It's a very long read! I will upload plenty of photos as a reward for anyone who makes it through!
Monday 11th November
Had a bit of a lazy morning as not slept well for the past week due to a horrible chesty cough. Whilst getting dressed just after 12, realised I was bleeding, bright and heavy. Called H then my mum and then the hospital. Hospital is about 40 mins from us and H works close to the hospital, my mum lives next door to us so she drove me up and H met us there. Maternity triage was really busy and we were waiting for an hour before they saw us. I was monitored and reassured that everything was fine, a Dr checked my cervix with a speculum and I had a big bloody show there but cervix closed. So all fine to go home and the midwife commented that she thought I'd be back soon. Got a KFC on the way home as it was now almost 8pm. Only managed 2 hours sleep as back was achy and I was getting period cramps.
Tuesday 12th NovemberFelt really fed up, kept getting aches and felt like my body was teasing me with symptoms! Had midwife in the afternoon and just broke down in floods of tears. She said she thought baby would be here by the end of the week (likely 2-3 days from my show) and told me to go home, relax and have some hot curry, hot bath and hot sex (and a pineapple!) didn't feel like the sex though so skipped that one! Wednesday 13th NovemberFelt really relaxed after seeing the midwife. Spent the day pottering at home and cleaning the house.Thursday 14th NovemberStarted feeling fed up again as the day went on, aches coming and going again and starting to feel like I was just imagining things. Had a small show And decided to have little glass of wine to relax and sobbed on H for a while saying that I didn't want to go 2 weeks over and be induced. Went to bed about 11pm.Friday 15th NovemberWas woken at 2am by a strong period cramp and had to make a dash to the toilet for a 'clear out'. Got back into bed and realised that the cramps were coming every 8 minutes so got up at 3 to have a cuppa, didn't want to wake H in case it was nothing again. H gets up at 5:30 for work and found me on the sofa doing some cross-stitching for the nursery! Told him not to get excited but I thought I was having early contractions. H got ready for work (has to leave at 6:45) but by the time he was due to go I felt I didn't want to be alone so he decided to take the day off. Told him that I doubted anything would happen today but felt like things were starting. Typically, the 'contractions' eased off over the morning so off we went for a brisk 3 mile walk. By 14:30 I was just getting the odd random cramp and started to feel annoyed that H had wasted a days holiday! Persuaded him to DTD and about 5 mins after we finished (15:00) the contractions started again and we're coming every 4 mins and lasting about 40 seconds. Nothing too strong but was getting excited so gave the Labour ward a quick ring at 16:30 to ask what was best, I was talking fine through contractions so she said keep it up, take some paracetamol and phone back when 3 in 10. Realised I hadn't slept since 2am and had only had 3 hours then so decided to get into bed for a bit. At about 18:30 I was dozing when I felt something change around my cervix and my waters started gushing! Called for H and soon discovered that I'd completely missed the pad on the bed so I went to clean up and phone the hospital whilst H had to sort the bed out! Hospital asked us to come on in so they could have a look, contractions were still the same low strength. I was so excited that it was fi
