Ladies! How is everyone?? Do we have any graduates from 2nd tri this week? Had a feeling we were due a couple...?
Royally pi$$ed off at baby absence. Needs to come TODAY. Tomorrow is SIL's birthday and I cannot begin to describe how gutted hubby (and in turn, me) would be if Baxter was born on *her* birthday. And Harry leaves 1pm Thurs for Wales. So I'm on a deadline, lol. And mostly feel like utter, utter crap.
Off to hospital for GTT test early. Don't want to go as new scan showed zero concern with abdo circ, but I skipped the last one and MW worked hard to get me in again so I feel I must go. I'll take a book and maybe try and pad about the corridors subjecting baby to some gravity :)

Hello hello hello! Room for a newbie?
Counter, I hope the gtt goes ok. Plenty of walking might just give Baxter the kick to get moving, so walk walk walk! I hope they realise how important this deadline is?? How are you feeling in yourself?
I'm so happy to be 3rd tri, i felt like is never get this far and happy feet is 27 weeks today! So exciting. I've been sitting in my ball to help with my back ache and I think it's helping as I feel better today than I have in ages. Maybe it's a coincidence?!
08/04/2014 at 07:31
Counter good luck with gtt, doesn't it seem a bit pointless though, as what happens if they pick something up? By the time you get to see a dr you would of given birth lol!
Hope Baxter gets moving today!
Imp- congratulations it's so lovely to see you here!
Afm- some of you know midwife came yesterday and bp was back up, so I had to go to hospital for bloods. They came back clear. I'm none the wiser.
Tomorrow I have a growth scan and consultant appt so we will see what happens there I guess!
For today I'm shattered and want to stay in bed, but I have 13 office days to complete before that can happen!! So off to work I go!!
08/04/2014 at 07:32
Counter, good luck with the GTT today, and I really hope the walking gets the contractions back on track. I really hope thing happen before Harry goes off.
Imp, welcome to third tri, lovely to see you here. I'm glad the ball is helping. I need to get mine out too and see if it does the same.
Afm, sitting in bed still but will have to get up soon as H is about to go to work and J is running round. I'm a bit worried about today as I kept having dizzy spells yesterday and actually fell over completely once. In the night I could feel the room spinning every time I turned over. I'm a bit scared it'll happen while I'm holding J and I'll drop him, which would be awful. Not sure whether it's just one of those pregnancy things or whether I should check with my mw- I'm not due to see her for a couple of weeks still.
Baby out vibes aplenty being sprinkled across the thread!
08/04/2014 at 07:37
Missed you Monnie, hope work goes ok and isn't too tiring. Your bloods vs no and protein sound v confusing, is it something the consultant will chat about tomorrow? Hope the appt and scan go well.
08/04/2014 at 07:44
SG get it checked Hun, even if you can just get your bp checked xxx
08/04/2014 at 08:36
Knock, knock, is this where the ladies who have babies hang out? Eeek!! Mind if I join you? :)
Counter, good luck with the GTT. Get a wriggle on Baxter, you're on a deadline here! Hope you're not too uncomfortable.
Imp, happy 3rd tri day lovely! Hurrah!! I'm so glad to hear that your aches are better today, keep bouncing on that ball!
Monnie, I'm glad your bloods came back clear but how confusing! Willing the next 13 work days away for you, hope they fly!
SG, I would give our mw/docs a ring just to get it checked out. Better safe than sorry, fingers crossed it's nothing x
AFM, off to the mw this morning to give blood for my anaemia test. Hoping that she measures my bump for the first time too as I'm keen to know that everything is okay is there. Can't believe I'm in 3rd tri!! It seemed so far away when I first got that faint bfp, and now look!
Hi to all who follow :)
08/04/2014 at 08:51
Counter, try not to think about the 'deadline' as it might just stress you out enough to put everything off longer. Good luck with the GTT, would you turn down induction Saturday if it came to it, now that they're not worried about baby's size? Or is it just flat out baby out time and you don't mind if home birth goes out the window?
Hiya Imp, I'd been wondering when you lot would be coming over! I keep meaning to buy a ball, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Does it really help? I've been starting to get achey...
Monnie, it sounds like a horrible roller coaster you're on! When you say BP was up, how high was it? And was there protein again? Hopefully the consultant will be able to tell you something to relieve the worries, I've heard that midwives can be overly cautious, which can be good at times, but it sounds like all this is stressing you out, and if it's not on it's own a sign of anything serious then you shouldn't have to worry so much.
SG, definitely give the GP a ring and see if you can pop in or it he community midwife can come to you. It's scary getting dizzy spells, and you've the added bonus of
J to worry about, too.
And welcome to you too, Fig! Good luck with the midwife today, are you having 28 wk bloods done? And don't worry if the measurement is off a bit, they always seem to be from what I've heard. Let us know how it goes.
AFM, I don't have to be in work until 11:30 this morning, so doing a bit of laundry and waiting for our online shop to be delivered. My sore swollen ankles are much better this morning, but still ever so slightly swollen. I wish I had a photo of how they normally look, because Ant didn't believe me this morning when I said it hadn't completely gone down. 'But I can see your ankle bone this morning,' he said. It's still swollen between the ankle bone and Achilles' tendon, though! Luckily Wispa is here for me. I currently have my feet propped up on her, haha.

Yay some new graduates.
Counter- I am crossing all my fingers and toes that Baxter comes today for you. Hope the test goes ok today.
Imp welcome to third Tri! I'm sure it does help with backache as takes the pressure off so bounce away :)
Monnie- must be confusing for you, hope you get some answers tomorrow. 13 days will fly by!
SG I would def check with the midwife just in case. Could be blood pressure maybe? No harm in giving her a call.
Figaro hi! Welcome to third Tri :) hope midwife goes ok. I think I had my first measurement at around 28 weeks so hopefully you will.
Afm just spilt my whole cup of tea over the kitchen, great start! My stomach is still quite tight and achey. H reminded me that I'm not due until Saturday but then half an hour later asks when she's coming lol. Not much planned for today, just hoping to have a quiet day at home, probably go for a walk too as it looks rather sunny today :)
08/04/2014 at 08:55
Wispa cross posted there. A nice late start for you :) glad your swelling is going down a bit. Good wispa looking after you.

So pleased to see folk from 2nd tri!
Imp - delighted for you to have made it here. Brilliant! Heard the ball can be a big help for some nasty pregnancy backs. I'm not allowed to walk!! I have to sit tight so as not to burn the sugars. I've the right 'ump, ha ha. My phone battery will never last 2 hours! I've already pushed my luck with the lady by sitting on the wall outside instead of waiting in the waiting room with the ill people where she asked me to sit ha ha.
Hey Monnie - it does seem weird about the test but my baby was measuring up like a weeble so I think the test was the only option open to consultant when I started querying whether there might be something up with baby. I see him tomorrow - can't imagine they'll have the results... How are you feeling in yourself now lovely? A few weeks back I was getting all sorts of abnormal stats and had a nasty turn. I know it's good if things come back and aren't a concern but I think it still plays on your mind that your body might be dealing with something you're not aware of... Really hope tomorrow gives you some answers/sets your mind at rest. Another scan will be nice!
SG - please do see your GP or midwife, you don't need the worry. Poor you, you must have been petrified. How is today going so far? I stuck my hand out quick and grabbed all of those baby-out vibes you sprinkled, just don't tell Flossy & Bertie ;)
Figaro - welcome to 3rd tri. It really makes you reflect, doesn't it, when you find yourself here? Freaked me out a bit at first. Good luck at appointment, be nice to hear the heartbeat too won't it. Hope all is well :)

Hey Wispa, on phone so didnt see your post. I've got limited time off work so I think, depending on whether I'm dilated etc etc, I would be inclined to go for induction because I will already have used up X days of mat leave with no baby to cuddle :) The home birth would be amazing but it's not the goal, just part of the journey, main thing is getting our baby safe and well!
Totally understand re your ankles. Andy was/is the same. "Wow, they're way better than yesterday". "Yes dear, but they're not my REAL ankles"!!! One of my feet was so sore last night it prevented me getting to sleep at first, you are going to have to work hard to get your feet up any time you're not actually working, but it's really hard to do!
Bertie - your hubby asking that made me smile. Every night I tell Andy I'll wake him when labour starts and whener he leaves the house I tell him to expect a call any minute and we just laugh! Do you have anything you need/want to get done before the stork visits?! :)
08/04/2014 at 09:24
Fig, welcome to 3rd tri too! Lovely to be getting some new graduates again, it's funny how it goes in fits and starts with people coming and going. Hope the MW appt is good and the bump's measuring spot on.
Wispa, enjoy the lovely late start. Pregnancy cankles, yum! I hope the swelling doesn't get worse with today's work. Bless Wispa for looking after you/letting you literally put your feet up on her, that's so cute.
Bertie, have you found you've been more clumsy generally in pregnancy? I keep dropping/spilling things, but that could be just me. Enjoy a relaxed day, and don't tell Counter, but here are some more vibes for you since she thieved the first lot! ;-)
I'll see how I get on this morning I think and decide whether to call the MW after- I'm being a v lazy parent at the moment and letting J watch back to back episodes of Peppa pig while I sit quietly. It's working better than normal as he's not generally too fussed by tv but is actually watching. I've got a NCT friend and her toddler coming over this morning, which I'm both looking forward to and not, she had a big bleed at the weekend at 7 weeks and is in hospital this morning having bloods done to check for possible ectopic. I think they've scanned and ruled out a viable pregnancy but I'm not certain. I'm going to feed her cake and give her a huge hug, but I feel a bit awkward having a huge visible pregnancy bump when she's going through such a crappy time.
08/04/2014 at 09:38
Bertie, I saved a few vibes for you . Hopefully you won't have much longer to go, but enjoy your quiet day(s) in the meantime.
Counter, totally understand what you mean about just wanting baby here. It's what gets me about birth plans. So many different things can happen; you can plan for a home birth and end up having a c section, and I feel like if I were to really have my heart set on some particular way of getting this baby out it would be stressful when inevitably things just don't go to plan!
SG, so sad about your friend, but it's nice she can come to you for cake and a shoulder to cry on.
08/04/2014 at 09:50
Thanks for being so welcoming everyone!
Mon I hope today isn't too tiring, try and take it easy when you can lovely. Good luck for tomorrow too.
Sg Just keep a close eye on it then. Make sure to be checked out if it comes back today. I hope your friend is as ok as possible, fingers crossed that it's not ectopic. I hope the cake helps ( both of you!)
Fig fancy seeing you here?! Enjoy youtr mw appt, I hope she measures your bump- I would think she will do. Let us know how you get on.
Wispa the ball seems to have really helped. A leaflet came with it too that had loads of pregnancy stretches and exercises to help with aches and pains, I've not tried them out yet but I intend to have a good look at them and try a few.
I hope your swelling stays down, are you working until late? Glad to hear Wispa is being a good fur baby and lookong after you.
Counter boo to no walking. I hope the time at least passes fast. Treat yourself to something scrummy to eat afterwards.
08/04/2014 at 10:12
Counter as I started Mat leave quite early I have done pretty much everything I planned on catching up on! If we had a date for the move I could get packing but as of yet we are still in limbo :( I do like to keep de cluttering though so may do some of that today and wash some more baby clothes.
SG I won't tell you counter I'd you don't ;) I have been more clumsy yes, but to be fair I was quite clumsy before lol. That's sad about your friend but sounds like you will do a good job at being there for her. Have you had the dizzy spells before?
Wispa thanks for the vibes, I am trying not to keep thinking about when labour will start and just relax and enjoy my last few days/weeks of just me and H. I have had such a lovely time off on Mat leave so far so really should just carry on as normal. It's hard when you get daily calls asking about twinges though!
08/04/2014 at 10:23
Bertie I'm sorry I missed you earlier, I have no idea how I managed that! Preggo brain.
I hope baby berties gets a wriggle on for you. When did you start your mat leave?
08/04/2014 at 10:35
That's ok imp, I struggle to keep up sometimes! I started the beginning of March so was 34 weeks, quite early but I have really enjoyed my time off :) when are you planning on starting yours?
08/04/2014 at 10:49
Counter - Come on Baby Baxter! Hope they make an appearance soon and the GTT test isn't too bad! Seems a little late in the day for it now!
Imp - Welcome :) Hope you have had a good pregnancy so far!
Monnie - Sounds like you are having a rough time of it at the moment! Hope everything goes well today. At least the end of work is in sight!
Spikey - I would give the midwife or GP a call just to be on the safe side, dizzyness doesn't sound nice :(
Figaro - Welcome :) Hope you midwife appointment goes well, think it is pretty standard to have the first bump measurement at the 28 week appointment so they should do yours :) My measurement was quite off (measuring 4 weeks under) so don't worry if it is a little odd, the 1st set of measurements are the benchmark for the rest!
Wispa - Hope your swelling isn't too bad, enjoy putting your feet up a little! Pregnancy is so glamorous hey!
Bertie - Baby out vibes for you, hope you enjoy the sunshine!
AFM, I actually slept well last night! I only remember having to turn over a few times rather than every 20 mins :) Have my whooping cough jab today, does it make your arm hurt after? Trying to decide what arm to get it in as I am right handed but sleep mainly on my left side :S
That sounds lovely, I'm glad you've enjoyed it. I'm starting mine at 35+2, I'm kinda hoping I'll be able to enjoy some of mine too. I fugure this is the last alone time I'll have for a while!
