hope someone can advise me, basically i have a lap and dye due anytime between now and sep 28th(hospital said today and will ring back with confirmed date) question is ladies that i am due to ovulate next mon and therefore will then be in the 2ww period. Although they will do a preg test on the day it might not show up as positive if only a few days past ovulation and you are not allowed to be pregnant when they do it. sorry this is soooo long winded!!!
so should we use condoms this time to be sure???????????????

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hi Angelheart,

My understanding is that you should have this done in the first 12 days of your cycle to ensure that you are definately not pregnant, do they know your cycle day??

I think I would use condoms for this month - not worth taking the risk!!

    Good luck xx

I would use condoms this month hun just to be on the safe side as you wouldnt want a little bean to be destroyed.

Im having my lap and dye done Thursday and although they havent told me not to bd I know some ladies on here that have been advised not to have sex before the op.

I was told that to be sure, we should not even have sex at all between end of af and the procedure (for HSG, though). Condoms aren't 100%. Hahahaha! Ironic for me to be saying that. My body is my own contraceptive!

But, seriously, surely this is the wrong time to be doing it, as MP says, it should be in the phase before ovulation?

    thanks for your replys ladies...
their protocol at the centre i am going to is that you have the lap and dye within 4 weeks from seeing the consultant(i went on 1/9/10) so thats how the secretary knows it will be done before 28/9/10. i think the consultant said to use condoms and now i know it will be done this cycle i may give ttc a miss and start again next month. at least its only 1 month and it might be quite nice not to be stressed for the 2ww!!
