I had a 2nd degree tear and was stitched. I had sex for the first time after about 5 weeks. Ruby is now 9 wks and my sex life has now fully returned to normal with no discomfort. xxxx

I tore and had internal and external stitches. My lo is now 8 weeks old. We first tried after 5/6 weeks. It was a little uncomfortable at first but is now fine. x

Hi Karen..i'm so glad i'm not the only one!

Sorry if this is tmi of some...

We tried when Lily was 5 weeks but it was really hurting me / inside as well. Gave up and tried the following week. After a few attempts we did have sex but it wasn't comfy. Doesn't just feel tender where i had stiches but also inside as well.

Husband says it all feels the same to him and said perhaps i'm still slighly bruised inside. We tried the other night and again it was painful to start but got better. It does ruin the moment as i become alittle tearful as it just doesn't feel right to start.

I'm overdue my smear test..think i can have one now?..anyway will spk to nurse and see what she says.

    xx

Thanks for that halle...i'll wait then. I was due one last sept and suppose to have them yearly due to pre-cancerous cells a while back. Been meaning to arrange it and its only because of all the media around jade goody that has reminded me!

I've never been a huge fan of hers but so feel for her. Now i've got lily it really hits home. Couldn't imagine not seeing my child grow up. The only good thing is that it may have raised awareness of this type of cancer and importance of smear tests...its def made me sort out an appointment!

sorry..gone of track of this topic! xxx

I've been lucky by the sounds of it, I tore quite badly and had a lot of stitches but we first had sex 16 days after the birth and it was fine (better than fine, yippee!) As long as I'm properly, ahem, warmed up it's just like it used to be.
