We are thinking of putting harry in his own room, but i really want to sort his sensor mat for my peace of mind! I bought one off ebay and tested it with a foam matress before he was born, but we put it on his cot the other day and it just goes off even when he is in there. We thought it might be the mattress as it is sprung and so quite thick.
Has anyone else had this problem, or do i just have a faulty?

Hey hon our Harry has been on the Tommy Tippee one since he was born. The alarm has only gone off twice - once when his breathing was actually delayed (!!!!) scary but he was fine and once when he manage to roll and move off where it was! Sounds like yours could be faulty?

Hello i can probably solve this problem hunny. Ive got one and its never went off. First thing is you need to make sure the sensitivity is right, it can be adjusted but where your going wrong probably is that if your putting it in a cot you need to put down a bit of plywood for it to sit on as the slats make it uneven and go off. It does tell you somewhere in the brochure but you would think at the price they would include a bit of plywood too hope it works for you xxx

    Hiya,

Can i also suggest that you make sure nothing heavy is sittin on the wire which leads to the monitor as ours has kept randomly going off (giving me a near heart attack!!) but i then noticed our heavy floor mirror was sitting on the wire. i moved it and it hasn't gone off since!

Doh we've tried the plywood and it hasnt helped. The manual says the sensor pads should be replaced for each baby, but i dont want to do this if its the wires that are faulty?!
