it was never going to happen. The were very shocked at first but overjoyed.

My mother knew I was pregnant too before I told her. It's weird how she knew I don't know.
