Has anyone's LO had a cold yet?
My poor little bubba seems to have caught one, probably from the visitors she's had this week. She's all snuffly and coughing and was like that all night, I feel so sorry for her
I think they can have those saline nose drops can't they? I have raised her mattress slightly at the head end and will try putting her in the bathroom when steamy later to try and clear het airways. Is there anything else I could try?

Aww poor girly - my lo had her first cold at 9 days old- I was so gutted to have exposed her to germs so early but there's not much you can do really with visitors etc.

Saline drops were amazing at clearing her blocked nose, I raised the mattress of her moses basket at the time with blankets underneath which seemed to help a little - and I also had one of those nasal aspirators to try to suck the snot out (lovely!) - although good timing and a tissue worked better! lol.

Now she's a little older I'd say wrapping her up warm and getting some fresh air would probably help rather than her being in a warm stuffy environment too long too.

Hope she feels better soon xx

    Hiya, thanks
Oh a cold at nine days must have been worrying.
We had a bad night as she hardly slept, hoping she will tonight. Have given her calpol which seems to be helping x

It was awful listening to her trying to breathe through her nose and she couldn't! Not much you can do with a 9 day old as even calpol is out of the question really! lol - I really did feel for her - probably took a good couple of weeks for it to clear up so prepare yourself for a slightly below par baby for a bit xx

    Poor little mite!
My LO hasn't had a cold as such, but being a c-section baby was very snotty for quite some time. I used saline spray in her nose and it works wonders. It's a good idea to lay them on their side and spray it so that gravity helps then keep them on their side for 30 secs or so to help them expulse it. You do need about 7 arms though lol
    Hope she's better soon xxxx
