Up and dressed early here as I have an oven engineer coming in the next hour. Hoping it's a simple replacement of the heatig element to get it working again. Then I have A's swimming lesson this morn and not too sure what to do with ourselves this afternoon.
Bump wise, see my post last night about the blasted indigestion, really hope it's not going to be like that for another 3 months!
Good news on the work front, we've made an offer to one of the candidates and it's been accepted, they should be starting 1/7. Phew!

Good news about the candidate, must be a relief to have that sorted. Bad news about indigestion on the other hand, hopefully it is short lived for you. Good luck with the engineer.
AFM I'm up early as working in London today, boo! Work is driving me mad after saying they wanted to recruit externally for my replacement (and stressing me out about it as they won't acknowledge pregnancy until 25 weeks) they've now said that they'll just get someone from IT to cover my role and hers. Made me feel a bit let down and a bit undervalued but its typical from them really, hey ho.
On the plus side, my GP is sorting my MATB1 for Thursday so I will have an end date soon :)
All good with bump, nothing to report x

Wow, oven all fixed before 8.00, result!
Sorry to hear they are stressing you out, at least you don't have to worry about recruiting now though.

Hi ladies the thread was quiet yesterday wasn't it? Think I was the last to post at 2.30!
Anyway all good here. Not much to report other than I've got my scan on Friday! It can't come quick enough. Still not feeling movement but I'm definitely growing. Added my first bump pic to the weekly thread yesterday. Hope the weather cheers up a bit as the day goes on. It's raining at the mo.
BG enjoy swimming. Hope the oven is a simple fix
Popcorn getting your matB1 is another thing ticked off the list, glad all is well with bump.

BG- very impressed an engineer actually turned up so early. Boooo to the indigestion though
PC- that's a shame about your work not taking anyone new on. But at least once you have a finish date the end is in sight and then you can forget all about it
MrsB- not long until your scan. I'm still not feeling much movement either. I only feel it when I'm sitting nice and still.
AFM not much to report. Been looking at changing cars, but for fuel efficiency not to a bigger one as we can't afford anything bigger. Going from a corsa to a fiesta, seem pretty much identical size when we've tried the pram and car seat in it. Worried about how we will manage with two kids and all the baggage that cones with them though. I keep telling myself people just manage with whatever they have and I will just have to learn to pack lighter!
Hope everyone is well

Hello lovely ladies!
BG - Yay on the work news! Must be a right relief for you?
Popcorn - Don't let it get to you, they are not undervaluing you they are probably just trying to save pennies my dear. Lots of companies in the same cost cutting boat. Don't take it personally. Look on the bright side, at least it's covered.
Mrs B - I have my scan Friday too! You finding out?
Jellytot - My cousin has 2 in a clio, you will work it out I am sure :-)
AFM - After being a bit concerned about not feeling anythig this weekend, the baby was wriggling madly yesterday morning. I don't think it likes being in work (clever baby) Countdown to scan on Friday at 8.30am! Can't wait and I want scan vibes please that it is is a good position to see it's bits! :-)
With all this talk of work cover I really must chase HR/Boss/anyone that gives a crap about my replacement. I did mention it weeks ago. I think they think I have ages left but if you break it down it's only about 16 weeks!
11/06/2013 at 09:19
BG- Result on the oven. Glad it was a quick fix for you. Hope the indigestion remedies itself just as quickly!
PC- Just be glad you don't have to go through the recruitment process and look forward to ticking off the weeks once you have a finish date. I still haven't got my MATB1 form and don't think I'll be getting it until my next MW appt when I'll be 25+2. Read that it needs to be in before 25 weeks but nevermind! I think I'm going to be looking to finish at 37+2 officially but use any holidays I have left to tag on to the beginning so will probably be more like 36 weeks. We will wait and see!
MrsB- Yey for your scan! I haven't felt much movement either. I've only felt kicks a couple of times but I'm feeling other tummy movements a little bit (possible baby rolling or wriggling!?). You will love seeing baby again, it's lovely!
JT- You definitely do manage with what space you have. We have an Ibiza which isn't the biggest of cars and we have H's daughter, baby on the way and a Labrador. We will be super packers by the time the babies are a few weeks old I'm sure :)
AFM- Not much to report on the baby front. We are having someone come round just to get a quote for a loft conversion tonight. We are completely undecided about what to do with the house but my thought process it can't hurt to research all possibilities! We haven't got the cash or the equity for it though so depending on the quote would need to beg and borrow the money. Getting really frustrated because there are lots of things I want to do in the house (cut down huge trees in the back garden which belong to next door.., new carpets upstairs, new front door, new doors on the 2 bedrooms upstairs etc) but we are putting everything on the back burner until we decide if we are staying or not!

Thanks ladies, making me feel better. I was just annoyed as at my annual review they told me that they would be making my role managerial and allowing me to recruit a team of new people. I wasn't looking forward to the stress of that before ML but was pleased that they were going to develop me, now they're not doing any of it but haven't even said why - it's like the discussion never happened :( Anyway, you're all correct - less stress recruiting for me now!
BG - result on the oven!
MrsB - nice to have a growing bump, I'm off to the bump thread for a peek :)
JT - I'm sure you'll be ok. Have you looked at Mazda2s? We have one and it's seriously fuel efficient, very similar to a Fiesta though so not sure if you'd get much extra room.
LP - scan vibes coming your way between now and Friday! Sounds like your work are like mine with not really realising that you'll actually be leaving soon! Hope you get it sorted.
11/06/2013 at 09:22
LP- What sort of movements are you feeling? If it all kicks or just strange belly movements? Good luck for your scan on Friday and lots of flashing vibes!

Just made a huge error. Told work people possibl baby name. H is in LOVE with Zara and I have been umming and ahhing over it but it has been growing on me. I swore I wasn't going to tell people but just mentioned it when asked and it got met with 'God no, I hope you vetoed that!' 'You can't call your poor baby that!'. Completely put me off it now and I don't want to tell H.
Sam - sounds like you're in real nesting mode, bit like me! What was originally "we'll just paint the back bedroom and turn it in to a nursery" is now paint nursery, new carpets on the landing, hall and stairs and re-fitting the downstairs loo! Hope the loft conversion is a reasonable quote for you tonight and you are able to get a bit closer to a decision.

I've been MIA because..... I forgot my logon details. Doh! MD usually keeps me logged in but occasionally boots me off, and I can never remember the details!
Glad work stuff is getting sorted for you ladies - it makes me think, like LP, I need to chase someone at work to get sorted. I've got so much holiday to take before maternity (25 days and so far I've only booked 1 off next week!) that it works out that, as of today, I only have 78 working days between now and 1st Oct (which is when I plan to start maternity, for convenience of pay as much as anything!) so really that's 53 days left excluding holidays! The next 7 weeks are pretty much a write-off as far as taking hols is concerned as it's our busiest term, lots of exams and end-of-year reports. So I'll probably end up cramming 24 days of holiday into August and September! I'll feel like a right part-timer
If I don't get on beforehand, lots of scan vibes for Friday, LP and MrsB! I haven't felt much movement either Mrs B and I'm 21 weeks today. It was a right little wriggler on the scan though, so maybe I'm not not very sensitive to it! Too many layers of natural insulation I suspect!
AFM I'm off work sick today - my job is usually Mon-Fri but on Sat we had a special event so I worked a 6 day week. I think it killed me off! I felt a bit rough on Sunday, then at work yesterday I felt like I had a raging hangover all day - headache, nausea, slight dizziness, dehydrated. I even ended up eating a sausage bap and large hot choc when I got in to try and shift the hungover feeling!
11/06/2013 at 09:57
LP don't think we're finding out the sex althought more tempted to this time around.
Mrs 50s thanks for the vibes. I'm thinking that my baby's movements are naturally insulated too, that must be it!! x
11/06/2013 at 10:34
LP- fingers crossed for Friday that baby is not shy
Sam- it doesn't do any harm to get a quote, hopefully it's not too much
Mrs50s- wow when you break it down you don't have many days left at work! Very scary! Hope you feel better soon
11/06/2013 at 11:13
I have told all my work yesterday so been a bit mental and even more REAL! I don't know when to start thinking about mat leave and I dread to think of what they will do with my job if anything! lol
11/06/2013 at 11:47
Sam - oops! Don't worry too much what they say, if you'd given the baby that name after it was born they wouldn't have said anything, don't let it put you off.
Mrs50s - I'm so going to work out my working days left after you've said that, it makes it sound all the more enticing! Hope you feel better soon though x
Rosy - the lesson I'm learning at the moment is not to worry too much about what work are going to do with your role, by the time they have someone doing it (or not!) you will be curled up at home having newborn cuddles :)
11/06/2013 at 11:56
Yes I do think that my mind swings between the two emotions of really caring and not giving a poop!
11/06/2013 at 16:51
