Miscarriage & pregnancy loss

Hi. First of all sorry to anyone who's able to answer this as it probably means you've had a miscarriage Also sorry for the long story.
I am having a medically managed miscarriage - had 4 tablets inserted into my vagina at 11.15am yesterday and was sent home with cocodamol.
About 3 hours later mild cramps began and progressively got worse. At about 4 hours later the cramps got so bad I couldn't handle them - I usually just crack on when I'm in pain but I couldn't get comfortable, couldn't stop heavy loud breathing and it felt like one enormous hour long contraction. Was like nothing I've ever felt before.
Then it eased up, and I started bleeding about 7 hours after the pills. Almost straight away an massive clot came out but as it came out with lots of blood I couldn't look at it so I'm not sure if it was Bean. This was about 7pm; I had very heavy period type bleeding (no clots) for the rest of the evening until I went to bed around 1am.
This morning I've woken up and there is hardly any bleeding. It's now I would say like a medium period. I expected a lot more blood and clots - does the above sound normal? Is the worst over or can I expect more heavy bleeding to come? I'm just worried it's incomplete and I might have to have a D&C anyway - I really don't want to have to go through that as well as that mammoth contraction.
Please help if you can! The nurses lied about what to expect because they said it'd feel like a bad period, NOT like a labour contraction! xx

I had about an hour of uncontrollable pain in the bath too. The light bleeding carried on for nearly a week but only one episode of pain. No one warns you how painful it is. I would think the worst is over hun but do rest up and take it easy. X

Thanks Rose. Although I'm very sorry you had to go through this it's comforting to know what I've felt is 'normal'.
Hope you're as ok as you can be now.

After the initial clotting the bleeding became more like a period. Just make sure to only wear pads hun. My hour of contractions began about 5 days after the bleeding began but mine happened naturally so hopefully the pessary means its over with much quicker. Thinking of you and if you have any questions at all please be free to ask. Xxx

Thanks yogueta I'm hoping that was the sac I passed last night as I've not had much bleeding today xx

it sounds very similar to mine; a few hours of what I also described as contractions then once the sac had passed I was much better! hopefully the worst is over for you but you might still get some bleeding.
look after yourself and take care xx

Oh I love you guys for writing that you think it should be over now. I posted the same question on another forum and 2 women have written that it wasn't yet over for them and that horrific contraction returned with avengeance with a lot more bleeding. I don't think I've lost nearly enough blood compared to what I was prepared for so I don't think it's over and I'm back to being scared xx

Don't worry hun , I'm sure you're over the worse of it, I must say I was shocked at how little blood I lost after the clot / baby , came out ( I have had heavier periods ) even after the 2nd mmc ( which was later and worse physically ) after the clots- placenta , sac etc had passed there was just bleeding , try not to worry , take it easy, hope yor dh is looking after you x x x

Thanks Evemum. I'm just not even sure i lost enough beforehand either. This is waaaaaay too much info but had bleeding maybe for 2 hours, then I was sat on the loo and leant forward to stroke the cat (he stayed with me bless him, think he knew something was wrong) and I felt a big glob come out - but I thought lots of globs should come out with a lot more blood before/after. I'm so sorry I feel pathetic telling every detail on here! I can handle bleeding and a bit of cramping but if another contraction like that comes on i just can't do it. It hurt too much to even stand up, let alone get to the car then drive 45 minutes to the hospital. Plus I bet by the time we got there the contraction would have stopped!
DH is here but he seems different today - he's really quiet and has man flu. He even made himself some lunch but didn't offer me any so I'm really worried I've annoyed him somehow as well!

Having been present when my mrs had her mc, it sounds very familiar. 1-2 hours of intense pain, then a lot of bleeding before passing the sac, then heavy "period type" Bleeding.
Hope you don't think it's weird that a bloke is commenting but the wife and I share everything.
So sorry for your loss, it's the worst feeling in the world, but stay strong xx

I just had my second mc in 3 months I'm devistated. Mine was kind of similar but I had a natural mc. I was at work when it started and I didn't expect it. I lost alot of clots also and had heavy bleeding for two days. Today is day three and its like as medium flow period now. I hope you all are ok and have a successful preg soon.
