I've been thinking about night times and there are two things we need to try to do.

Firstly, Sophie is nearly too big for her moses basket and will have to go into the cot in her room when she outgrows it. I know the recommendation is for them to stay until 6 months but there are two reasons she'd have to move - there isn't room for anything bigger than the moses basket in our room and I'm ashamed to say that hubby is still sleeping on the sofa bed in the study as he can't get a good night's sleep with Sophie there and he needs to be alert for work. After nearly 3 months of sleeping apart I want some normality back! Ideally I'd like to move her whilst she still fits in the moses basket so that she can go in the cot initially until she's used to being in her room and then she can go in the cot.

Secondly, I'd like to start to encourage Sophie to sleep longer without feeding at night. I've been moving her night feed forward incrementally so we've gone from 1.30am to 1am and last night I fed her at 12.45 and she went through to 6am. The idea is for that feed to become the "dreamfeed" at about 10.30 / 11pm.

I don't want to move her, and move the night feed all at the same time, so should I wait until the night feed is the dream feed before moving her, or move her first?

Not really sure but have you tried putting her down for naps in her cot in her room? Evie goes down quite happily in her cot during the day and is almost out of her basket too. Gonna use a travel cot for a little while yet tho because i'm not ready to give her up yet LOL.

    Hi there
We moved Sam into his own room when he was three weeks (SHOCK, HORROR!) as he is such a noisy sleeper and I was becoming completely unable to cope through lack of sleep. He is in the room next to us so easy to hear, and I am following all the other SIDS guidelines.

You might be surprised and find that Sophie sleeps fine in the cot. Sam basically will sleep where ever I put him... in the moses basket (too small now), his cot, his camping cot, grandma's bed! Luckily that isn't an issue. Give it a bash and see what happens! We kept the sleep positioner that he had used in the moses basket so that made him feel a bit more cosy in his cot.

He is actually in his cot now having a marathon 3 hour afternoon nap!

Sound like you are moving the feed time slowly so probably won't be too much drama. Good luck with that!
