Havent been swimming with my 2 recently as my local pool only allows 1 adult per 1 baby/toddler. So although I used to take my daughter swimming regularly by myself I can't do the same with my son. I am going to have to wait till she stays all day at pre-school in september. I would perhaps take a fun plastic toy with you when you go - Ethan who can be a bit nervous is happier with a plastic duck or some other bath toy.

Hi Emma, we regularly take ours swimming the youngest two both go to mum and baby lessons too. Just don't expect too much I say, and if you have to get out in 5mins be prepared. Do they have a baby pool there? They have a really shallow one near us with different toys/slide etc which is great for lo's. good luck I think its so good for them!

Hiya...a good set of armbands or a baby float seat to make them feel safe? I can't talk Hayden used to throw himself off the side before i could get his armbands anywhere near him!!!!!! He has a red racing car float seat which he loves and he had lessons from 9 months. He also refuses to get out and thats the part i hate - screaming ab dabs in the changing room!!!

I have taken Laex swimming a few times and he absolutely loves it as he can move himself in his blow up ring.

I have just taken Hollie for the first time and she loved it. We were in the pool for half an hour, and only got out because she was rubbing her eyes from tiredness.
Our pool has a session just for parents and under 3's, and they filled the pool with ducks and toys etc. She got so excited, and giggled like mad.
