Getting Pregnant <
Long term TTC & infertility

I am in such an awful position. I was referred to the fertility team in April and got my first appt in July. I already have a 3 year old son but we have been trying to conceive for the past two years and in that time i have had one miscarriage and one ectopic last christmas which resulted in me losing my Right tube. In August i was put on 50mg clomid by the fertility nurses and i had a good response but all on the wrong size. I had 3 good follicles but on my right side where i dont have a tube. Anyhow, i went to see the consultant a few days laster and he said three cycles of clomid and then IVF if it doesnt work. Cycle one didnt work so i toof my second cycle of clomid and was scanned today for follicle tracking and was given the news that i have too many follicles to be able to DTD. On both sides i have one follicle measuring 23 and the other 17, 4 in total. I was then told that there is no need to wait for another round with clomid as i overproduce so he has said i need IVF. The consultant filled the forms out and gave them to me to sign and to take away for my husband to sign. On looking at the form, they do not know i have a child already. I cant believe they were not aware of it. What do I do now? Do i tell them that it is wrong and i have a 3 year old boy? we just assumed they knew as they have my hospital notes and they havnt read them. Also do you think I should try and conceive this month anyway? I was told that there is a high risk of triplets due to the size of the follicles. I feel so confused and sick. Any advise would be appreciated.

Hello, Iwould not tell them you already have a son,if they find out you could just say you was not aware that was a problem, yes its dishonest but otherwise you will have to pay thousands for treatment and I would still try and get pregnant,as long as you know the implications that you may have 3! best of luck

They didn't ask, so don't tell them!
But in any case go with your instinct I'd say in both matters.
Hope it all works out

Thank you for your advice. We are just going to try this month anyway and if we get pregnant with triplets then so be it. I think it is highly unlikely though. As for the IVF forms, I think we will alter the form and correct it and hand it in. See if they notice the changes. I know it is going to cost us but i really dont like being dishonest. The consultant is so nice too and wouldnt like the thought of him getting into trouble. I dont know, i may change my mind. I still need to think about it. Maybe see if i get pregnant this month so then i dont have to hand the form in for the IVF.
