"Well done Whirly"(that's Arwen's other name) is all I'm hearing these days. Two weeks ago we took away the nappies and we have success. After a week of near misses and some success she got the hang of it,so this week she finally got the Peppa Pig big girl pants and she's so pleased with herself.
To go with the big girl vest and pants of course had to be big girl pyjamas(Peppa again of course)Okay Mummy was just enjoying shopping again.
Have to confess to a bit of bribery."Well done Whirly" is very quickly followed by "Whirly needs a sweetie",but she does now know all the colours of Smarties. She's been telling me the colour of everything she sees now, turning into a bit of a show off.Still working on the shapes but it's so lovely to see them learning new things and so pleased when they do it.
All that and the big girl bed,Arwen's suddenly growing up very fast.Guess that means I have to get the poor girl's mop cut next.

Well done her! Glad to hear she's got the hang of it, makes your job easier! What's the story with the nickname?

She had lots of lovely curls when her hair first started growing. The others just called them curly wurlies. They've got a bit out of control now but I think when she gets her hair cut they'll be gone.Whirly's the name she calls herself atm,cos the others have been calling her that for a while,it just suits her.I dare say she'll remember her real name before she starts school. They've all had nicknames when they were little.
At least when the new baby arrives we'll only have two in nappies.

Both my Mum's parents had curly hair,I think Arwen's like my Nan.Matilda's are just starting to grow, when her hairs wet you can get them all nice.Arthur had them for a while when he was about 18 months but people kept thinking he was a girl, whatever I dressed him in so I cut his hair. He's growing it ATM though, won't let me cut it,unless I do a Dr Who haircut. Not quite sure where to start there!

Three of mine were born with brown eyes.My great, great ....something or other was Indian,so three of mine are dark. There's also Irish,Scottish,Welsh,English,Spanish,so I have many coloured children. It's an interesting mix of genes. That or between the window cleaner, the milkman, the postman and him down the road we've been busy.

Lol Jo! Everyone thought my brother was a girl when he was small with curly hair, and my oh as my mil tells me. I guess it's a common thing if they have nice hair.
