Hi hun,
Naps-Olivia can fight hers all day, somedays like today she will only have 2 naps and other days she will have up to four, the best thing to do is let them play about for a while, tires them out quicker.
Night-Olivia used to flip all the time onto her front and then wake up crying in a crawling poistion, I turn her around put the dummy in and she is straight back to sleep, I have found now that she flips less and less so it will pass.
Whinging-Olivia has her days where she can whinge and cry for the entire day and other days she is fantastic, I still havent figured out to get more of these days, she is also throwing a lot more tantrums now!! Hoping this is a phase!
Food-Olivia has no teeth yet either so what we do is every Sunday is make a big batch of food and freeze it for the week. So we blend butternut squash, then we have carrotts, parsnips and potatoes (she loves this) Also managed to get some sweet potatoes this week so she is going to get some of this as well. For desserts or sometimes luch she gets strawberry and bananas blended and I am going to see what passionfruit and some other fruits blended are like for her this week. I also let her try some toast this week and even with no teeth she loves it.
Biscuits from Plum range (pomegranate and an apple version) are great, they are hard but they can suck them until they crumble into the mouth and usually Olivia has none left!! They are on offer in Boots at the mo.
Bottles-Olivia is now on 3 7oz bottles a day, we are thinking of reducing this to 2 bottles a day when she gets to about 9.5 months
Sorry this is a long response, hope it helps in some ways xxxx
Hiya
I'm probably not the best person to answer this, am abit of a car crash of a mum. Anyway:
Naps - Tyler is pretty good with his naps, he has about 1-1.5 hours in the morning and then around an hour lunchtime, although this has dropped to 45 mins since he started nursery.
Nightime - He sleeps on his side but used to roll on his tummy and cry, now i just put him down on his side and he stays there 9/10. He still wakes once at night but as my mums says 'this to will pass'
Whingy - Some days he just seems to moan all day, its normally when he hasn't had quite enough sleep or his teeth hurt. I just keep him occupied and we go out and about which seems to help. Now he can crawl its easier to keep him amused as we have a big playmat with all his toys on which he just makes his way around.
Food - A major problem with us, sometimes he just wont eat anything, others he'll have a few spoonfuls. I've been using mainly the jars and puches as i've found that he doesn't like what i make apart from peas, brocoli and sweet potatoe. Will persevere though but am back in work so will have to make more time. He does the raspberry blowing thing which drives me nuts, but he eats in nursery. He has 2 teeth so quite likes finger food (mashing it up and throwing it on the floor), but loves rich tea biscuits and bananas.
Bottles - As he's still not great on food, he still has 4 bottles of 7oz of follow on milk a day, i think i'm going to try and drop the 11 o'clock one as this may be the reason he wont eat his lunch. I feed to sleep, which i know is wrong but it works for us and it calms him down.
Bit of an epic !!

Naps - normally Brody will have 1hr in the morning, then 1-2hrs in the afternoon just after lunch. If I happen to be out in the car late afternoon only then will he have a quick catnap. I follow a routine where he has 3hr awake periods. I find that if this time is exceeded, or if im out and dont allow him some wind down time, he will easily become overtired and it can be impossible to get him down for a proper nap. At 7 mths there awake time is supposed to be 3hrs. Do you follow a routine at all? If he is only sleeping for 40mins in the morning, it may be that he is overtired come 2pm? Early on I used to follow Brody's sleep queues (3 yawns, rubbing eyes) then put him down. I find that these queues arent there usually with the 3hr window, but as soon as I go to put him down it's much easier than if I wait any longer.
Nightime - yes he wakes. Had his sleep back on track (again!!) til the last round of teething and he has been waking for the past 6 wks or so. Dummy in and he rolls back over and goes back off to sleep. He sometimes wakes if he is stuck on his tummy (he never rolls back when in the cot :\? ) Id like to get rid of the dummy soon but Id like to get him sleeping back through and having him more settled first. So no tips there sorry. (He doesnt wake cos it's fallen out as it falls out as soon as he drops off).
Wingy - I get lots and lots of this I think because it's him and I for 95% of the time and I have no one to just pop in. And maybe a phase?? Also agree that it could be frustration or boredom cos Brody isnt quite crawling yet. It does sound like Mason could be overtired though and that's why come 530 (witching hour!!) he is wingy.
Food - easy food for no teeth might be:
- avocado
- steamed veg (e.g. asparagus is a fave of Brody's even when he had no teeth).
- mushed up boiled or roasted veg (pumpkin, sweet potato, potato).
- bolognese sauce is a fave - you can blend it up so it's not too lumpy if that's a prob - load it up with cheese.
- shepherds pie (lamb mince and layer with mash pot with cheese on top - I skip the actual pastry)
- Today I made some homemade salmon fish cakes (mashed potato, salmon (I used a tin as it was first time trying it) an egg, lemon zest (optional but lovely) and some breadcrumbs. Stick them on a tray lightly sprayed with oil and in a hot 180deg oven and cook for 10mins then turn, cook for a few more mins. Brody absolutely devoured them at lunch and dinner. If Mason likes these you can make a big batch, cook them and freeze them. Then just reheat in a pan when you need them.
- fishfingers or homemade crumbed fish pieces
- yesterday we tried dolomades (vine leaves with rice stuffing) and they went down a treat
Bottles - also a struggle so I have to be real patient and it can take some time to get them down him with several breaks in doing so. But they are (approx times):
- 7am 150ml
- 11am 150ml
- 3pm 100ml
- 630pm 200-250ml
I too would like to drop the 11am bottle but can never seem to get him to take more first thing in the morning, or at the 3pm bottle!

Thank you for your replies i know i was asking lots............but has helped! also i as you may of noticed i was having a bad day yesterday with mason not napping properly, wingy etc... it was far to hot mind you! but today hubby been about and although had awful night as mas woke at 2 hubby dummied but then he woke at 3.30 and he screamed house down till 5am i was crying as tried evferything bar feeding hubby woke and came and said sod this bring him in bed - we did and he ell asleep straight away - toddler then woke at 6am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But today has been good as hubby not working, he wouldnt go off in cot this morning but i knew would be tired as up 3 hours had bot and massive breakie so put in pushchair in garden and after a bit of rocking he went off and slept for hour and half which never happens - mind you knackered from last night! he ate loads then at lunch and was happy and i took him out shops and he was fine, had 15min nap on way home around 2.30 and then we went out to pub garden to meet family and he was good and then went in pushchair for nap again! so he has now ate good tea then happily sat on floor and played (chewed on toys) and gone bed!!!!
i am praying for an ok night and hoping he doesnt think if i cry for 2 hours ill get to come in bed!!!
i do think the wingy is mainly tireness mixed with bordum as when awake most of day its a boring lomg day for them when just at home and he cant move yet etc....
lillykitt - IF YOU ARE A CAR CRASH MUM THEN I DEF AM AS THIS IS MY SECOND AND I WAS RUBBISH AT THE BABY THING FIRST TIME ROUND AND AM AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL!
one thing you said about food my first was the same and litrally ate nothing i would try everything brought, made, fin gure food etc and he hardly touched a thing - i kept up with bots 4 a day until he went childminder and she said about dropping the 11ish one and then they will be hungry 11.30/12 for a good lunch - first few days dont get it and can get upset as they think milk fills them and food doesnt until they realise - we then did what she said but by then was 9.5months and it worked got him eating!!!
so this time i just bit the bullet and just didnt give that bot and was worried would back fire but its worked with him taking food!
xxxx
wanted to answer before bed - so i am not being short just tired!!!
Naps 0 Nightmare - always have been - half hour max at 10am and then about 1.30pm. He thien goes to bed at 7pm which is a long stretch but i leave it to him to shoose and he doesnt seem to tired.
I am really lucky as toby sleeps through and has done for a long time so whilst i dont have the coffee break nap in the day - i am lucky to get the zzzzzz at night
Wingy - well therehave been times where i havent known what to do he has been so unhappy but i really understoodwingy the last 3 weeks. MMMing with his mouth closed - all day - its been awful and i was starting to think that the happy toby was just a phase!!!
However he is def back and giggling and smiling so i think/hope it was just a phase
Food - i am so paranoid that he will have food issue like most of my family that we followed blw - sometimes he eats lots sometimes nothing - i put no pressure at all on him and as soon as he tells me enough - its time to play. He is healthy and happy and to be honest siemtimes i dont want lunch either!
Bottles One after breakfast about 9.30am - 5-7oz
Bottle 2 - 3.30pm - 5-7oz
Bottle 3 - 6.30-7.30pm - 9oz
Hope this helps x
