    Hi Susan,

Sorry I haven't replied sooner not been able to get on. I have started bottle feeding now as He wasn't getting enough off me they said it could be the tablets I'm on, at first they said to eat and drink more I did this but I couldn't eat or drink any more. but since bottle feeding he seems a lot more happy and he put on 7oz at last weigh in. Still not up to his birth weight but getting there.

It made me feel bad not being able to breast feed but now I know its best for him and I know what his getting.

Hope every thing goes well let me know.

    take care
    Vicky

    Hi vicky

thanks for replying, that is a shame you had to give up breast feeding but that was a good increase of 7oz.

at my last weigh in, last week, skye (4wks) had increased her weight fron 2.69g to 2.78g, which was still under birth weight of 2.8g. mw was happy she was gaining weight. she reckoned some breast fed babies were slow growers.

have a hv visit today, am hoping she has now exceeded birth weight

    Hi Susan,

Glad Skye is getting on that's a good increase. I had Daniel weighed today and he is now 3.18g 7lbs so has put on 11oz in a week so has passed he's birth weight now, I was really pleased with this increase. I spoke to the HV and she still wants him checked every week as he was on the 9th centile when he was born and he is now below the 0.4th centile. she is talking about putting him on a different type of milk I'm not that sure why though as he is healthy and putting on so I thought that was a good thing perhaps it's because it was a different HV will have to wait and see what happens next week.

Don't know how much they want him to put on each week next there be telling me his too fat.

I never had this with my daughter she just put on straight from the start.
    sorry for the rant .

    take care Vicky

that's a great increase in weight. I guess every Hv is different cos mine was telling me not to give skye bottles of ebm on regular basis incase she gets lazy. would be interested to know what they say about recommended weight gain per week.

skye is on the 0.4th centile as well.

please let me know howyou get on next week'sweigh in.

    Hi Susan,
    How are you and Skye?
Daniel is 7weeks today and we have had a busy week so far We had his 6-8 week check on Monday and the doctor said He is OK. I asked about the weight gain and they said its good.
she said they like to see them put on about 8oz a week.
she said ideally she would like him to put on 11oz this week but that is not very realistic so between 5 and 8 is fine.
So Tuesday we had him weighed and he is now 7lbs 9oz so a weight gain of 9oz so we was pleased with that.

    hope you are well
