Hope everyone's well and all went well for Gopher. Hopefully we'll hear from her soon.
Had a productive day yesterday, housework, shopping, washing, gardening and cleaned my saddle and bridle. Didn't do anything to get baby moving though. Had some crap news that my dad has a (thankfully) small cancer in his tonsil. The consultant is very confident that its very treatable potentially with just radiotherapy so I'm positive about it but my mum's in melt down mode. He's having a tooth out today and then a GA weds to have a good look down there. Hopefully baby will arrive before then!
reflexology this morning so can I have some magic vibes it works please?!

Mrs h.. Kiddicare is fab! Wish there was one nearer us... Do you know what car seat you are going for?

MrsH, wish we had a kiddicare nearby. Though my credit card is happy we don't!

Bexy, we plan on BBQing all weekend too!

WH - sounds like you have been very productive! Am so sorry to hear about your day but pleased that the consultant is positive. I can imagine it must be difficult on you all but in particular your mum. Sending your dad lots of positive get better vibes and you lots of baby out ones x
MrsH - we don't have a kiddicare near us either although like the others have said, that's not such a good thing for my credit card!
Ally - 7pm bedtime sounds bliss! My arm is aching loads from the jab today as well. Lady in my yoga class said that hers ached for about two weeks after! I hope she was exaggerating!!
Bexy - great weather for your washing machine to have arrived and for the nappies to be washed! Have fun with the girls this lunchtime. BBQ is definitely in order for us as well this weekend
Rusty - hope all goes well with GD MW and at scan. I predict a weight of 7lb 4oz today!
AFM - Although it's my day off, I have popped into work this morning to get a few outstanding bits done. Am so relieved that my handover maternity notes are now done and ready for my cover to go through on Tuesday when she starts. All going well, it looks like I could be finished by next Friday...
Am planning to head into town this afternoon to buy bits for my hospital bag which I am hoping to have packed by this weekend. Am feeling a lot of pressure down below and MW said that baby was engaged (although she didn't mention by how much) so I feel that I better be prepared just incase! I also need to pick up from final bits for H's birthday this Sunday.
Am absolutely loving this weather - makes everything seem so much better! Hope that you all enjoy your sun-filled days and Libby, if you are reading this, good luck!!

Ferbs...glad your getting work sorted..it felt so much better for me when I knew I had done all I could..... get that hospital bag done this weekend then....nice to know that its one less thing to worry about..... Loving the sunshine too!!

Agh cr*p was just at the end of a very long reply and it all got gobbled up, sob!!! I shall try again....
Have just heard from Gopher and done her BA, big congrats to her and Alocin and good luck to Libby. am loving all these babies popping out this week!
WH - So sorry to hear about your Dad. Great that it seems treatable, hopefully he will know more after Wednesday, but must be such a shock for you all. Good luck at reflexology and really hope it does the trick.
Mrs H - Good luck car seat shopping this weekend!
Ally - Hope you enjoyed the toddler group and are feeling a bit more refreshed after a good sleep.
Bexy - FX this bbq weather holds for you! Did you take photos of your nappies drying? I documented the baby clothes drying on our line, not sure why but felt I should!
Rusty - Good luck at the scan, I'll go for 7lb 13oz!
Ferbs - Have a lovely time for your H's birthday - what have you got planned? Glad you are so sorted with work, sounds like you are really relieved, it will be great when you can properly switch off :)
AFM - Just back from doing a short paediatric first aid course with H. hopefully we won't ever need to use it though! He is now working from home while I am chilling in front of the TV, am feeling quite tired and really enjoying not doing anything for once. I might even throw in a cheeky nap shortly! H's Mum came over yesterday and has knitted us loads of mega cute cardigans and booties, so, so cute, and has made baby's arrival seem very real! No other 'signs' though, so think it was just teasing us with an early arrival. That's fine though for now, I'm not bored or fed up as yet, though obviously can't wait to meet our son or daughter now!
Have a good weekend all - and hope Morph is ok.
Afternoon all, thought I'd update from my hospital appointment today.
Had a scan where baby was measuring at 6lbs 12oz (so only 1oz more than two weeks ago). I questioned the sonographer who checked it all over again and the measurements came out the same.
Took the scan back to clinic and saw a Dr, who asked to see my blood sugar book. She flicked through that and said "who on earth told you you were diabetic?" WTF?!!!!!!!
So goes off and gets GD MW and my consultant and they all stand there looking at everything. Consultant reckons that the scan two weeks ago was massively inaccurate (abdomen measured at the wrong angle?).
Yep, baby is still big but on the 95th percentile line now and not anything they'd be worried about. Consultant says that "some one has to produce the big ones". So after much discussions, the verdict is that I am probably not diabetic but to keep up with the diet and metformin just in case I am. GD MW said she won't see me again until after baby is born if results keep going the way they are. Plus I am allowed to guilt free enjoy my birthday afternoon tea at The Ritz!
Still booked in for my section, which I am mentally prepared for now. I'm not sure I can think about a VBAC now.

Lamby... Have a nap and enjoy the rest! Yes I took photos of the nappys on the line! Looked so cute!
Rusty.. Fab news.. Just shows how wrong they can get it I suppose.. I guess it's better to be over cautious with these things!
03/05/2013 at 16:25
Lamby - I think that a nap sounds like a great idea! I must follow your lead and take a picture of all our baby stuff when I get round to washing it. We only have a couple of bits but I *may* have changed that and gone a bit mad in the baby Gap sale this afternoon...!
H's birthday is on Sunday and we have NCT all day so not really a banging celebration! Going to the pub after with the NCT group and then meeting some friends for dinner that evening. Then on Monday I am planning to take him out for the day and for a nice lunch. May do a picnic or BBQ, especially if the weather is good. We are out for dinner at my inlaws tonight to celebrate with H's family. Our nephew has just learnt to sing Happy Birthday which is so cute!
Rusty - What a c*ck up and how frustrating for you. Good news that you don't have GD but would have been better if you were told that at the beginning. At least there is a silver lining about guilt free afternoon tea. Make sure to stuff yourself silly!
Not seen Morph on here today - hope that she is OK x
03/05/2013 at 16:32
Ferbs.. She posted on a cloth nappy thread earlier so she has been around...
03/05/2013 at 17:04
Hi all, you have guilted me into posting - I was going to keep my misery to myself!
ANyway, ended up back in DAU last night. Tightenings all day increasing to every 3 mins from about 4pm. Rang up and went in about 7pm. I was examined and not dilated. MW rang doc (who happened to be the same one on duty the other day) who suggested painkillers and a tens machine - thanks I;ll strap that on for the next 3 weeks shall I?? I MAY have cried quite a lot at this stage! The MW was lovely to me though and asked him if he would bring my CS forward but he said that was a consultant decision. She then spent this morning tracking down my consultant who went through all my notes and history and has agreed that he would bring my CS forward to 38 weeks BUT there are no slots so I have to keep ringing up to see of anyone delivers early. If I go into labour in the meantime they will do an EMCS.
So I am still in limbo really. 'Contractions' continue - I am sat here breathing through them now but I guess I just have to get on with it. Pondering adopting some 'baby out' techniques but the thought of sex horrifies me (and probably H)
I'll catch up with the thread properly over the weekend but congrats to Alocin and Gopher. Hopefully Libby is cuddling her baby by now as well xxx
03/05/2013 at 17:27
Oh morph you poor thing. Can't believe they can't do anything for you any sooner. I hope that you manage to get a earlier c-section slot but in the meantime the contractions stop x
