Frustrated

Hi,

I am 27 years old, married for 2.5 years.  My husband and I have only been ttc for 7 months, however, since we started, I have been diagnosed with PCOS, endometriosis, and have a painful cyst on my ovary.  We have pretty much been ttc through a fertility clinic from the start.

We have done one round of IUI (non-medicated) and are going to try a medicated IUI this month.  Two different doctors have told me that we likely won't conceive without IVF but I don't know what to think.  I am feeling very frustrated and I am on the fence trying to decide whether or not to keep trying with IUIs longer, with the hope of it working or giving up and trying to figure out how I am going to afford $15,000 or more for IVF.

 Has anyone else with PCOS and Endometriosis, conceived with IUI? 

I would be more than grateful for ANY feedback I can get.  I know that it hasn't been years of trying but it doesn't hurt any less and it certainly is hard to stay positive when everyone (especially physicians) are telling you it doesn't look good.

Hi, I sympathise with your frustration, i have a condition called macroprolactioma and when trying for our first child (for 18 months and lots of tests) we only did so via clomid now we have been trying for 8 months for nr 2 with no luck even after another 3 months of clomid which didnt work, so we are back to the specialist on friday hopefully for some more help maybe a bigger does of clomid who knows what they will say.  Its really hard when you are not a text book tcc lady and it is hard to stay positive, i hope you get the help you need and it doesnt come to paying for treatment.  Treat yourself to nice things because you deserve it all going through what you are doing and good luck, i hope it all works out for you x

We ttc for 5 1/2 years with no luck. I had 2 ops to clear severe endometriosis and an ovarian cyst.Both came back. We were about to start IVF when I was introduced to Josh Rubin at www.eastwesthealing.com, he helped us to be able to concieve naturally!

Saliva tests were done and we discovered I had very low progesterone level- 31,should have been around 250! I also had adrenal fatigue stage 3 too, so no wonder I wasnt getting pregnant. I then had help with change of diet, nothing major and felt better for it and was given natural drugs to get my hormone levels back to a better level, we were due to do a saliva test after 6 months to check progress and I fell pregnant 2 weeks before The help and support were all done through the internet, chats were on skype on a weekly basis and all my questions were answered extreemly quickly. I emailed everyday!!! He is in America but at no time did we go there, everything was done via the internet and the saliva test were fed ex'd to an independant lab in California.

Loads cheaper than IVF too.I just wanted to tell you about it as its another option. We were then going to go back an have iVF knowing that I was in the best of health but luckily didnt need too. We now have a beautiful little boy. Believe me I know how hard it is when it just isnt happening and I wanted to pass my success on to you

Hi!  Because of your age, you might want to try and work out the treatment discussed above about Josh Rubin (I have never heard of him).  Surgery to remove endometriosis in the ovaries is not recommended as it tends to do more harm than good, plus the endo always comes back.  Because of my age (I'm 37) and my severe endo, the RE immediately suggested that I get IVF, there's no point in wasting time and extra money on IUI's since getting pregnant depends on the quality of your eggs and the only way to know your egg quality is by retrieving them (only done through IVF).  Again, because you are still very young, you might want to try a change in diet and supplements to improve your chances.  At the same time, however, start saving money for IVF just in case.  On the positive side, it's a good thing you know about your condition this early in the game because you still have your biological clock on your side, so you can try a few things to improve; just don't mess with your ovaries by going under the knife, it's not a risk worth taking.  Good luck and much baby dust!!!
