Hi Ladies,

Have taken your advice and bought an ovulation kit. I have read that it is also good to monitor your basal body temperature. Has anyone else done this? Any advice?

Hi Gill

I have been taking my temp this month using one of those kits. It seems to be quite up and down. It does say that this will happen due to lack of sleep etc. My 2 year old hasn't been sleeping all that great lately and i think this might effect my result. Also, when i'm taking it in the morning, my 2 year old thinks it's a great game to take it from my mouth!

Think i may get the ovulation kits for when my hubs is home in april.

Hi Marie,
It does seem quite awkward taking your temperature before you even move in the morning, plus the little gem that if you have slept with your mouth open it can effect your results! Luckily I only have to battle with 2 cats in the morning and not a 2 year old!
Is your husband away in the Army or something?

Hi Gill. I did the temperature thing when I fell pregnant with my first and although it was a bit of a pain, it becomes part of ones routine and it is all in a good cause. As it was I didn't really need it in the end as the first clear month (I started part way through a month to get into practice) I fell pregnant anyway, but I was able to pinpoint when I ovulated. Give it a go, it works out a lot cheaper than ovulation kits and there is no peeing on sticks! And you do have a written record of what has been going on if you do need to resort to going to see the doctor. Good luck! N. xx

Hi Marie

I am trying the temperature thing but my temperature seems to be permanently high! A Friend has given me an ovulation kit that she didn't need to use cos as soon as she bought it she got pregnant. Saw her little boy at the weekend and he's gorgeous, so ended up feeling very broody!
Must be tough for you with your husband away - roll on April!
Take care
Gill
