I've taken the sleep positioner out of James's crib tonight. He's not used to being able to move about. I put him to bed, ten minutes later heard a noise, then James crying! Shot up the stairs, he had the muslin on his face (which he always does), but had moved up a bit and was at a slight angle. It looked like he'd managed to bang his head on the bars, just under the padding! Scared the s*** out of me! Thought he'd managed to land on the floor or something! xx

Aw, hope he's ok? He's probably just finding his boundaries now he has more space! 'Tis scary when they cry out unexpectedly like that though! Hope you've managed to calm down a little, and James sleeps well for you xx

He was fine after a cuddle, which I think ended up being more for my benefit! Just checked on him again, he's back at that same angle, and the paddings moved again! They should really allow you to secure it at the bottom somehow! Not sure I'm going to get a lot of sleep tonight. But that's fine if James does! xx

Sara used to do what James has done every night...grrr. I moved the bumper down so that I could tuck a good 2 inches down the side of the mattress, that's the only way I could stop her. Now though, she squirms down the bed and turns 90 degrees and wakes up with the head against the bars that way instead! I'm just thankful for sleeping bags otherwise she'd be freezing!

I'm sure he'll settle down, hope he sleeps ok tonight with his new found 'freedom'!

g/c. i hate cribs and cots anyway, when phoebe was 9months old she got her leg weaved through 3bars with the middle one wedged behind her knee, she was screaming hiserically, could get it free no matter how we tried to bund her leg so at 3am hubby had to get the electric saw and cut the bars to get her out.
obviousley all the girls have still gone in cots but when i here that kinda crying over the monitor my heart sinks.

That must have been REALLY scary hun. Especially with her crying, and having a saw near her! Luckily James's legs are too big for the crib bars, not that when he moves to a cot he won't get stuck! You'd think they'd make the bars close enough for that to be impossible! Well James managed not to whack his head again, although I've had to stuff the bumper further down. He was at the top of the crib at 4am, after an hour of wriggling! xx

Funshine - that must have been really scary! Did you not complain to the cot manufactorers? Do the bars not have to be a certain width apart to stop that sort of thing happening?
