Morning ladies, hope you've all had a lovely weekend. The weather has been great here but I found myself getting too warm! Our nursery furniture came on Saturday and I'm really pleased with how it's looking :-) I was in there yesterday and the smell of 'new' fabric was annoying me so I washed all the bedding, clothes and towels! Wonder how many times I'll wash it with 19 weeks to go, H thought I was mad but my mum came round and enjoyed seeing all the little baby clothes hanging up to dry :-)
Scan today at 3:30. Hopefully baby will be behaving so the sonographer can see everything they need to. At least it's another afternoon out of the office! This week should be good though as got my little sister on her work experience for the week :-)
How's everyone feeling? I'm still tired and this last week my skin has gone oily and a few spots have appeared :-( this was not the kind of 'glow' that I was hoping for!
08/07/2013 at 07:13
Morning BE, hope your scan goes well. My skin has gone really oily too, and my hair all dry and frizzy. I think the glow is a myth!
AFM, sorry I've been AWOL for a while. Went on holiday to Devon and only got back very late last night. Struggling to sleep in the heat, plus W is also waking really early because of heat and has had the runs for a few days so was up at .4 yesterday and 5.30 today so pretty nackered!
Good news though is that baby has started moving and wriggling loads in the last week. Ive only been feeling faint kicks but now I can see my whole stomach jumping around under my clothes its lovely.
Have I missed much in the last couple of weeks? Hope everyone is managing ok in the heat

Morning BE, what furniture have you chosen? I bet it's so exciting to see it all in there? The weather was gorgeous here too, I couldn't sleep last night because if it so I'm a bit grumpy because of it! Good luck with the scan! Let us know how you get on.
I've got a busy day today, boooo! All I want to do is sit in the sunshine. Hopefully this week goes quickly, and then I'm on a hen do on Saturday which I'm looking forward to.
08/07/2013 at 07:29
Sorry I missed you JT. Hope you enjoyed Devon despite the lack of sleep SMS heat. Good that you're seeing baby moving about more now too.

Enjoy your scan BE, I love our anomaly scans (2 because the monster wasn't in the right position for everything first time) - it's amazing how much detail you can see.
JT, sounds like you need another holiday to recover from the last one! I hope you have a few gentle days planned.
Imp, hope your busy day flies by so you can enjoy some sun this evening!
AFM, struggling with the heat. I find myself actually panting sometimes which is most attractive, as you can imagine! I did manage to get a couple of hours gardening done over the weekend but I must have overstretched my hamstrings bending over (I can't crouch because of the SPD) so together with the lack of sleep due to the heat I'm a bit grumpy today too! Still, it's a relatively straightforward day at work - no students in this morning as they have exams this afternoon so it's just exam prep and invigilating all day. Lovely hubby put our big fans in my car (we used to run a dance company so have massive commercial use ones to keep the dance floor cool) so if it's hot at work we can keep the place cool(er). Thankfully!
Hope everyone has a good day!

BE - We will be needing a flash of this furniture!
JT - Hope you had a lovely holiday! I love it down there.
Imp - What you up to on the hen do?
Mrs 50s - What a lovely hubby! and glad you have a quiet day! Mine will not be :-(
Had a lovely weekend in the sun at my parents house. OH was at the Rolling Stones in Hyde Park and stayed over night so I stayed at my parents house. Sister was there for a bit too. Also had a lovely brunch with my bestie on Sunday, she is 10 weeks pregnant :-) and then a BBQ at my cousins on sunday so I got to see my god children. Lovely weekend. Tough walk to work though this morning! Hi to all that follow!

Morning all you lovely ladies!
BumpEnvy..good luck at your scan today! Looking forward to a photo :o)
Jellytot, hope you enjoyed it here in sunny Devon! Did you like it? Glad you are feeling movements, it's lovely and really helps me to bond with baby. OH laughs when I tell it off for kicking me at night! I am a loon! ;)
lmp, oo a hen do! I think the last one I went on was my SILs back in 2000! lol
Mrs 50s, I cannot stand the heat at the best of times. You must be really fed up with it and the spd, hope it gets cooler soon!
Pixie, sounds like a lovely weekend! :o)
Afm, 19+4 and scan day today! Nothing to report other than the usual aches and pains, no sickness for a while now which is good.
Met the home birth midwife last week who is lovely and can see no reason not to birth at home, she mentioned the stairs may be an issue for the paramedics if they are needed and OH cut in with 'oh, they will be fine'. She looked a bit taken aback until I explained he is a paramedic! lol. Makes me feel more at ease that he is here aswell as two mws.
Had a few issues with the ILs but there is a thread about that so won't bore you all!
have a lovely day all x
Sounding very organised on here nursery furniture! Making me realise I haven't done anything yet except get a pram off eBay! I don't have much of a bump so think I'm still in denial a bit! ha ha 19 weeks on Thurs so maybe the 2nd scan will make it all very real!
I've not been too bad in the heat but think its because I'm not that big yet! Had a good weekend friends 30th (only went to the meal!) so good luck imp with surrounding yourself with drunkeness! ha ha

Mrs 50's I know what you mean about the heat, it has zapped my energy! Enjoy your quiet days
LP, we're off to Oxford. We're punting during the day then our for a meal and dancing in the evening. I'm really looking forward to it, even though I'll be sober!
It sounds as though you had a lovely weekend.

BE- I agree with LP, definitely need a nursery flash! Glad everything is coming together now. Good luck for your scan and I hope baby is behaving!
JT- Baby kicks are amazing! I quite like feeling selfish and sitting feeling baby kicking without anyone else knowing what she is upto :) I figure she isn't just going to be all mine forever so making the most of it while I can!
Imp- The last thing I want today is to be in work! I can think of 1004824382938 and 1 things I would rather be doing! haha
Mrs50s- Try to take it easy today and get those fans going to keep you cool.
AFM- Well, I haven't stopped all weekend! The tree fiasco continues. We stand the weekend taking all of the smaller branches off the main tree trunks, packing the smaller bits in bags and taking them to the tip and making a pile of bigger trunks that we need a van to move. After 2 pretty full days doing it we still have a pile of trees stopping us sitting outside! The end is definitely in sight though and we should have it cleared tonight apart from the big bits that are in a neat pile and not causing too much of a nuisance!
Also, we have a bathroom sink that ended up on the bathroom floor last night. Don't ask.. Nothing has broken so just need to get it sorted today!
Apart from that I'm feeling great. Not struggling in the heat any more than usual apart from night time and generally just loving being pregnant. Feeling very happy today! xx

LP- Sounds like you had a lovely weekend!
Chimp- Good luck for your scan! Flash us a picture later if you can :) Glad the midwives are positive about the home birth.
RosyLee- We haven't got too much baby stuff either. I think it will all come together towards the end for us, much like everything else we ever do.

Hi all, I'm 'officially' moving over tomorrow so just wanted to come say hi everyone and I'll do personals tomorrow when I'm not so far behind!
Quickly though, Mrs Bass I hope your first day went ok lovey xx
08/07/2013 at 17:36
All good at scan :-) baby was still misbehaving but they eventually managed to look at everything!
08/07/2013 at 17:39
Hi everyone, late check in from me - and on ny phone, so sorry, no personals. Feeling a bit shattered after yesterday (15mile endurance ride in that heat!) Also ended up having to do repairs to my trailer as when we arrived at the venue (hour & bit drive away) as we discovered one of the horses must have fallen on route and got up under the partition and caused significant damage to internal partition - twisted metal & rivets ripped out. However both horses were fine. Not a scratch on either of them!!?? Both of them got on the trailer happily after the ride aswell, so neither traumatised or anything!?? The ride itself was stunning. I'm so glad we went.
Seeing the midwife on Wednesday for 16week app. Sure she is gonna have kittens if I mention what I've been up to. Hehe :-)
08/07/2013 at 17:47
Bit late for me today but thought i should avoid personal internet time on my first day (and my desk faces the whole office :-( )
Managed to catch up at lunch on my phone but annoyingly I cant log on with my phone!
Thanks for the good luck missdeedee! Welcome to 2nd Tri!
Today went really well, really nice team and looks like we will be busy, especially the next few weeks!
Unfortunately this meant that I didnt have a chance to out myself to my manager! Im going to head in early tomorrow and hope to grab her then! I felt sick with nerves this morning, hopefully it wont happen again tomorrow!
I think I may have felt movement this morning, I was lieing in bed and felt a weird sensation, almost as if something was flipping or doing somersaults in my tummy! There was nothing else I could put it down to like gas or needing a wee. Although it could have been the start of my nerves!!
BE- great photo!!
08/07/2013 at 18:19
Imp- I'm the same about bring unable to sleep in the heat. Although I'm happy to put up with it as we don't get many sunny days so making the most of it
Mrs50s- hope the big fans have helped today
LP- sounds like you had a lovely weekend
Chimp- I absolutely loved Devon. Never been before but would definitely go back. Must be reassuring for you knowing H is a paramedic. Has he ever had to deliver a baby on a call out? Would he like to be involved in your delivery or does he just want to stay head end?
RL- you are already fairly organised if you have a pram. It's one of the biggest decisions to make I think
Sam- I bet you will be so relieved when you finally have rid of all the tree stuff. And I totally agree with you about the living being pregnant thing. As much as I am hot and uncomfortable I am really enjoying it at the moment , 2nd tri is definitely the best bit
Miss feeder- hello and welcome
BE- lovely clear scan photo
HF- the ride sounds lovely, shame about the trailer though
Mrs bass- good luck telling work, I hope it goes ok
AFM- up to my eyeballs in washing all my holiday clothes and as I still don't have a washing line up outside , drying them on an airer is taking forever, not good .
Hope everyone has a lovely evening and a cool and breezy sleep tonight
08/07/2013 at 18:24
BE - Brilliant scan pic, so pleased for you
jellytot - hope you had a lovely time in Devon? Awww lovely baby movements :-)
Imp - hope your busy day wasn't too painful
Mrs 50's - hope you had a nice, cool day!
Chimpanzee, how was your scan?
Sam - sounds like an interesting weekend at yours! Make sure you relax and take it easy too.
Hello missdeedee *waves like a crazy lady*. Can't wait to see you in here 'properly' tomorrow x
HF - that's weird about your horses but glad they are ok and its just the trailer that's broken.
Mrs Bass - that's a shame that you couldn't say anything today and I understand that sicky/nervy feeling well! You'll feel so much better once you've told them, I promise. Ooooh I hope that was baby movements!
AFM - I think my bump is starting to grow. I put on a top that I wore last week, this morning, and there was a gap between the bottom of my top and the top of my trousers. eeeek! I had to wear a nude vest to bridge the gap! I also have tingly boobs and an itchy stomach today so I think I'm having a growth spurt or something. I hope this is the start of my proper bump (not just bloating and fat) - can't wait :-)
08/07/2013 at 19:41
If I can't grab her tomorrow, i think i'll email her to request a meeting!
I told H about the tummy feelings and he said "yeah, it was probably nerves" :-( spoil sport!
