for those of you whose lo's are in big beds now do you find they move around a lot?
Last night was the first night we put josh in his big bed because he just thrashes against the sides of the moses basket now and i kept waking up in the night hearing this noise like something banging and it was him right up against the siderails of the cot hitting his arms against it like he was trying to break out of jail hehe. He had his head right up against the side aswell, im worried he could bash his head in his sleep.... it didnt seem to wake him up but i could just hear his hands hitting the rails
then earlier i found him nearly right up the top of the bed after putting him feet to foot! He didnt have any blankets cos it was too warm but i just dont want him to hurt himself!!
anyone else had anything like this, any suggestions...?
Im a bit wary of putting bumpers cos i know youre not supposed to because then if he did push himself against the sides he could suffocate himself against them, and i dont even want to bother ringing the HV cos shes bound to just say something useless or nothing at all!

Skye normally keeps in situ in her cotbed, but that's because she has a harness on her legs so she can't go far, bless her!
That said I did find her completely sideways at 90 degrees across the bed last week, and was quite worried. No idea how she got there when she can't move her legs really - she must have used her arms to spin round LOL!!

We have got bumpers on the cot at the mo but it's main;y to keep the cold away from Skye. Once she is out of her harness we will take them off as I'm sure she'll be all over the place. She'll be togged up in a sleeping bag too by then. All she does is pull the blankets about with her hands now and I'm scared she'll pull them over her head and won't be able to get them down again. Roll on summer when I don't have to worry about blankets!

Ciaran is a big mover and always has been. Latest was moving from feet to foot, to the top left hand corner of the bed face down with his head banging against a cot book that we leave up that end for play times (though not now we don't!). He wasn't too happy to find himself it that position.

We have always used sleeping bags and I do use bumpers around the entire cot (using 2 crib ones up the sides). I didn't really think that they might be dangerous but I suppose now I have, my view is that he'll turn his head away or move himself if he sticks his face against it. He can move bloody quickly enough from the middle of our bed to my boob when he want's to!!!!

oh, and having a blanket pinning him down doesn't help either - he just lifts his legs straight in the air to pull it away, or just shuffles out from under it!
