Hi Abc, glad to hear all is well baby wise - roll on Christmas holidays!
AR, hope P and you both feel better v soon, it's horrible when the kiddies are poorly - and ourselves.
All well here, although stayed up till nearly midnight and am tired this morning! That'll teach me :) off to Ikea shortly with friends, we went last week, creche is £1 for an hour, cooked breakfast with free tea or coffee is £1.50, it's our new fave thing to do on a Monday morning . Kids love the creche so it's brilliant. Anyway after that, home for lunch, M and I are going to make Christmas cards then she has ballet this afternoon and I have a post office run to do as have started selling off Ms old clothes to make space/money for baby's stuff! Tonight, we have a babysitter!!! So H and I have a cinema date, can't wait :)
Hope everyone coming on later is doing well x

Nice to see you ABC - 3 weeks till a lovely long holiday - brilliant!
AR that's rotten about the cold and lack of sleep. Hope you don't come down too badly.
WE that's a brilliant tradition! I'll remember that about the ikea crèche! What are you off to see at the cinema? We saw gravity on Saturday which would have been great if I could tolerate any level of tension in a film but I had my heart in my mouth for 90mins!!
Busy and productive weekend for us...curtains and canopy hung in the nursery so I got to show it off to family last night! Due to budget cuts at work a lot of my stuff has been cancelled so gonna be twiddling my thumbs till the new year which I hate - the day drags in!
Personal question so feel free not to answer - how much weight have you put on so far? I haven't put weight on in years so to now have reached a stone gain landmark is so strange!!

Morning SP, we are going to see Saving Mr Banks...not hubbys kind of film but it starts at right sort of time and isn't on too long so should be back at a reasonable time for me to go to bed
I weighed myself yesterday, I've put on 8-9lbs. With M I lost 9lbs in first tri as basically couldn't eat, then put on a stone and half from that weight by the time she was born, she was 7lbs 7.5oz. Not sure how quickly that weight went on. If I only put that on this time I'll be surprised!

ABC- atleast work is keeping you busy!
AR- Hope P is better soon and that cold stays away.
Weekender- Your day sounds lovely. Saving Mr Banks looks good, you will have to let us know how it is.
Sweetpea- I know how you feel with not being overly busy, it is a quiet time for our business at the mo, makes the day so long. I have put on about a stone too. I dont think I look any bigger apart from the tummy department.
NLH- Hello, hope 3rd tri is treating you well!
AFM- Had a busy busy weekend. Spent yesterday in london with H, was so busy but we have done mots of our xmas shopping now and I have wrapped mos of it too. We was out for 11 hours and lots of walking so I slept like a log last night! This year has come around so fast, it will be April before I know it!

Hi ABC, roll on the Xmas shutdown!! :D
AR, hope P feels better very soon, and I hope you somehow manage to skip it.
Weekender - AWESOME day you have planned. Enjoy!
Sweetpea - yay to nursery, but boo! to work, it's so ANNOYING when you're not busy and time drags
AFM, good start to the day, bought the office a xmas tree and the girls are outside my room putting it up and doing some festive decorating. It's month end so a tough week and it's nice to start it with frivolity. I was awake at 4am buying maternity gear. Most of the Christmas shopping is done and wrapped and I spent some time yesterday with my sister talking baby stuff, so that's nice. It's been a rough road for her and we're all starting to believe the twins are going to arrive (she's 30 weeks and didn't buy anything until last week!). Hello to all who follow!

Sweetpea, I am very ashamed to say I have put on TWENTY FOUR pounds since June 23rd. However, 10lbs of that was wedding and honeymoon weight. So it's a stone of pregnancy weight. Awful. AWFUL. But I had about 6-8 weeks where I ate like my life depended on it because if I went more than about 30 minutes without food I was a quivering, nauseous teary wreck! I am making more of an effort to be active and watching what I eat a bit more. Haven't put any on for about 3-4 weeks.
With Harry I put on almost five stone. Unbelievable, but actually that's mostly because I didn't work at all throughout and the various symptoms all led me one way... to food!

Oh Bertie well done you! I've never been one for getting it done early until now but I think I don't take my health for granted being pregnant and the more that's done the better! Glad the sleep was good. You earned it!!

Hello :) Hope you don't mind me joining you lovely lot! There's a lot of you I recognise from 1st tri threads, but aside from Monnie you all seem ages ahead of me in the pregnancy. It's like there were 6 weeks where there were no BFPs on the board or something.
Monnie, if it makes you feel any better, I think I've gained 5lbs so far, too, and I'm over a week behind you. My excuse is that I keep coming down with colds and most recently bronchitis, so I'm not very active at all.
Sorry for the lack of personals!

Hi Wispa and welcome to 2nd tri! I promise the next few weeks will absolutely fly in!!
thank you everyone else for sharing re the weight gain....I know it differs for each person and my pregnancy book says that some women put on weight early on and others not till the 3rd tri. I've spend the morning googling average weight gain per week of pregnancy to see what I can expect!
02/12/2013 at 13:35
Sweetpea- i found this online, you may have already of seen it
By the end of your pregnancy, you may weigh about 12.5kg (27.6lb) more than you did before you were pregnant.
It's natural and healthy to put on weight during pregnancy. Your body needs to change to accommodate your growing baby, and to give him the best start in life.
By the time you reach your due date, just over a third of your extra weight will come from your baby, the placenta and amniotic fluid. Here are some averages:
•At birth, a baby weighs about 3.3kg (7.3lb).
•The placenta, which keeps your baby nourished, weighs 0.7kg (1.5lb).
•The amniotic fluid, which supports and cushions your baby, weighs 0.8kg (1.8lb).
The other two thirds of extra weight is due to the changes that happen to your body while you're pregnant. On average:
•The muscle layer of your uterus (womb) grows dramatically, and weighs an extra 0.9kg (2lb).
•Your blood volume increases, and weighs an extra 1.2kg (2.6lb).
•You have extra fluid in your body, weighing about 1.2kg (2.6lb).
•Your breasts weigh an extra 0.4kg (0.9lb).
•You store fat, about 4kg (8.8lb), to give you energy for breastfeeding

Counter- yay to xmas decs, I just went and got some new ones for work so will be putting them up in a minute. Did you order any nice maternity bits?
Monnie- Ha, I loooove shopping! I have had quite a bit of trouble with sleeping too. Are you sleeping on your side? As some people prop themselves up. My boobs itch, do you get that too?
Hi Wispa! Welcome to 2nd Tri
02/12/2013 at 13:48
Bertie thank you! I have something similar in my pregnancy book but was searching online eariler and couldn't find this so that's great thanks!
02/12/2013 at 13:57
bertie, my b00bs dont itch but im getting dreadful pins and needles throughout the night and i find myself waking up to wake my hands up !
i sleep on my side 99% of the time but cant sleep on my left so i am mainly on my right, im trying to get myself out of this habit though !

Late to the thread today so too late for proper personals. Welcome to second tri Wispa! It does seem that there'd little groups of 3 or 4 who are all close together then big gaps.
I have no idea how much weight I've put on, I don't really know what I weighed beforehand either...I've never really been a scales person, I tend to go by how my clothes feel or the size of my arms! I guess I might be weighed at some point by the midwife, it'd be interesting to know.
Busy morning so far. H had a second interview for a job that comes with a great payrise so keeping my fingers crossed for him. The extra money would make maternity leave a lot more comfortable so really hoping it's good news.
Pregnancy wise I'm still feeling pretty good. My back was sore last night/this morning though but as I still feel like I'm getting off very lightly during this pregnancy I'm trying not to complain! Ordered a couple of bits from GAP last week so looking forward to having a couple more clothes that fit!
