It's Friday! Which means just a half day at work for me yay :)
Day was fine here yesterday i feel almost like my normal self which is NOT good for my anxiety levels! I even managed a massive amt of housework and ironing last night for the first time in god knows how long.
Nothing else much to report....hope you are all well, have a good day x

We- yay for Friday and half day. Try not to worry about symptoms (pot kettle black!) but they vary so much
7+1 today and have my booking in this morning. Luckily my mum will be having p whilst I'm there so don't need to worry about entertaining her. Not sure if booking in will be different for #2? I'm assuming they'll ask about p's birth etc. Trying to stay positive day to day and last night we were talking about how we might decorate the spare room and if we'll move p in there and keep the nursery as it is or do the spare room for baby and leave p where she is. Thinking about practical stuff makes it seem more real!!

Booking in already?? Your place is quick! For mine they had to fill in partners details as apparently it doesn't store them because lots of people don't have same partner(which I find quite sad tbh). Update medical history, she had the details of Ms birth but nothing on the mmc except what I'd spoken to the gp about. So it was a bit quicker, I think mine took 50 mins including bloods and urine sample.
Great that your mum is taking P for you, makes life easier!

Ugh I'd forgotten about taking bloods. Yuck. I had mine with p around 7 weeks, think that's standard arous here. I think it seems to vary in different areas though. I wondered if they'd have te details of p's birth, I know they keep all your notes stored away somewhere.

Yeah having bloods taken and trying to entertain a 3 year old at the same to make sure she didn't notice was quite a task! Took my mind off the needles though I must admit! Hope it goes well x

We, yay for half day! Embrace the feeling normal! I do then I feel tired again like an old lady lol
AR, at my booking in they didn't have any notes just filled the book out again, I didn't take H either as he had to work but I knew there was no family history if anything serious. It still took an hour even though its my second and I told them about Jude's birth.
I'm still in bed hurrah! Not the best nights sleep on a bed settee but still better than being up early. Quiet day today and H is home tomorrow, can't wait. Have booked a private gender scan so we can take Jude, that's 3 weeks tomorrow. Going to buy something for the baby this weekend :)
It's good to be feeling well WE! Enjoy it while it lasts!! Lol!
AR hope the booking in goes well. I found the strangest question to be whether I was related to the partner of my baby. Ooooookay then! Ha ha! Good to hear you more positive and making plans!
Told my two best friends last night our news. One of them sobbed and then started digging out her old cot bed That my godsons used! Very sweet! We also told Barrie's best friend and fiancé (via skype) whose wedding we have in Sweden next week...they've just had a failed round of IVF. It was very uncomfortable but we thought it better to tell them sooner rather than later. I felt heart sore for erika as I know how hard it is to hear of others pregnancies. Oh well!

Missed you there Isis! Thanks for the info on your last post yesterday. V interesting and sounds like a lovely way to parent! Did Jude sleep in bed with you or next to you? I'm still exploring my options!! Did you have a gender scan with J? Thinking we might go down this route too!! Yay for H being home!! (Where does he go incidentally?! *nosey*)

Sweetpea, that sounds sad for your friends but at least they've time to process it before seeing you. I mostly had Jude in my bed as there was just me and him then I had the cot with the side off next to my bed to make more space, this time I'll be getting a bedside crib as our bedroom is tiny so it's the only thing that will fit in! I'm sure the baby will sleep cuddled up right next to me a lot though. Dr sears is a good read. Didn't have a gender scan with Jude just found out at the 20 week scan but this time I'm desperate to know! I think it's a girl which is love so I'd like to know either way plus we can take Jude which will be good for him I think. H is in Germany at the mo, been to Belgium as well this week and driving so tonight stopping in France before coming home!

Morning all, off to docs shortly, face very sore down right hand side, and back of head also on right. Head on pillow is uncomfortable. Even hurts on the right when I blink so I'm feeling worried. Luckily I'd booked today off anyway. Back later x

Hope its nothing serious Counter, report back x

Well that was the fastest booking in ever. Not even any bloods. Because I now live out if area from the hospital I haveto have another booking in there to hce bloods Done etc etc. Which is a pain. SHe went on about the mlu which I knew she would, I dont want Togo there as it's a 30minute transfer to hospital. She quoted statistics about chances of transfer with second baby etc etc but I want to know where are doctors nearby If i need one. Appointment only took 20mins. Mostly form filling and we talked about poppys birth and my worries about this one being even faster. Although that just gave her more ammunition to talk about the mlu. She was nice though so just have to wait for scan appointment.
Counter I hope you're ok.

Wow that was quick AR but how annoying having to have another appointment.
How quick was P's birth?
23/08/2013 at 11:17
Well it took a while to get going with p as she was back to back so I had contractions for days. When my waters broke it went very fast as went from two cm to birth in three hours. I spent that time in ante natal, except the last twenty minutes when I was pushing, meant no gas and air and no other pain relief and the midwives not believingme when I said I had to push. Contractions to dilate you that quickly come pretty fast and intensly!! So it does scare me abit that second births are supposed to be faster!

Thanks! He thinks it's sinuses. I'm to steam, take paracetamol and go back Tues if no improvement. I feel like death and we had a big day out planned lol.
WE - can you quit with the housework? Makes me feel bad! Glad you're feeling okay, but I no how the panic-as-symptoms-reduces thing works!
AR - that's early, ours is 10 weeks for booking in. Sounds like you might have a challenge on your hands re the MLU, you'll get there :)
Isis - 3 wks to gender scan. Crikey. That seems so, I dunno, real! Knowing the sex. Wow.
SP - the reaction of your 2 best mates is priceless! Sad about your other friends but you know they'll be happy for you.
AFM - feeling down just because so rough. Being pregnant doesn't seem like such a good idea any more! My pregnancy with Harry was tough and everyone kept saying it might not be the same next time around. But it's getting that way. I don't feel like me, I don't like doing the things I used to, I have no interest in stuff and I'm moany. A few weeks ago I was newly married and the happiest girl in the world. I know it will be worth it. I've had 16 wonderful, fun-filled years with my son. It's just some days feel pooey! :)

AR, I'd heard faster for second births. Is it really true? My friends stories are mixed on that score.
My labour: sickness and diarrhoea at 6.30pm. Went to the labour suite. Things progressed but I wasn't in 'official labour' (what's that? how far dilated?) until 10.30pm. Then he was born 2 hours later. So whole thing 6 hours, proper labour 2 hours. Should that have a bearing on my birth plan choices? I'd like a home birth.
I'm sorry you feel so pants counter. First tri is really really hard going but it does get better. Most people feel better into second tri. It took me until 16 ish weeks to improve but I got there. Try and plan some fun outings with hubby perhaps to give you non Othman y things to think about and look forward to. How were your sons exam results?
23/08/2013 at 11:33
They'll probably encourage you to have a home birth if you were that quick last time. She mentioned that to me too but the thought terrifies me frankly. I have several friends who had life threatening complications with number two despite an easy time last time. No way would I risk being anywhere except a hospital. I know the chances if something going wrong is no different hereever you are but therespjnse to something going wrong does depend on where you are. I think it's about where you feel most comfortable as te more relaxes you are the mire likely you are to have a smooth rise.
23/08/2013 at 11:57
Counter I've had sinusitis and it was horrible, hope you're feeling better soon. I know what you mean, first tri has been rubbish but I think it's cos of all the anxiety too, hopefully second tri will be better! I'm definitely starting to feel more human (as long as I get sleep). I had a home birth last time and am planning another, if you have any questions I'm happy to help.
AR, you have to do what you feel comfortable with, hospitals make me anxious and I didn't want that to impact on my labour plus having to move etc so I was happy with a hb.
My labour with Jude started with my waters breaking at 1.30am and he was born at 9.55am, I am concerned about it being quicker this time think I'll set up the pool in advance!
