    Hi all,

Just wanted to update on my situation. Had my HSG on Monday and it was bloody painful!! I agree with a posting on here that you leave your dignity at the door with all these tests!!

The hospital wouldnt tell me the results of the HSG and this has sent me into a downward spiral as I was panicking that maybe they could see a problem and just didnt want to tell me. They said they werent qualified to tell me the results and just asked when I was due back to the Gyni clinic, bloody December. I can't bear to wait until December but know I have been told to get a series of blood tests done between now and then and DH has to get his SA done again.

I can't bear to find out in December that not only do I have PCOS but knackered tubes too. On the positive side the Clomid is working and making me ovulate.

Just to really push me over the edge an old school friend who I can't stand has just posted a Facebook update to say she is expecting again. I have to admit I shed a tear, I want a baby so much and after 12 months of being prodded and poked I'm starting to get down.

Sorry to go on, just need to let it all out :\(

    Thanks for reading xxx

    Hay Billie

Sorry to hear you are feeling down, it must seem like forever until your appointment, its 7/8 wks and I know you will be counting down the days. I hope it goes fast for you and the hsg has flushed things out for you to get your bfp X

Hey Billie, sorry to hear you're having a hard time. I think it's quite mean of them to expect you to wait that long. If I were you I'd go to see my GP in a weeks time and hope they have written to them. Or phone the clinic and explain that it is putting a real strain on you psychologically and making TTC even more stressful. How would they like it if they had to wait that long? Also seems pointless for them to continue putting your body through clomid IF your tubes are blocked (which I'm sure they won't be).....so medically, there is a reason for you to know this before Dec. Failing that, as Looby says it will probably fly by (but that would not be enough for me!). Take care hon and good luck with the other tests. It may not seem like it now, but you WILL get there xx

Sorry to G/C but they shouldn't put you on clomid unless they're sure your tubes are clear. My consultant wouldn't prescribe clomid until I had a HSG and at least one tube was demonstrated as patent (and only one was!) as if they are both blocked and you conceive on clomid then you risk an ectopic pregnancy. I would definitely call your GP/consultant and query this.

I absoutely agree with TBD - I would push to get the results before then. A trick that I learned that may help: I made friends with the consultant's secretary (I phoned her to try and get a cancellation, was very nice to her, bored her with my life story and she got my follow up appt brought forward by 4 months!!!!). I think I got the number from the hospital. At the time, I said I was considering paying to see the consultant privately to get my appt brougy forward and you have to go through the seretary for that. If you get in touch they may be able to get you a different appt or maybe even arrange for the results to be given over the phone.

Also, I'm surprised they wouldn't give you the results. I had mine there and then (think that's the norm). As it were, they were okay but they would have told me if they weren't because I was watching the screen and they were explaining to me what was happening so don't automatically think it's bad thing/ On a lighter note, I conceived 12 days after my HSG - consultant think it 'flushed' me out. Good luck chick xxx

Thanks Ladies, all your kind words mean a lot. I will definitely ring the hospital next week and speak to the consultants secretary to get an earlier appointment or written results to my GP.

Will let you know my progress xxxx
