I am on the train heading into London. Only 12 more days at work to go and 3 of those in London, so am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! Had a lovely weekend - did a trial run with the birthing pool yesterday which went well - I am just keeping my fingers crossed that all goes to plan and I get to use it rather than bring whisked into hospital, but who knows!!!
Hope you are all ok - not sure what the leader board looks like now and difficult to check on my phone, but baby out vibes for anyone who needs them.

Al- can't believe you're still having to traipse into town! I feel for you on the commuter trains. Glad pool went well. Have they sorted out a cover for you yet?
Afm- popping into office this morning to do a bit of training with a colleague then consultant and scan this afternoon. Hoping this baby isn't too far off the scale! Nt much else to report really!
Baby out vibes to all who need them

Al... Roll on no more London! Glad the birthing pool went well.
Wh.. Hope this afternoon goes well for you..
Afm... New member of staff starting today. Have had three newbies in total in last two weeks.. Tonight me and h have a 2 hour sesh at the hospital on active birth so that will be interesting

Hope you all had a lovely long Easter weekend! I wasn't feeling to good so wasn't around here much but did lurk a bit!
Al..can't believe your still doing the London trips, just the thought of going on a train the moment makes me feel ill!! Yay to ML countdown!
WH...hope scan and consultant go well today, hope works not to bad this morning!
Mrs Clarke...hope works not to bad, I have next Fri off so another 4 day week for me too, they seem so much easier!!
Bexy...hope worm flies by for you too today, enjoy your class tonight , it sounds interesting! Let us know how it goes!
Afm...had midwife on Thursday, consultant had written in my notes for the MW to book my section at this appointment but after ages of faffing about midwife told me she couldn't so told us to go to a drop in clinic at the hospital Monday (she said they still ran bank hols)and a MW would book it there. So yesterday I rang to double check that they were there bank holidays for them to tell me no and that I don't need to see them and have told me to go back to the MW again! Im getting really annoyed with the being sent back and forth and am so busy with work this next two weeks as its half term so I have 4 children everyday and can't really drag them to appointments! Really hoping someone will ring me back today with some answers! Also I have to have MRSA swabs taken as having a planned section, is this a new thing?
Any way apart from all that I'm ok, work is really busy but I finish on 19th so not long left but must get lots done before then!!
Hope everyone's ok and will pop back later! :-)
02/04/2013 at 08:11
Libby! oh what a faff...bet you got well fed up with all that messing about...hope you get some answers today...Not much longer to work now..i finish on 26th....cant wait!
02/04/2013 at 08:58
Al - Not long to go on your countdown! Bet the treck to London is taking it out of you but yay to only having to do it 3 more times until ML! glad the pool test run went well. Have my fingers crossed for you that all will go to plan when the time comes
WH - hope that the consultant appointment and scan goes well this afternoon
MrsC - it's a real downer having to go back to work after a lovely long weekend isn't it? Hope that the day passes quickly for you
Bexy - hope that you get a lot out of your course. Sounds very interesting
Libby - what a palava. Hope that you manage to get hold of someone today. No one has said anything to me yet about MRSA swabs. Not long to go at all until ML starts!
AFM - Feeling rather miserable this morning. Had a terrible night's sleep, waking up several times with heartburn. Have also managed to pick up a sore throat. Wish I could be back in bed! Have a fair bit to do at work so hopefully the day will fly by and I can get home and have a early night! Sorry for the moan. On a positive note, at least the sun is shining!
Have a good day all x
02/04/2013 at 09:28
MrsC- I feel the same! Still, a child free day off with H sounds lovely next week! My gtt is tomorrow. Good luck with all your appts this week.
Bexy- part of me is thinking I should do one of those courses having missed them all last time! Enjoy it.
Libby- sounds like they're really giving you the run around. In our area you get swabbed at first scan (although I was done earlier as admitted for HG). So fairly standard I think. Hope they get you sorted!
Ferbs- sorry you're feeling rubbish. Hope you get a better night tonight

WH - the journey into the office is not really too bad, my train is fine and I always have a seat, and then I am onyl going from St Pancras to Embankment on the tube so not too far. They have allegedly found someone to cover my maternity leave, although I have never met them and have not been involved in finding them and they will not be starting for a while and I will not be able to do any handover, so I am desperately trying to do copious briefing notes for them, so they know what state all the cases are in ... so frustrating, but I have decided that it is their problem and I will only get done what I can ... anything else they will have to work out for themselves. (sorry mini rant thenre!!)
MrsClarke - the first day back after a long weekend off is always a bit of a shock to the system!! Hope your appointments and scans go well. I have a GTT in February because my Dad is diabetic, all was fine. The test itself was ok, although they make you drink a large cup of lucozade which I hate, so it wasn't very pleasant - the worst part is lots of waiting around!! Take a good book!!
Bexy - enjoy your active birthing class. We start our NCT classes on Sunday (we are doing 2 full days on Sundays rather than evenings) - it makes it all seem rather real!!
LIbby - grrrrrrrr - can't believe they are messing you around so much, hope you manage to get it sorted soon.
Ferbs - sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish, look after yourself. Go home if you are not well!
02/04/2013 at 09:56
Hope everyone had a lovely Easter break?
Alocin - Hooray for 12 more working days, hope the London ones especially pass quickly. How exciting about the birthing pool run, eek!
WH - Good luck for the scan this afternoon, let us know.
Mrs C - I'm loving it's a 4 day week too - nice to be eased back into things!
Bexy - Ooh I'm looking forward to our active birth class too, let me know what you think - we don't have ours until 36 weeks!
Libby - how frustrating about your booking in date, really poor that noone is taking responsibility for just getting it booked, hope you manage to get it sorted soon - is their a senior mw you could ring?
Ferbs - Sorry you are feeling so rubbish, your throat might be down to the lack of sleep, sometimes I get them when I feel run down then they disappear so hope it's that rather than a 'proper' illness. Not sleeping is the worst though, hope you get on better tonight and work isn't too harsh today.
AFM - Had a lovely break from work and BH weekend. H put up the nursery furniture so that is looking rather lovely, and I got a bit choked up seeing it all done and (almost) ready for baby. I had a real moment thinking of how long we'd waited for this, and what a special time being pregnant and preparing for our baby is. Completely fluffy I know but after two and a half years, I'm not even going to apologise ;)
Only 13 working days left which is lovely, but does mean I should stop rambling now and crack on!
Have a good day all,
Lamby, 33+2 x

Al - How are you still commuting?! You must be a machine!
WH - Good luck for the consultant & scan Mrs!
MrsC - The long weekend was so relaxing wasn't it! Great you have another 3 day weekend this weekend.
Bexy - Hope the workshop is good tonight
Libby - Hope you get your section date sorted, what a faff!!
Ferbs - Sorry you had a bad night, what are you taking for the heartburn?
Lamby - No need to apologise! Sounds like a great weekend! Any pics?
AFM - Running on empty today after a broken 3.5 hours total sleep. Went to bed late then just as we turned the light off the toddler woke up and I didn't get him back to sleep until 3.30am so I finally got into my bed about 4am and he was up at 7.15am!! Shattered. Luckily mum is on her way over to look after N for a bit so I can snooze. No update baby wise, still in agony from the SPD but just trying to get on with it now. Bump is super low and feels really hard today but not sure why. My poor bits are also inflated again as I had to use a couple Tena pads over the weekend as ran out of Always Dailies, allergic reaction and swollen bits again... Joy!
If I go overdue I could still be here at the end of April
02/04/2013 at 11:11
I can't believe you have posted the top 6 on the leaderboard, couldn't you have just posted the top 5?!?
Hep, that sounds like a bl00dy nightmare day already. Hope you manage to get rested even a tiny bit. Are the crutches helping at all?
Lamby, awwww, that's really lovely. Any pics to share?
Ferbs, hope the day passes really quickly. The crap sleep is just training for when baby is actually here.
Libby, that's so rubbish about your CS, if you don't manage to get it sorted, ask to speak to the supervisor of midwives. And the MRSA swabs are totally normal - all elective admissions will have them taken.
Bexy, enjoy your active birth session.
Mrsclarke, hope all the GD appts go ok, let us know how you get on.
WH, when's your GTT? Hope the appts go ok today. It's the cool thing to have a big fat baby dontcha know
Al, YAY to less commuting! Am so glad I'm not doing that anymore.
AFM, first official day of mat leave . C is at nursery, H is at home as he is on holiday, and I have a few jobs to do (buy gym ball, buy raspberry leaf tea, sort C's clothes). Had a lovely weekend with family - family activities with my parents and FIL on sat/sun, then a really lazy day yesterday. Saturday I had a few concerns about baby not really moving whilst i was at bluewater so had to have something cold and sugary which still didn't do the trick (but oh my, how I REALLY enjoyed my cadburys caramel, dime bar and butterscotch sauce milkshake.....), but thankfully a dessert at dinner worked wonders. Think elvis has had a bit of a growth spurt or changed sides though as I have had a few more stretch marks appear. Consultant appointment on Friday to finally agree on any induction date, and they've also agreed to examine me, almost like a mini sweep, so who knows how long it will be!
Love to all laters and lurkers, bluewater 36+2

Morning all! Had two appts for bpp ultrasounds and CTG's and he's passed both, waters increased on today's one so looking positive at the mo :) pleased! The day I hit 31 weeks we can now visually see his movements which is awesome! Got appt with anaesthesiologist consultant later, and midwife tomorrow. Feel like appointments are constant!! We've started washing his second hand clothes, and my hospital bag is almost finished so if they decide early induction is going to happen we will be somewhat ready. :)) very grateful to be signed off with spd!!!
Hepburn I know how you're feeling, not long til baby is out though and they say the spd just disappears!
02/04/2013 at 11:50
Wow, hadn't realised how close together lots of you are on the leaderboard - it's going to be a busy April (hopefully!)
Hep - Barely any sleep really isn't what you need ATM is it? Hope you can get some rest with your Mum coming over, and lots of baby out vibes to you.
BW - Hooray for mat leave! Sounds like a lovely start to it at the weekend, and nice that your H is off today too. I don't know if you're out shopping but I got a bargain ball from eBay for £6.99 total, it's anti burst and has been fab so far (using it to ease my backache, not to get baby out yet of course!) Your sugar essentials have made me drool - glad Elvis finally started moving, he must have wanted you to have some sugar
I did start taking some nursery pics on the camera. However then realised the curtains I bought are too small, sob, and don't come in a bigger size - I did actually sob, just a little bit! H is going to try and move the curtain rail to make them fit, otherwise I'll have to return all the little matching bits I got as well and have a horrible feeling I've already thrown away the packaging. Baby brain fail!
02/04/2013 at 12:20
Lamby - Can't wait to see a flash of the nursery once you have the right curtains. No need to apologise for being fluffy - after your journey I think that you are more than entitled to feel this way. H and I had a moment driving up to London yesterday when he became quite emotional at the thought of baby arriving and what a miracle the whole thing is. quite out of character for him but I think that after a weekend of DIY getting the house ready it finally hit him that we are going to be parents!
Hep - Am taking Gaviscon for the heartburn. Managed to get a huge bottle on pescription on the advice of a very nice pharmacist. Have also got some chewy tablets for my handbag which I have already had to take today. After your night, I don't know what I am complaining about! I hope that you manage to get some kip whilst your mum is over to look after N.
BW - Yay to first day of ML! Sounds like you had a great weekend and that baby was obviously on protest until he had been given sufficient sugar! With your meeting on Friday, does this mean you could be jumping up the leader board?!
GB - Glad that tests have come back positive. Great news that you are organised and ready to go, you sound a lot happier today which makes me smile!
02/04/2013 at 12:23
Afternoon all, hope you had a good Easter.
Al- Good that you're on the countdown to ending work and that all went well with the pool tryout.
WH- All the best for your scan, keep us updated.
Mrs C- Yay for short weeks and long weekends!
Bexy- The active birth session sounds informative, give us some tips :-)
Libby- They're sending you in all directions, how frustrating. Hope you get those answers today.
Ferbs- Sorry to hear that you're suffering with various ailments. Totally sympathise with the heartburn issue. FX for a better night for you.
Lamby- Glad you've got the nursery sorted and fluff is definitely allowed!
Hep- You're really having a rough time, so baby out early vibes if you need them. Saw your comment about my bump...yes it does seem to have crept lower but I'm sure I'm stuck with it for a few weeks yet (although I would be impolitely happy to queue jump!).
BW- Enjoy your maternity leave and hope Fri goes as you want it to.
GB- Busy times with all the appointments but I'm relieved they're showing positive things :-)
AFM 37+4 today. Had a lovely long weekend with H and enjoyed my early birthday afternoon tea treat with him. Nothing else exciting done, just cleaning and shopping, seeing relations, short walks etc. Gym ball is inflated and I've started on the raspberry leaf tea! MW is still away so I'm back to the GP tomorrow, in the meantime. Off to rustle up an omelette now, so catch you later :-)
02/04/2013 at 19:01
