Good morning all,
Did I imagine that someone has a scan today? Good luck if you do.
It was funny at work yesterday, as I walked around the office yesterday peoples' eyes were popping out of their head when they saw my bump. Feeling lots of lovely flutterings, or twitches as I call them which is v.reassuring.
Scan 3 weeks today and I'm starting to feel nervous, firstly for the medical side of it and secondly because I have a really strong preference for a boy and I'm scared of my reaction if it's a girl.
Today i need to finalise our fancy dress costumes for tomorrow night, it's 80's films so we're going as the little mermaid and Prince Eric, but I'm the prince and H is Ariel. Will be a maniclunchtime trying to find everything I need in the city.

Ha you beat me to it today BG!
Duckford has her scan today - good luck lovely!
Nice to cause a furor in the office.
Nice and sunny here, which always makes you feel better about being in work at 7.30am!
Not a lot to report really. Very impressed with Tesco, ordered some nursery stuff yesterday morning and its arriving in store to collect this afternoon so will go pick that up after work. Then for a quiet night in I think. Bean was wriggling lots last night, still only dull thuds though, nothing that can be seen from outside with my stupid placnenta, think H is getting a bit frustrated by it bless him.
Back later to say hi!

BG - have fun tomorrow night. Sounds like it'll be a good night. H had a real preference for a boy too but he seems ok about now.
PC- That's good service from Tesco.
Not alot to report from today. D slept until 6 this morning with no wakenings. Feel like a new person. It's lovely. Finally beginning to some movement which is nice. I may have bought girly something online. Don't tell my H. He thinks we need nothing new until she's here. Men know nothing.
Good luck to Duckford x

Good luck Duckford!
PC - I had an anterior placenta last time but could see movement from the outside I think from 30ish weeks, although it's all a bit of a blur.
D - that's good to know about your H, my H also wants another boy, I feel really guilty in case it's a girl and we react badly. What did you buy?
05/04/2013 at 08:02
BG - Best not tell H that, I keep saying that he'll feel it soon!
I have a preference for a girl, which is why I didnt want to find out. I figure I'll just be so chuffed on the day to have he/she that I wont care then!

I wanted a boy first time round and we didn't find out. Think it played a part in my pnd but now wouldn't change D for the world. I wanted two the same whatever they were. I bought a sleeping bag in kiddicares sale. I was ordering nappies anyway ;)

Morning all. Just about to leave for work so no time for personals. Me and the kids are going to my friends for the weekend when I finish work, involves a train and a boat so I'm hoping I manage myself with all the bags. Tried to pack light but still have loads of stuff. Hope everyone is well

BG - your fancy dress costumes sound brilliant! Hope you find everything you need.
PC - Great service from Tesco, exciting stuff.
Daisy - promise not to tell your H about your shopping. We bought one little all in one after our 12 week scan and it took a lot of arm twisting to convince my H to even get that.
Ally - have a lovely weekend, hope the journey is ok for you.
Good luck to Duckford for her scan today.
AFM - suffered a bit with sickness last night which was obviously my punishment for saying how relieved I was to be feeling better on this thread yesterday. Not much else to report really, off out to dinner tonight round a friend of my IL's which will be nice, especially the bit where I don't have to cook...
Hi to all that follow x

Daisy, that's my thoughts as well I want two the same, I had a slight preference for a boy last time but if I'd had a girl I'd have probably wanted another girl this time, not for my sake but for A. I really wish I could just be happy either way.
Ally- sounds like an exciting journey for the kids. Try to pack light!

Sorry you were sick again popcorn, have a lovely meal tonight, fab way to start the weekend.

Morning all, good luck to Duckford for the scan today.
BG, glad you are all public now, it must be such a relief. I know what you mean about the scan - I have a preference for a girl, H for a boy, which is why I really want to find out so we can both get to grips with whatever it is.
PC, how exciting about the nursery stuff.
Daisy, so pleased you got a good sleep and of course you need to buy stuff!
Ally, have a fab weekend and hope the journey isn't too tricky for you.
AFM, busy day ahead today, need to go food shopping, then to town for some stuff, get my eyebrows threaded and lip waxed, then nails done ahead of tomorrow's ball. Also need to pop to a few places in the village for stuff and do the booklet with the info and prizes in for tomorrow! H staying at home with the boys so I can get on, potty training is going pretty well but not ready to drag him round places yet. Scan Monday!

Had our scan yesterday and all is well! Baby was being a pickle and had his hand over his face for a lot of it and was in an awkward position so the lady had trouble checking out baby's heart, but with a few wiggles from me and prods from her baby moved. So relieved and in response bought a jungle cot mobile from tesco (think Porkchop it was you who had got this too?) And some hungry caterpillar body suits in up to 1 month size. We dont know what we're having so bought something neutral with bright colours on!
Duckford- good luck with your scan today.
Bg- hope you find all the fancy dress bits you need.
Porkchop- that's very quick delivery, impressive. Makes you want to use them again!
Daisy- I think you are allowed to buy things. Men dont really understand the excitement of buying. My h would leave it all to the very last minute!
Ally- enjoy your weekend away, sounds like fun!
Popcorn- enjoy your meal tonight, it always tastes better if someone else cooks!
Margot- sounds like a busy day, hope you get everything done. Not long til the scan!
Now that I feel I can buy stuff has anyone got a list or idea of essentials you need for a baby? There's too much choice out there, and not having a friend/family member that's had children recently I don't really know where to start! Also what size/amount of clothes do you buy before they arrive? Figure I will need to pick these up over time as I don't want all cream clothes.
05/04/2013 at 10:54
Bunny - was it the red kite one? If so that's the one I'm collecting today, got the matching cot set too.
05/04/2013 at 11:27
Yes I think it is. Not got it out of the box yet but it looks nice and colourful and the animals are cute. Just got in in-store, they didn't have anything else there from the range. Will go with our jungle wall stickers nicely!
05/04/2013 at 11:31
I've decided to do a jungle cross stich for our wall, couldnt find any stickers that were quite what I wanted. You know when you have a specific idea and nothing else will do?!

Thanks all for your good lucks. Scan isn't till 3pm, had a meltdown to H last night worrying about it but feeling more rationale today. Keeping busy - so far I have spent two hours in the garden sorting our veg patch and sorting soil in all pots, hoovered the whole house and done some washing preoccupy myself. H doesn't finish work till 2. H had a lovely birthday yesterday, pil took us out for a nice meal but couldn't fit three courses in due to baby d taking up all the space!
Bg fancy dress sounds like fun
PC the jungle nursery stuff looks great, hope your pleased with it when you pick it up
Daisy men do know nothing
Ally have a great weekend
Popcorn.enjoy dinner tonight
Margot hope you have a great time at the ball, glad potty training is going well
Bunny so glad scan went well!

How did it go Duckford? x
05/04/2013 at 18:36
Picture is rotated, I still haven't mastered how to put pic right way up on here
All is well, had a very thorough look over him and nothing abnormal seen. I know only 70% of abnormalities get detected on scans, so if something presents after he's born we'll deal with it then. At least now I can start to relax for next 20 weeks! Very relieved!
05/04/2013 at 19:22
Fantastic news Duckford. Now relax!
05/04/2013 at 19:40
That's brill news, enjoy the next 20 weeks!
