    hey ladies,

Dylan is 4 weeks today, and still only going 2 hours between feeds, i was hoping i would go longer now he is abit older but no! Bang on every 2 hours he wants feeding, he can have anything from 2 to 4 oz in 1 sitting. he is also suffering from really bad wind too! Does it get any easier??? i am shattered!!!

Freddie is 6 weeks and goes 2-3 hourly still, but this last couple of days 1.5 to 2 hourly taking 4 or 5 oz but he does do 3 or 3.5 hours at night, thank God!!! and he is ff, also going to try hungry baby as he seems a bit unsettled, going to try every other feed at first to get him used to it, also not telling hv as when i mentioned it she tried to put me off, but i just want my smiley, contented baby back!!!xx

Megan is 5 weeks on thursday and on aptamil and we went through a few day slike that last week which i put down to a growth spurt - this week has been better she is going mainly 3.5-4 hours (but can sometimes want fed before 3 hours and other days its 5 hours if we are out and about and she takes anything from 3oz to 5oz) she usually feeds about 11/12 and sleeps til 6/6.30 no matter what she does during the day so i cant complain...

she feeds at roughly the same times so im hopeful we will get into more of a routine but at the minute im happy to go with what she wants when she wants (even if its just an odd 30mls 'snack' in between feeds lol) she only cries when she is hungry so i can recognise the signs so who am i to dictate that she has to wait longer than she wants..i am a bit worried she'll get too big but when i look at the whole day she is taking what she should as she takes less at one feed if she has taken more the previous one and vice versa..

as for hungry baby formula im a hv staff nurse and hubgry baby is a real no no...the reason being that milk is made of whey and casein (curds) and has a casein;whey ration of about 60;40% where as the 2nd stage hungrier baby milks are whey dominant and therefore harder to digest so as it takes lomnger to digest baby feels fuller for longer however these being thicker can cause constipation and upset tummies in young babies and arent recommened at all (even past 6 months - 1st stage is suitable til a year) and whike many people use hungry baby and their babies are fine as hvs see lots of babies they see lots of problems with it (often resolved when parents switch back to qst stage formula) so thats why its not recommened however, like all things i always say to mums its their choice you have to do whats best for your baby however, personally i would stick with what you are doing as in most cases it'll settle down as it seems to have for me...i know its exhausting though!
