anyone elses lo's wake during night alot trying to trump then cry as if its hurting them... this can go on for hours and i try dummy, hand on tummy etc he may go quiet for min but starts up again and you hear him push these massive powerful trumps out... in the end he wakes himslef up so much dummy etc wont help get him off and i get bottle then he takes an oz or so and i try to get back off only for him to wake with trumps again hour later then thats till morning - he seems to calm if brought in bed doesnt get so upset with it but still does it and i have to put dummy in etc....

im so tired now as have a 2 year old alwell and mason is nearly 10 weeks (one of the young ones) and he is awake all evening and then i feed in bed at 10 and he goes off but then wakes ost of night - the night is a blur now i wake up and im surew only had hour proper sleep... anyway he didnt have a bedroom so hubby has build him one bless him in end part of our lounge - sounds strange i know but proper room with door etc... it will do until do proper extention... BUT the prob is as at mo he is next to me i stay in bed to deal with him i will have to get up and come down - and the way he is now ill basically live in the rocking chaoir in his room as i know everytime i go bed he will start again...............

not sure if anyone can help - i have previously tried colic/wind drops!

he suffered badly with colic and wind and has gaviscon, dr brown bottles and aptimal comfort mil for babies with colic so doing everything - arrrggghhhhhhhh

how often are you guys up in night? also are your lo's up in evening?

Hiya - I feel for you and yes sometimes Jasmine trumps and then cries...
We put LO down in evening, and have now started waking her again at 10pm for last feed. Still struggling to get long in bed as she was awake at 1:45 and 5:45,,,,,,, tis tough. like you she settles on me in bed very easily but will soon kick off in cot in her own room. No magic answers but didn't want to R&R. SXX

    hi star,

typing with 1 hand so sorry for grammar!

my lo was like this and it was awful. he was is so much pain. he is now on colief, and he is a different baby..although it has taken a good week to work.

i have seen on other posts that people have said colief had not worked for them, but then said they have not used it as per instructions. i would say give it a go for a good 10 days...

    good luck

Hiya, Yeah I have tried diff colic remedies but none are 100%. George wakes up every 3 hrs and his moses basket is still next to the bed. He gets bad wind during the night and is restless. Last night was one of the bad ones. He wouldn't settle we tried feeding and he kept crying and then changed his nappy and winding him over shoulder or on belly across lap but the only thing that would quieten him was to put him on breast for ten mins and comfort him and then he took his whole feed and had a winding and a burp and went to sleep. I think that they are tired and in pain and get so worked up sometimes that they just need that bit of comfort from your body. They also pick up on when you're tired and frustrated so you need to try and remain calm. Sometimes George just wants to sleep on someone and moans every time he is put down but we give him a few mins and usually he quietens down. Like this midwife who says don't give newborns eye contact at night or talk to them, or put them down and let them self sooth for ages at a time... I think she is talking a load of hogwash. When we discipline a child we put them on a step or whatever for the amount of mins relevant to their age so why leave a baby crying for ages. Yes you can create a rod for your own back if you constantly pick a child up but in the night all it takes sometimes to settle baby is a bit of gentle reassurance that mummy/daddy is there for them xjx

    thanks everyone!

i think im just gonna have to be patient and wait for hhis body to mature and hopefully it will stop bothering him!

he is still awake all evening but only odd night really upset most nights just awake and in basket in lounge and needs dummy putting in etc... really want to crack getting him to sleep properly before the later 10.30pm feed! he will usually drift off downstairs about 9.30 then i take up at 10.30 and dream feed him, he then wakes at 4am and then from 6.30 onwards grunting trying to trump etc needs dummy and hand on tummy etc then drifts in and out of sleep usually till 7.30/8am!
