Manic weekend here which was fab but tiring, and finally today it's scan day, feeling quite nervous but hopefully everything will be alright and if baby behaves, we'll be finding out the sex - and then doing a little bit of shopping! It's at 2.20 so will update later.
I've sent Jacob to nursery in pants today for the first time, he's been doing really well but I'm feeling nervous for him and hoping he doesn't come home with too many pairs of wet pants tonight!
Hope everyone else is well this morning and that those who've been feeling rough are on the mend.

Morning Margot. Good luck for the scan, and dry pants vibes coming Jacobs way!
Pretty quiet weekend for me, H was up to his eyes in DIY in the nursery, but its finally done, can start ordering cots and things now! And I have started on my contribution which is a jungle themed cross stitch for the wall. It finally dawned on H that me being 25 weeks pregnant means only 15 weeks to go - his face was a picture! Bless him!
Off an hour up the road for a meeting so back later to say Hi to everyone else.

Morning Margot! Good luck at the scan! I hope you enjoy finding out the sex! Do let us know how you get on x
Hi Pc, Well done on completing the nursery. I’m impressed how quickly things happen in your household!
AFM – had a weekend of getting little things done. Got a plumber arranged to sort the nursery radiator (which is defunct), picked paint, chosen a carpet, started cutting triangles for the bunting. Yesterday I was at the Cake and Bake show in Manchester. I love cake decorating but had to restrain myself from buying too much as haven’t the same energy to do it anymore!

Margot - glad you had a good weekend. Good luck for the scan later, hope baby behaves and you can find out the sex. Good luck to Jacob too!
Porkchop - That's so exciting about the nursery, I can't wait to get started on ours. Unfortunately there's a lot of sorting out of the junk that's in that room before we can think about it!
AFM - Saw my friends yesterday for brunch and told them about the baby which was lovely. They were all really excited. Had MS again this morning, rubbish! Hoping today goes quickly.
Hello to all that follow.

Missed you PW - am very jealous that you went to the Cake and Bake show, I really wanted to go when it was in London but couldn't get there. Judging by where you and Porkchop are at with your nurseries I have about 10 weeks to sort out the clutter in our spare bedroom, not sure it's going to be long enough

PC, sounds like you are making great progress with your nursery - ours is such a slow project, other stuff keeps getting in the way!
PW, Cake & Bake show sounds fab! What fabric are you using for your bunting? I want to get started on carseat and pram blankets this week if I can.
Popcorn, boo to MS but how lovely to tell your friends.
08/04/2013 at 09:13
Margot - Happy Scan day - hope everything is ok :)
Pork Chop - exciting you can start buying things :)
PW - cake & Bake show sounds fun.
Popcorn - great that your friends were all happy. sorry you MS isnt clearing up :(

Felt worse than if i had drunk all night on Saturday. felt dreadful. yesterday coz i felt so ill i wasnt able to meet with Borris :( so laid on the sofa feeling miserable all day with hubs. feeling better today so thats good.

Margot - best of luck this afternoon, I'm really excited about finding out what you're having!
PC - I'm also impressed with how quickly you seem to have got so much done!
PW - sounds like a productive weekend. I wish I had the patience and talent to decorate cakes well.
Popcorn - Sorry you're still sufferinig from MS, hope it does one soon!
AFM - had a fairly quiet weekend, the party went really well, although I didn't go as Prince Eric in the end, I couldn't get any of the right trousers or jackets to fit, so I used a nun costume I already had and some dreadlocks from H's dressing up bag (he has a huge bag of fancy dress attire collected over the years!) to do Sister Act, although it's not an 80's film it6's not far in to the 90's!
Bump seems to be really sprouting now, need to take some more pics.
Today is a busy day, off to meet a friend and her almost 4 year old at a farm, then another friend is meeting us this afternoon with her 5 month old. Also have a Tesco delivery, and have already logged in to do some work (boo) and called the water company to report a leaking manhole cover that's running under our garden shed!
Have a good day all,

Missed you there Twink, as a fellow migraine sufferer, you have my upmost sympathy. Make sure you drink plenty of fluids x
08/04/2013 at 09:25
Margot - Good luck for the scan, hope it goes well and I'm looking forward to finding out whether your team pink or blue!
PC - Glad you got your nursery sorted, that's the next big thing on our list but we need to get rid of a load of furniture that's in our spare room first.
PW - I hope they do one of those cake shows in the south soon, I saw it advertised and would have loved to have gone but thought it was too far to travel for me.
Popcorn - Hope the morning sickness goes quickly for you!
Twink - Sorry to hear you was poorly yesterday but glad you're feeling better today.
BG - The fancy dress party sounds like good fun! Busy day for you, enjoy!
AFM - Pretty quiet weekend for me, so much so that yesterday I was driving myself mad getting bored! Not sure how I'm going to cope with the few weeks I have off before baby arrives, think I need to start a new hobby! Nothing to report baby wise, just counting down the weeks until baby's here now. Work have said I have to use up all my annual leave up before I start my maternity in July and I can't believe how much of a struggle its been to fit it all in! I still have 4 days left to use after taking the days I want off as I don't want to use them so I think I'm going to treat myself to a few long weekends when I can.
Have a good day all!

Popocorn, I think we’re going to have a few weeks spare tbh, but have heard paint and carpets should be sorted a few months in advance to give them time to settle/stop smelling. So aiming for end of April for those, and then have a leisurely 3 months to decorate and set up the furniture. Hope you’re MS clears up soon. Mine stopped dead on 16 weeks so hopefully be soon.
Twink, that’s rubbish you suffered worse than a hangover! Not fair!
Margot, I’m doing blue, white and lime green bunting. Have bought a bundle fat quarters off ebay with stripes/stars/spots/plain. Hoping it’ll look okay. Are you knitting, quilting or crocheting blankets? I think bunting is about the limit of my sewing skills!
BG, glad the party went well! Sounds like a productive day already for you! Enjoy seeing your friends
TT, Know what you mean about mat leave. Luckily my parents aren’t far away and sister works part time, so think I’ll be roping them in to entertaining me! I’m using AL before ML too – 3 weeks straight before due date and then Mondays/Fridays for the final month. Really looking forward to only doing 3 day weeks!
Boris, Good work on the budgeting! I started off well but not reviewed it in ages. Nursery furniture is next thing to tackle. Not long to wait until scan now!
08/04/2013 at 10:09
Twink - that's horrible about your migraine. Glad you are feeling better today.
BG - I love the idea that your H has a dressing up box. Enjoy your day!
TT - I am the same as you, I hate to be bored. I'm already making a little list in my head of jobs that I can do when I'm on ML and I have ages to go yet!
Boris - don't feel too bad about the weight, I have put on way more than I thought I would but that's mainly because I haven't had the energy to do any exercise. Not long til scan now woo!
PW - hope I don't have too much longer with the MS, I reckon I could cope with another 2 weeks at the most so hopefully you are right! My Mum had HG when she was pregnant with me so I know I am getting off lightly really!
08/04/2013 at 10:27
PW, no knitting or crocheting here, I don't have the coordination or patience! I've got fleece and cotton jersey to make my own version of a Morrck hoody using a tutorial I found on a blog. Looks fairly easy and I plan to make two so I can have one for carseat and one permanently in the pram. Your bunting sounds lovely, I look forward to seeing a pic once it's done!
08/04/2013 at 11:06
morning everyone, there are lots of people about today! Finally got on the computer so I could add a pic and ticker.
Margot - hope the scan goes well and baby is well. Let us know how it goes and if you are team pink or blue!
porkchop - wish I had the patience to sit down and do something like a cross stitch! You will have to give us a flash once you have done some.
pirate wife - baking yum! Were there many free samples of cakes to nibble on? I don't bake but sounds like a good day out to me!
popcorn - It is really nice sharing in the excitement with friends isn't it? You will sort the spare room out. We have sorted ours, then decided to decorate the living room and it has therefore been filled up with stuff again!
twink - glad you are feeling better today, and at least had a good day Saturday. Migraines are rubbish.
BG - hope you have fun at the farm, and it is nice weather where you are. Glad the party went well and definitley take some more bump shots!
twinkletoes - hopefully the weather will begin to get nicer so that when you have days off you can enjoy the sunshine! Just think of your days off as pampering time for you.
boris - not long until your scan now! Glad you have sorted your budget and are ready to order. Thats the best bit I think, getting stuff for baby, makes it feel really exciting!
We had a successful shop yesterday and bought a travel system, with carry cot, pushchair and car seat. Its a conchord neo one in black. Brand means nothing to me as i have to say I have only heard of a handful before, but it was easy for me and H to put up and down and change the seating bits. Parents all liked it too, although I doubt my FIL will ever come out shopping with me again! He couldn't believe that we were in Kiddiecare for almost 3 hours, although we did have a coffee break inbetween when deciding what pram to go for. We had to get the display model as it was last seasons design and it was the only one they had left, but it was reduced and we got a further 10% off making it almost half the price of this seasons design, making my dad happy (parents are buying it for us as our baby gift). It si amazing how much things have changed since me and H were babies. My mum and MIL kept asking what all these different things were for and couldn't understand why you would put a baby in a sleeping bag, have a room thermometer or not have a cot bumper. It was funny. They have also both told me the trick to it all is putting baby in their own room as soon as possible, obviously they understand the new guidelines, but find it strange that so much has changed as we have grown up without issues!
08/04/2013 at 11:22
Morning everyone, so sorry that I can't manage personals again (I do always read and keep up to date!) but just wanted to say to bunny that my mum said I was in my own room as soon as I was sleeping through the night, which was 8 weeks. She does understand the guidelines but can't believe how much things have changed!
08/04/2013 at 11:40
Ahh Margot, that’s more my sort of project. Sounds lovely. I liked the idea of making little cotton tunic dresses too, but alas being team blue, that’s not happening!
Bunny, there was a disappointing amount of free samples, or even cakes to buy! It was more equipment and decorations on offer. Tbh, I don’t think I’d recommend going. Glad you had a good weekend – yay for buying a pram!
Knees, hope you’re well. Things have definitely changed, although not sure I’d be as aware as I am if I wasn’t using MD.
08/04/2013 at 13:29
Afternoon! Back from meeting, managed to mis the staff meeting here, what a shame ;-)
PW/BG - it doesnt seem quick to me when the house is upside down!! To be fair to H he is doing a great job, and when he's not at work he's doing DIY! Dont think weve spent a weekend together for about 2 months and trying to persuade him to have an afternoon off doesnt go down well! He wants it all done ASAP. He's also done it all himself, with some help from my dad, I said we could get someone in to get it done quicker and less stress for him but he's not having that either! I luffs him I do!
TT -can you not jsut tag your leave onto the beginning of your ML and effectively start your ML officially closer to your due date?
Pop - hope the MS goes soon, I started to feel better about 14 weeks so fingers crossed for you.
Twink - glad youre feeling better.
Bunny - yay for getting a travel system!
Knees - poor show on the personals from - only joking!! Hope you get some more time to yourself soon.
08/04/2013 at 13:30
Afternoon ladies I've not long woke up from a post night shift nap so not able to do personals.
Margot best of luck with scan -let us know how it goes
All very exciting re the nursery and pram talk. We're two weeks with no vomiting now! *whispers so baby D can't hear*
08/04/2013 at 13:31
Morning knees. It is amazing howuch things change in a short time.
That's a shame pirate wife, but I suppose it I'd for the equipment rather than food!
You lot are all so talented making blankets, pictures, clothes etc. Wish I had some idea of where to start with things like that!
