Hi Ladies, how are we all? It's beautiful weather in my corner of the country. Our year end audit work is crazy but coming to a close and I am a bit bored of 60+ hours a week so looking forward to moving on. Meanwhile at home hubby is kicking off the next round of decorating and I am very excited.
Pregnancy-wise it's mild (yes MILD!!!) nausea 24/7, sore boobs and tiredness but nothing I can't handle.
Good luck for appt this morning CC.

Thank you Counter :)
Spikey - Congrats and of course it's okay for you to join us!
I am up a little bit early so thought I would pop in quickly! Slightly nervous god knows why haha! Left Hubby in bed and made the dog join him haha!

Sounds like a busy time at work Counter make sure you're resting! I'm looking forward to H coming back so he can start on the decorating I've got lined up for him!
Congratulations SG lovely news! Looking at your signature does that mean you're due in June again? Hope you're feeling OK.
CC good luck today, it's normal to be a bit nervous but don't worry - and update us later!
AFM I can't believe I'm 13 weeks and 5 days today it's crazy! I haven't been sick for the last couple of days just the nausea, tiredness and getting up to pee in the night so hopefully I am turning the 2nd trimester corner... I am a bit gutted though I've had to pull out of going to Dubai in a couple of weeks to see my friend as I'm jsut feeling so rubbish and was a bit worried about travelling on my own so am a bit sad about that. H is taking me away to the hotel we got married in (and concieved in!) when he's back thought to make up for it!

Welcome Spikey! Congratulations on your BFP!
CC, is it your midwife appointment this morning? You'll be fine! Just lots of paperwork and questions. Typically as soon as I walked out of the room I thought of questions I wanted to ask so as a tip if you have any it might be worth scribbling them down so you don't do the same!
Counter- glad you're feeling better this morning! Hopefully work calming down will give you a bit more energy.
Got a letter from my GP about the flu jab. I'm in two minds as I'm offered it every year for free at work and I never take it. I'm guessing I probably should this year? I do commute on the train & tube and it can be pretty disgusting with everyone sneezing and coughing in winter but I just don't feel convinced about having it done.

Counter- Mild, thats good! I love redecorating. What parts of the house are you doing?
SG- Congrats on your BFP!
CC- Good luck today :)
Grif- Glad the sickness has eased. Shame about Dubai but lovely of your H to take you back to that hotel.
Flossy- My midwife mentioned it to me. Are the any negatives associated with it? I need to have a read up on it.
AFM- 11 weeks and 2 days today, felt like forever away when I got my bfp. Not feeling too bad. Mild nausea and the normal tiredness. Had another viewing on the house last night so fingers crossed they put in an offer.
Girf - Your be leaving us soon :(! Your night away in the hotel sounds lovely :)! Sorry that you can't get to Dubai though!
Flossy - Yes midwife this morning - I have a list of questions
I have the Flu jab every year with work.. why is it that you don't?
24/09/2013 at 09:13
Fingers crossed for you Bertie- Hope they put an offer in!

Counter - hope work settles down soon!
SG - congrats and welcome :)
CC - good luck!
Grif - shame about Dubai but bless your H :)
Flossy - probably be a good idea, subject to side effects!
Bertie - fingers crossed!
AFM: Feel rubbish today - nauseous and tired. Slept quite well last night again but did wake up several times to go to the loo. Only 3 more days until our scan! x

Ooh and also, I was inspired by the yoga talk the other day (think it was Weekender, sorry if it wasn't, baby brain!) and am starting a 6 week course next Thursday. Looking forward to it!

Counter- we've woke up to fog this morning. Hopefully it will veer by mid morning!
CC -good luk for today. I was always up extra, extra early worrying!
Grif- glad the sickness has eased. Sorry you've had to cancel your trip,
Flossy - I ad the flu jab in my last pregnancy. Whether it is coincidental or not it was the only inter I was hit by a big bout of flu!
Bertie- hope you get an offer.
AFM - not too much to report. I have my scan tomorrow at 10am. Heartburn is starting to kick in. I am sure I'll be 'swigging' from the gaviscon bottle before I know it! Still feeling generally rubbish, but always look at that as a good sign! Am off toBliss head office tonight (premature carity group) involved in a parent discussion group giving feedback on financial hardship for parents with babies in NICU. My youngest spent 117 days in NICU when he was born. It is nice to be able to give something back.

Morning all, just stopping by quickly as i am 14 +1 today so have graduated to second tri. Been lovely chatting to you all and very much appreciate the help support and chit chat, and will no doubt stop by and read to make sure you are all getting on ok. Good luck to all who are due scans and booking in appointments and see you on second tri soon.

Browny - Sorry to hear that your feeling rubbish, But yay too 3 days!
Section4 - Yay for your scan tomorrow let us know how you get on :)... Heartburn is terrible :( been suffering with it all the way through this pregnancy.. enjoy your evening
PP - :( We are sad to see you leave but make sure you pop in and say hello :)!
AFM - Had my booking in appointment - It was fine, She couldn't get my blood (I have hiding veins) so have them too take to my 12 week scan to hopefully get it then!.. Got lots of books of information think it's going to be information overload atm lol!
I have an A4 document for my plan... do you ladies carry it everywhere with you or just appointments?
24/09/2013 at 12:14
Hi CC- glad your booking in went well. I normally struggle with bloods but had mine at the hospital and luckily they were done easy :) my midwife did say to keep them with meso if you have a bleed or anything you get the best care as they know all your details, but I will just take them if I am going somewhere out of my town at the moment.
PP- Woo 2nd tri! Hopefully see you there in a few weeks.
Section4- Scan tomorrow! My friend had terrible heartburn during her pregnancy and lived on gaviscon!
browny- 3 days, bet you cant wait.

Just diving on at work so will get back for personals. I'm feeling pretty crappy at the moment, i'm so over feeling rubbish and i've been sleeping so badly which doesn't help. Plus i'm drowning in marking etc already at work and i feel like i have a million things going on. I have loads of stretchy/sharp tummy pains too. PLus i've been so grumpy and shouting at H a lot which i feel guilty about too.
I'd strongly advise people to get the flu jab. FLu in pregnancy is not only dangerous for the baby but, having had a bad cold and virus last time, i would hate to have proper flu and not be able to take any drugs for it. There are really no downsides, any side effects (and i had a horrendously painful arm for days last time, is better than flu.
8 sleeps until scan!
24/09/2013 at 12:52
cc those are your note. I only took them to appointments to begin with. Then at 25 weeks i went to triage for reduced movements and had to go home from work to get them when i was really worried. So i started taking them to work and leaving in car or anywhere i'd be for any length of time.
24/09/2013 at 13:17
Thanks all. Think I will have it done. When I've had other vaccinations they've tended to wipe me out for a few days afterwards and as my boss doesn't really appreciate us taking sick days I've tended to avoid the flu ones as it didn't seem necessary. But the baby takes priority this year so I'll make sure I get it done!
CC I think my notes will be staying at home but if we go away for the weekend or something I'll pop them in the car/bag just in case.

I hate doctors' surgeries with a passion. Just rang to book mine, I've missed 2 saturdays. She offered me 9am 11th Oct but honestly, I am working such long hours at the moment and am so knackered I didn't want to be getting up at 8am on a Saturday. She can't do me any later in the day, or another day. If I phone up in 2 days time she might do me an 11am on that day, depends who has booked in the meantime. Or I might miss out completely and then be relegated to a weekday, which I will not be able to make anyway. Or I can pay seven quid at a chemist.
I just get wound up all the time by this stuff. Much bigger stuff doesn't bother me but trying to get appointments and their weird logic gets right on my NERVES!!! :D
