    Hi,

Megan will be 8 weeks old tomorrow (oh my god) and has always been fairly good with sleep pvernight...not so much during the day but i dont mind as she is good at night....

she has always been baby led and now feeds 3-3.5hourly during the day (can go up to 5hours if we are out and about and she is asleep or distracted) so while she is usually 5-6oz she can take 7oz some feeds and 4oz others so a loose routine but times are more or less the same each day as she becomes more regulary with her bed time and waking up time....she isnt a greedy baby and will either take more at one feed if she has gone longer so then take less at next botttle so it cancels itself out and over the course of 24hours will have about 800mls....

she has a bath about 7.30pm then a feed and for the past 2 weeks has been going down in the crib in our room - she goes in awake but sleepy and will self settle to sleep very quikcly by about 9pm....she will then not look for a feed til about 5.30/6am (she will then go bakc over til about 9ish when we get up and get dressed for the day) she wakes a few times overnight briefly sometimes for a gurn (if her wind is upseting her and making her uncomfortable) or sometimes for a wee chat to herself lol - she doesnt take a dummy so most nights i dont even have to get up as within 5mins she will be back to sleep and as she doesnt cry or look for a feed i dont give one (i have found there is no point in trying to give her a feed if she isnt looking for one when i tried a sort of dream feed with her which didnt work and i was disturbing her more so just abandoned that idea as going with what she wants is obviously working)

so i just wondered what your LOs are doing and what you all do about nappies? we use reusables during the day but i found they leaked a bit overnight so use huggies size 2 then - she can have them on for up to 10 hours (this doesnt upset her - she will cry is she has pooed overnight but thats only happened once) and im worried if i get her up when she is stiring a bit to changer her bum i will wake her up and make her unsettled so i dont want to do this - also im hopeful she will continue to sleep longer and potentially go 11-12hours overnight in a few months or at least sleep solidly through in which case i really wouldnt want to disturb her - ideally i wouldnt leave the nappy on more than 6hours (i thought maybe up to 8 overnight) but her bum seems ok - i put vaseline on as a barrier and a tiny bit of sudocream on if it starts to look red but so far we havent had any problems (if we did i would change her regardless of whether she woke up or not)

so i just wondered what everyone else does - especially those of you have babies sleeping for long peridos?

P.s I was worried she was getting to big as she was 12lbs 1oz the other day but she is above 75th for weight and head circumferance and actually above the 91st for her length so its ok...through my experince bigger babies want to feed either more or more often...she has always been formula fed aptamil stage 1 so im very pleased with everything overall.

Viola is breast fed apart from dream feed and settles at 7 - 7.30pm. She gets a dream feed of formula at about 10.30pm and I change her nappy then before I feed her so she settles to sleep quickly. Sometimes she doesn't even wake up when I change her. Then she sleeps through until 6am. I give her a breast top up and put her back in her cot. I then wake her at 7am or she would sleep until 9 or 10am and then we get out of step during the day. Sometimes she is sleeping through until 7am. couldn't be more different from her brother. I did the same routine but he was an eating machine and wasn't sleeping through until he was 5-6 months and he was formula fed!

I have always used pampers at night for my son and still do. He's in his for 12 hours at night now and has been since he dropped night feeds and has never ever had nappy rash. But then I always put a little sudocream on his bum after his bath before bed. He wears what ever nappy is on offer during the day but it has to be pampers at night as everything else leaked. But then his nappies were really full of liquid but hers don't get as full. I am doing the same with Viola.

Jacob has his bath and is fed in his own room at 7pmish, the last few nights he gone through to 3.30am before wanting another feed!!! On average he takes 6-7oz at bedtime but only 4-5oz during the day.

I posted on here regarding napppies for overnight as my huggies newborn size 2 were leaking every night. After loads of great advise i decided to try Asdas little angels comfort dry size 3 and they have been amazing no leaks and one happy baby

Bellas is also in huggies size 2 they have only leaked twice which was when they have been really really really wet over night and its only been a tiny bit. Most nights she wakes between 3-5, we always change her nappy before her feed it doesn't seem to wake her up.
