I did last summer term full time, back part time til Sept...i think! Saying that, Ive been doing an extra supply morning every week this term so far! If it's any consolation, when I had Charlie, I had to go back to work full time when he was 18week old

hehe - I don't need any consolation actually - as you all know I was back 2 days at a school I didn't like then I did summer term full time secondment and now this is a second secondmenet (different school) again full time! I LOVE being full time it is definitely what works best for me and then I love my school hols and weekends with Max - we need the money too AND Max LOVES nursery and thrives there!

Just wondered if i really was the only one!

I'm a full time Mummy and loving it after having such a hectic working life when we lived in the UK. It was one of the reasons we moved out here so we could have children and I could be at home with them if I wanted. Brendan goes to nursery two days a week and I think we will put this up to three or four days from next year as he loves it and it is good for his norwegian. It also means I can make more of a start on my business. I think we will start to send Jacob to nursery a few days a week from next August when he will be 14 months and then I can really get my business off the ground.

As you say I think it is an individual thing and you have to do what suits, or what is necessary to pay the mortgage. We are very very lucky because my Dad left us an amazing amount when he died so once we get probate through on his will we will be able to pay our mortgage off and have enough money to do everything we want to expand our house. Totally a dream come true, although of course I would give up every penny to have my Dad back.

Glad you are still enjoying your school, makes a big difference enjoying what you do doesn't it! xx

I'm a part time mummy - went back 3 days a week when Finlay was about 10 months old! i did find it hard but and although my job is very demanding and hard work and some days i'd so love to not go in i think i have a good work life balance! fin goes childminder 2 days a week and then my mum on a friday so not too bad and he has learnt so much from being with other children (some things not so good from the older ones hehehe)

i agree that its different for everyone and some people just couldnt or wouldnt enjoy staying at home all the time and others cant imagine working i think whatever works for you - and alos with teaching its slightly different as you get chunks of time off - my friend is teacher and due in april and she will go back full time but then she will have all the hols off!

LIZ - wow like you said you would do anything to have your dad back! but my god being able to pay off your mortgage is wonderful and your whole family will have such a good life because of that!
