Morning all, hope everyone is coping okay with the heat and not suffering too much.
We had a lovely day yesterday, a trip to the pub then a family barbeque for Jacob's birthday which was made even better by Andy Murray winning the tennis. Back to normal today, school and nursery, I have MW this afternoon which should be uneventful. Baby still nice and active despite the weather, and counting down the days till the end of term!

Hope J had a lovely day, sounds like a perfect birthday to me!
We also had a great weekend spent at my IL's at the seaside. Girls played in the sea and made sandcastles. It was really hot last night but I was wiped out from all that sea air. So pleased for Murray, wish I'd put a tenner on it now!
I have my GTT this morning and whooping cough jab then off to work. Looking forward to the end of term so I can have some time off with the girls.
Hope everyone has a good day,

M - glad he had a good birthday. Not long until the end of term now!
N - sounds like a fab weekend. Hope the GTT goes well.
AFM - had a long day yesterday, me and A trekked 1.5 hours on two trains and a bus to Blackheath to take part in the race for life with my mum, neice, my neice's other nan and my mum's German Shepherd who was a mini celeb in his pink Tshirt and fairy wings. We ambled around and did it in just over 1.5 hours. I suprisingly felt and feel fine but did fall asleep on the sofa last night! I've raised over £700, very pleased with that.
Today I have no plans other than to catch up on the housework I've avoided for the last week.

Sounds like a lovely weekend Margot. Hope mw goes well
Noggin - hope you're not too hungry doing GTT. Sounds like you had a lovely weekend too
BG - well done, that's a great amount you raised! You must have been shattered
AFM - 38+2 today. Fingers crossed that this is my last week of pregnancy and consultant books me in for next Mon when I see her on Friday. After persuasion from CK I have decided to give my cloth nappies a go, was changing my mind but she convinced me lol so I ordered everything I'll need over the weekend and had all the bamboo stuff soaking in the bath overnight. Worked out that what I've spent so far would only keep a baby in disposables for 5 months, fx I get on with them ok.
Hi to everyone that follows :-)
08/07/2013 at 08:02
M - glad you had a nice weekend!
N - good luck for the GTT.
BG - catching up on house work doesnt sound fun!
AFM - pretty good weekend, catching up with a few friends, pottering about, watching tennis etc! I am pretty fed up with being pregnant now to be honest though, everything hurts and its too hot, but I could still do with a week or so of chill time, think I'm in denial that I am having a baby soon! H's back has been good for months, but decided to go to pot yesterday which is not good timing, its so unfair! Today I am off to see my gran and sit in the shade for a few hours, then tonight I'm out for dinner with my mum and sister.

Ally - youre braver than me, I couldnt be doing with the faff of cloth!

Margot – hope Jacob enjoyed his day, how was the cake? Hope mw goes well this afternoon.
Noggin – being at the seaside in this weather must have been gorgeous for the girls! Hope the GTT and whooping cough jab both go well, and your arm doesn’t ache too much after.
Bridget – Go you with doing race for life while pregnant, I decided to give it a miss this year, and in the heat! Congratulations on the £700 – you should defo be proud of yourself with that!
Ally – I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you on Friday to get the news you’re wanting! Good on you for trying out the cloth nappies, we’re hoping to use them too once baby reaches 10lb (we’re going for the traditional terry squares). It would defo save us a lot of money in the long run.
Porkchop – sounds like you had a good weekend and another exciting day ahead of you. Just think not too much longer and then your baby will be here and you’ll forget about all those things that made you uncomfortable.
AFM – I usually love the sun, but this weekend, I’ve spent a lot of it indoors the heat was just making me so uncomfortable. Our garden is a proper suntrap which only gets some shade at certain times of the day. But it did mean that my hospital bag is now packed!

Margot - Sound like you had a good weekend. Good luck at the MW. When you say baby's moving a lot despite the weather is it expected they don't move so much when it's this hot? I've noticed a lack of movements this weekend, I'm not worried but movements don't feel as strong. Wondered whether it was the heat?
Noggin - Good luck with your GTT and whooping cough jab
BG - Well done you doing that and raising all that money!
Ally - Fingers crossed for you getting a date.
PC - Not good about your H's back, hope it gets better soon! Know the feeling about sick of being pregnant now, I've not really had any problems but it would be so nice to sit in the garden with a fruity cider! he he!
Sapphire - Glad you've got your bag packed
AFM - Didn't do much this weekend as H was on nights so I sat in the garden and met friends for a potter round town and the local garden centre sat and sun. The heat doesn't bother me in the day, I'm happy to sit out in it but at night its unbearable! Our thermostat said 26.5 degrees last night, I was up almost every hour as it was so hot. I gave in in the end and left the fan on all night. Not sure I want to go into labour right now as it will be horrible being in hospital in this weather, plus bringing a baby home in this heat won't be nice for baby. Oh well I won't be complaining if it decides to come early!
Today I'm off to do the food shop and need to do some cleaning at home (although it may be too hot to clean!) H's parernity leave starts today as his work made him book it off so he's off until 31st July, really hoping baby does come a little early so we can make the most of his time off! Aquanatal tonight too.
Have a good day everyone
Think it's about time I joined 3rd tri, no? Pretty scary stuff!
M - Happy birthday to Jacob, sounds like you had a nice day making the most of the weather. Tennis was great wasn't it?
N - lovely to have been able to spend the day by the sea. Hope your GTT and jab goes ok today.
BG - Wow, congratulations on the Race for Life, that's a great amount that you've raised. Boo to housework though :(
Ally - woo for cloth nappies! I've been slowly taking advantage of different offers I've seen over the last couple of months, hoping to be a true convert as well!
PC - sorry about your H's back, that's not good, hope it heals soon. Have fun with your Gran today, keep out of the sun! Enjoy dinner tonight.
S - well done on getting your hospital bag packed, at least you the hot weather made you productive!
AFM - I invested £2.99 in a mini paddling pool yesterday and spent a loooooong time sitting in the shade with my feet in it in the garden, best money I've ever spent! Had H's brother and his partner round for BBQ last night which was nice. Woke up roasting hot in the middle of the night and then baby was kicking loads so it was almost impossible to get back to sleep. Feel a bit sick today but I think it's just the heat, lots of water and shoving my face in front of my desk fan today I reckon :)
Hope you all have a good day x

Margot, glad you enjoyed the weekend. Have you got two weeks left until end of term?
Noggin, good luck for the GTT! Seaside sounds amazing, we're hourrrss from a beach. Could definitely have gone for a dip yesterday!
BG, £700, that's great! Well done! You should be very proud in that heat
Ally, I'm sure you'll save loads with the cloth nappies. Everyone who uses them seems to love them, but I'm definitely too lazy to bother!
PC, totally with you on the 'too hot, too pregnant' stuff. Wish we'd had this lovely summer last year instead!
Sapphire, yay for hospital bag being packed! Not much shade in our garden either.. which is usually fab! Fx for a bit of cloud later in the week
AFM - First day of mat leave here! Very surreal and a bit worried how restless I'm going to be this week. I've got lots of little jobs to do but no energy to do them. My mum is coming over for lunch today and to hoover for me (bless her), and got a grocery shop being delivered. Would like to get hospital bags sorted before being full term tomorrow too! Best check the lists!
Had a nice weekend - went to a nice hotel for our anniversary. Best part was a dip in their spa's pool. I felt so light and comfortable!! LOVED it! I've now found an aquanatal class 30 mins away on Wednesday which I really think I might go to.

Margot glad J had a good birthday, hope mw goes ok
Noggin hope your GTT goes ok
BG well done for raising £700
Ally fx you get booked in for next week
PC hope H's back eases up soon, with your sciatica, you'll be a right pair! Enjoy your day
Sapphire yay to bag packing, the sun is too much when we've got an extra body on board
Twinkletoes sounds a nice weekend, really hope baby comes soon whilst H is off, that's really weird to get him to take it before due date
Popcorn the paddling pool sounds great!
PW glad you had a good anniversary!
Afm I have hardly done anything this weekend, just sat in the garden in the shade reading. Watched Wimbledon yesterday. Today I am going to my friends for a catch up she's due 4/5 weeks after me.

Margot - hope MW appt went/ goes ok this afternoon
Noggin - lovely you went to the seaside yesterday, I'm very jealous. It's a good hour to a beach from here
BG -well done on Race for life. Rubbish that you are doing housework when it's so nice outside.
Ally - how exciting if you don't have much longer to wait. Sounds like you're well prepared too!
Porkchop - you're so near the end now, don't wish it away. Am sure being heavily pregnant in this weather is preferable to giving birth and sealing with newborn in the heat!
Sapphire - well done on packing your bag. That's my task for this week.
TT - if hubby is off I'd make him do the cleaning! Heat at night is a bit rubbish but it helps if you can have a cool bath before bed. Last night I slept inn just a vest on top of duvet
Popcorn - paddling pool is great. My son has barley played in his, but I've had my feet in it loads!
PW- sounds like you had a lovely weekend and quite relaxed day today too.
Duck ford- it's nice to have a friend due at a similar time. Once your babies are 5/6 months old the difference will be so little.
Phew, that seemed a lot!
Me -weekend involved no rest on Saturday due to 5 am wake up and then a day out in Bristol. However our son stayed with mum on Saturdsu night so Sunday we got to lie in until 9am! We then went to hers for the rest of the day. Caught some of the Grand Prix and the Murray match. We got a few new baby clothes this weekend, and nursery clean and painted and ready to assemble cot etc.
Today we saw consultant for ELCS. It was a very quick appointment, not as many questions etc as I thought. She was lovely and got her diary out and said "right, when do you want to have this baby?" And gave me a choice of 4 days! We picked one that was the furthest, just to cook baby as much as possible! Feels weird knowing that is when baby is coming. Well, 99% chance that is when it will come anyway.
Mission for this week is to pack my bag for hospital, just in case! (And also because the baby clothes from last time are in a big jumble in our room and need sorting!)

Hmmm, I've not really done much/any housework at all. Unless you count watering the garden aka me and A chasing each other around with a hose housework...
Also just remembered I have the next Daisy Birthing class tonight. Really should catch a nap when A eventually goes down...
08/07/2013 at 15:36
Margot - Glad it was a nice weekend for J's birthday
Noggin - hope the GTT went well.
BG - well done for tace for life. Saw the pics on FB. Looked a really hot day too. Surely chasing A with the hose is some form of housework ;)
Ally - fingers crossed you can get booked on Friday. That's exciting. Will you be our first graduate?
PC - hope you had a nice day with your Gran? Enjoy dinner.
Sapphire - hope you don't struggle too much in the heat. It is pretty intense at time. Well done on bag packing.
TT - hope your H does get some time with baby. Be ashame to miss it.
Popcorn - hope you sleep better tonight. We have our ceiling fan on constantly. Too hot for me otherwise. Least H can put another blanket on if he's too cold.
PW - hope you enjoyed your first day of mat leave? Sounds like it was a busy one
Duckford - sounds like a nice relaxed weekend
IDC - exciting youi have your date. Are you sharing it?
AFM - another very hot day here. Stayed indoors all day. I had my growth scan this morning and it looks like baby will not be a whopper like her sister. D was 11lb 7oz!! Consultant was very impressed that I delivered her naturally with minimal assistance. He also said there is no need to book an induction and to just let nature take it's course. I kind of wanted a more definite plan as going 11days over again is my biggest anxiety. I am in so much pain and made that very clear that it is now preventing me doing alot of things like basic childcare but he wouldn't be moved on his decision. He was nice about though. Got another growth scan at 37weeks so see what happens there. So have to wait and see.

Had a lovely weekend, went to visit friends in Solihull on Saturday. It's a 2 hr drive each way but H did all the driving and I just sat in the garden when we were there which was lovely as the kids just all played together and entrtained themselves. Sunday though i was absolutely exhausted and then around 4pm started having contraction. Got all excited when they didn't ease off in the bath, but of course by 3am they had stopped. I kind of knew at the time it was wishful thinking, I'm 38 weeks tomorrow and Zoe was born at 40+11 so I doubt anything is going to happen early but one can but wish.
With travelling to Solihull I decided it was probably sensible to pack my hospital bag so it is now properly done. Seems a bit surreal tbh.
Oh, and my cloth nappies are also out on the line. I hadn't intended to use them straight away but if it is going to be this hot and nappies will be flashed then they need to be pretty ;-)
