    How is everyone today?

Nothing much to report here - let J have a half hour nap yesterday cos he was a grump which then resulted in him not going to sleep until 9pm! Only reason he eventually gave in was cos I went to bed too and he came in and snuggled with me. Got the mw today, will prob be my last mw appt as I think I'll just see the consultant from now - scary stuff!

    Hope everyone is well

Hi Ally, what nap tactic are you going to take today? Hope MW goes well!

AFM - waiting on news of my colleague's (wife's) baby - we've sorted a sweepstake so the office has gotten a bit giddy! Got final NCT class tonight which is on breastfeeding. Really hoping to BF so hopefully it's a good session.

Think I just have to accept that we need to drop the nap completely (sob!!) I had hoped he would keep it up til the baby was a couple of months old at least. I'm hoping once he's used to not getting it the grumpiness will stop lol

How exciting waiting on baby news :-) Hope the last NCT class is helpful

    Morning!

PW - Hope the baby wins you a few pounds!  Our NHS breastfeeding workshop was quite good, they had a knitted boob and a puppet!  My MW also recommneded me a dvd, its called Bump to Breast (or something like that!) and its on you tube.  Not watched it yet, but its on my list for things to do on matermity leave.

Ally - how old is J? My niece is 3 and no naps now, and its not a problem, took about 3 months until my sister had to consicously stop the nap though (i.e. no car journeys after a certain time!).

AFM - Interviewing a candidate for my maternity cover today, personally I dont think she's suitable but hey ho I'm passed caring now!  That's about it really, other than seeming to be tired and grumpy all the time at the moment I'm goo!

Ally - I'll be devastated when A drop his afternoon nap, so you have my full sympathy! Would a 20-30 minute nap be more effort than it's worth do you think?

PW - love a bit of baby news excitement! Hope the last NCT class goes well.

AFM - had a really achey lower back yesterday morning and keep getting a niggle in my hip/groin that I'm trying to ignore. It seemed a lot better last night and this morning so hoping I just slept funny. Otherwise all is good, started making a list of everything I need to handover to my replacement - it's a long old list!

    Morning all,

Ally - Good luck at the midwife

PW - Hope you win something in your sweepstake at work. Enjoy the NCT class

PC - Hope the interview goes well

BG - Hope your back and hip are feeling a bit better today

AFM - Last day at work for me this week. Got my maternity cover starting on Monday so I have loads to do to get ready for that. Had my 38 week midwife apt yesterday and everything is well with baby. She's estimated a 7.5lb baby but I don't think I know anyone who had a baby the size they were estimated! My bloods came back that my irons low and because they won't be doing any more blood tests between now and baby arriving they won't know whether it continues to drop to I have to get some iron tablets just in case. Next time I see my midwife is my due date (as see gp at 38 weeks instead) so had to book in for a stretch and sweep, scary!

Hope you have a good day!

Porkchop - hope the interview goes well. J was 2 last week. His sister was a couple of months older when she dropped hers so I guess it was to be expected about now :-(

BG - hope the niggles don't come back. Enjoy the list making - when you planning on finishing up?  I only let him have 30 mins yesterday and it still affected bedtime, I'm gutted lol. I liked my peace when A is at pre school

Oh no, sounds like it needs to go. Sorry for your loss!

I'm hoping to get to 38 weeks, but may take off 1 day a week in August meaning I'll be workin 2 days and home and child free one day a week. All depends on how my replacement gets on when she starts in a couple of weeks, and also on how I'm feeling too. Work days are less exhausting thank days at home with A tbh!

Morning all, no personals this morning from me as have a busy day ahead but it's getting really exciting for lots of people now with all this talk of finishing work!

We're off to do the shopping shortly, then we have Jacob's sports day this afternoon which is likely to be chaos (if the rain holds off!) but there is a barbecue afterwards so that makes it worthwhile. Working tomorrow morning but not teaching so that makes it a bit easier.

Totally agree on the work being less exhausting than being at home. I still finished really early just cos I was shattered and at least at home I could lie on couch lol

Margot - hope sports day goes well, A has hers tomorrow but not sure the rains going to stay away :-(

Ally - how far along are you? I imagine it must be near the end if you are under a consultant for now on?

PW - NCT classes were great when I went. All the sessions were really useful. Dads came to our BF session. Are they doing to yours? Thanks for liking my bump pic btw :)

Porkchop - have fun intedvieWish. Which I could be on ML from being a wife and Mum to my son, lol

BG -I've had odd pains that seems to be relater to baby lying funny. Did you have any problems or spd last time?

Twinkletoes - exciting to be finishing work soon. Spend as much time as you can going out astudying stuff, ideally alone willing will be a while before you can do it aGain! My iron is borderline but have started iron tablets from boots that also have vitamin C in them. only a few and and probably not as evil as ones the Dr would give!

Margot - I take it youre not running in The Mums race at sports day!

Me - the muggy weather made me extra tired yesterday. Today is a bit better, except our delightful son woke at 5am with what must have been a bad dream or something, so it's been a long morning of stories, Netflix, playing with teddies and allsorts. On the plus side, he has 3hours at nursery this morning so he should sleep this afternoon. hopefully on my lap, on the sofa, which means I can sleeep too. He only naps on the sofa with me or in the car now and its been that way for a few months. Hopefull it continue after baby!

    Morning all.

Ally hope MW goes well and I'm dreading the day D drops her naps. It's my only hr to have a hot cuppa ;)

PW - Hope NCT goes well.

PC - You've not got long left now x

BG - glad your pain has gone and good luck with handover

TT - I thought they would monitor the iron a bit more closely.

Margot - hope the rain stays off for this afternoon

    Duckford - Hope physio helps.

IDC - Hope you get your nap this afternoon

Twink - I don't like it when MW change on you. Hope you get the nice one back

AFM - it's my first day off in the week so lots of tidyin and sorting and booking my mum to be massage for when I finish work. 7 days to go. I can't wait. The spd is just getting worse and D won't let me rest. She's a very busy toddler who loves to play very energetic games like running and on the trampoline. Fingers crossed the rain stays off. Meant to be thunder later. Had MW on Tuesday and all good. Not seeing her now till after my growth scan at 34 weeks now. Which is not that far away. So scary how quickly this pregnancy is going.

Hi to all that follow x

    Hello,

Ally – hope the mw goes well today. Hope J gets an earlier night tonight.

Pirate Wife – ooo – baby news is always excitring! Hope the last NCT class is helpful. I found some parts of ours useful but it wasn’t as good as our antenatal classes with another woman.

Porkchop – I hope she’s better in person than on paper.

Bridget – it’s better that you give a massive list then they’ll have a better idea of what they should be doing! Hope you’re feeling a bit better today.

Twinletoes – it’s best to be on the tablets as I was told the likelihood would be it’ll keep dropping if baby taking it off you. I’ve been on them since 28 weeks, but no one has even mentioned redoing my bloods yet to check if they are having an effect. Wow, that’s scariness about your next mw appointment – very real now!

    Margot – enjoy your day!

Duckford – hope the leg pain calms down and physio sorts it out.

IDC – haha,, I love that idea of him napping on you so what else are you meant to do?!

Twink – glad mw went well yesterday. Hope you get the nice one back. One of my mw has been replaced by a girl who has clearly only just qualified as she was very nervous on my first appointment and nearly missed taking my bloods at 28 weeks, until I questioned it (as my anti-D said it needed doing first and SIL mentioned I’d have them anyway)

Daisy – hope D lets you have a bit of rest at some point. The massage sounds a great idea,

AFM – not a lot to report, baby is still bumping around in there. I realised today that my iron tablets will run out the day after baby is due, so as the bottle empties that will mean it’s getting a lot closer. We decided last night to buy a tens machine (if we can get it for a decent price) so I’ve been eyeing them all up on eBay etc and means getting closer to having everything ready to pack my hospital bag. Nursing bra – I can’t get measured for that though until 38 weeks, is that right?

Sapphire - Dinx has hired a TENS, ask her on FB, for 7 weeks, and I remember thinking it was a good price not at all expensive.  M&S told me to go back at 37 weeks for my nursing bra fitting.

Hello everyone, it seems as though there are a lot of us nearing the end now so there should be a bit of a babyboom coming .... woo hoo.

As for me, well I'm 35+2 today.  Saw the midwife on Tues who measured me at 39 weeks, after my gasp of horror she remeasured me at 37 weeks.  Hmmm.  Am back again next Tues as they couldn't it me in for the following week.  Still  haven't made any decisions about VBAC vs ELCS.   What I really want is a VBAC at 39 weeks Laugh

Almost sorted out Noodles' room now.  Got loads done yesterday, finally taking things out of boxes and putting them out.  Just need to put up the bunting and wait for my mum to bring over the curtains once she has made them.   Can't wait for it to be finished.

Hospital bag packing is coming along nicely.  Well, I have a bag and I've put some stuff in it so that is at least a start.  It isn't so much that I am expecting to go in to labour early but more that I keep being admitted to hospital and just once it would be nice to actually have some stuff with me.
