Morning all, another hot one - hope everyone is doing okay and not too hot or sticky.
Another working day here but last of the week - yay! Have to go to a meeting at lunchtime which will be in a lovely hot room, hopefully it won't last too long. All was fine at MW yesterday, will see consultant at 36 weeks then MW again at 38 weeks and that's me done which is a bit scary.
Only 4 more days at work after this week, counting down now.

Morning, I just posted too but deleted mine
Glad all was well at MW, 2 appts to go - wont be long!
Was the hottest its been here yesterday, did not enjoy it lol. Esp when I have a limited summer maternity wardrobe. Hoping today is a bit cooler but doubtful
Got a friend and her 2 kids over later so will get the paddling pool, I may end up kicking them out and going in myself!!
Was speaking to the mil yesterday and I said how awful it will be on the wards in hospital in this heat. She says oh it'll be fine cos theres air con, not sure what it's like down south but at my hospital we'll be lucky if there's 1 fan between 4 beds!
Hope everyone is well, baby out vibes to anyone who wants them - been ages since there was a BA

BG - hope the meeting isnt to long!
Ally - a paddling pool sounds like heaven, I spent yesterday afternoon with my feet in a bucket of water!
AFM - I am thoroughly fed up, tired and grumpy! Bertween achy crampy legs, a sore foof, a screeching cat, the heat, a window that we can hardly open and having to take H to work I got virtually no sleep!!! Woah is me. On the upside I'm off to see my antenatal friend today to have ice creams in her garden, I'm hoping she has some shade as I cannot cope in this heat. 38 week MW appointment this afternoon. Yikes!

Margot - enjoy your last working day of the week. Hope your meeting doesn't go on too long in that hot room
Ally - I'd kick the kids out too :-) I said the same yesterday about it being hot in hospital, I doubt ours has air con.
PC - that's not good, not long to go now though. Enjoy the ice cream!
AFM - had aquanatal last night which was nice as the pools always cold but I felt like baby was going to fall out! When I got home it was very active and I don't know if I had a few tightnings. Had to get up 4 times in the night for the loo too! Could this be the start of baby putting in an appearance?! I hope so! I hate not knowing what will happen and when!
Today we're off for a picnic, going to a local farm where we can go for a walk, look at the animals, have a picnic, browse the farm shop then pick your own strawberries. And it's all free (you pay for what you pick).
Have a good day all

M - hope the day goes quickly. Scary how close you are to the finish line now!
Ally - our hospital is the same, it was so hot when I had A. And then they made me wear those awful plastic stockings.
PC - hope the icecream cheers you up. It is difficult when you're so uncomfortable though.
TT - It could be, but just like fake symptoms during the 2ww, our bodies have a awful habit of playing tricks on us!
AFM - actually managed to get a lot of housework done during A's afternoon nap. Today we're just having fun to reward ourselves! First we have swimming lesson then off to meet some friends for a picnic at the local lido. Was supposed to have whooping cough jab this afternoon but habe postponed it for a couple of weeks as I wouldn't have made it to the docs in time today.
Second Daisy birthing class was good last night. Starting to feel nervously excited about labour now, although the minute and a half practice contraction that we did felt very, very long.
09/07/2013 at 09:09
M - hope your meeting this afternoon doesn't drag on and the room isn't too hot.
A - I'm down South and I'm almost 100% sure that there's no air con in our hospital, they're always so hot and stuffy! Enjoy the paddling pool ;)
PC - sorry you're feeling so hot and bothered, I'm suffering in the heat too and am 10 weeks behind you so can't imagine how you must feel. Hopefully some ice cream in the shade later will help x
TT - I have zero experience so can't offer any advice on whether this is baby gearing up for labour or just a false alarm but hope things are happening for you. Your afternoon sounds lovely, enjoy!
BG - I've heard the Daisy Birthing classes are really good, exciting!! Have fun at your picnic.
AFM - slept loads better last night as it was a bit cooler than Sunday night, so feeling slightly more human today. My boss decided to tell me yesterday that she wants to make lots of changes to my role before I go on ML with lots more responsibility etc. It's great that she's doing it but it's going to be hard to hand over to someone for my ML cover when everything is so up in the air. I've been in the same role for 3 1/2 years and they choose 7 weeks before I go on ML to develop me Never mind, will just have to get on with it I suppose!
Have a good day all x

Margot - getting close now.
Ally - hope you survive the heat. My hospital doesn't have ac. We have the one fan per bay here too.
Pc - enjoy your icecream.
TT - hope you are able to pick more than you eat. Unlike me.
BG - sounds like a lovely day.
Afm - I've got my mum to be massage and pedicure this morning. Just dropped D at nursery so quickly getting ready. Will be a day of lounging in the garden as it's already 20c here.

Popcorn missed you there. Hope the next few weeks are ok at work for you x
09/07/2013 at 09:36
Margot, hope the meeting doesn't last too long. You're on the final countdown now, exciting!
Ally, I've only got two very summery outfits so looking forward to a cooler/cloudier wednesday. No air con at my hospital either. Luckily don't think the baby will be arriving this week so hoping it cools down a bit.
PC, sorry you're so uncomfortable today. Ice cream sounds like a fab idea though! GL at your mw appt
TT, ooh exciting! Definitely sounds like baby is getting engaged!!
BG, so pleased you're enjoying the classes. Enjoy your fun day!
Popcorn, glad you got a good night's sleep. Work situ sounds quite strange, hopefully you get to the bottom of it
Daisy, enjoy your pampering. Sounds fantastic!
AFM - Full term today!!!! Still hot here, 26c! Was up for an hour in the middle of the night as couldn't feel the baby move but eventually he woke up a little. Going to mothercare this morning to collect an online order of lots of bits and bobs. Slowly ticking things off the list! Will just be chilling out this afternoon trying to keep cool.

Afm I've got mw apt this afternoon, gp surgery is in same village as where H works so were going to have a picnic in the park there after, before H goes back to work tonight
09/07/2013 at 10:06
Only 10am and I'm already roasting :-( Managed to find a non maternity maxi dress that fits - finding a strapless bra that i could squash my boobs into was more of a problem though!
PW - yay to being full term, have fun in Mothercare - I was in store the other day and they had a massive sale on, was very difficult trying to not buy any baby clothes
Daisy - enjoy the pampering, very jealous!
Popcorn - oh that's rubbish re work, hope it isn't as bad as you fear
BG - Sounds like you have a lovely day planned, I got loads of housework done too yesterday. Woke up in nesting mode then paid for it come late afternoon when I could hardly move. Enjoy your birthing class
TT - enjoy the strawberry picking, I keep meaning to take the kids to our local place but J would probably just eat everything
PC - enjoy your ice cream. Hope you have a better night tonight
Right, better get off the couch and go hang the washing up!

Margot- hope your work day isn't too bad and its not too hot inside.
Ally- paddling pool sounds like a brilliant plan! If this weather keeps up I think I might invest in one.
Porkchop- hope the ice cream helps you feel less bothered in the heat. Hope midwife goes well.
Twinkletoes- could well be baby getting ready, how exciting!
Bg-glad your enjoying the classes, have fun today.
Popcorn- hope your work don't expect toi much from you in the next 7 weeks and are more looking forward to your role when you return.
Daisy- enjoy your massage and pedicure, sounds like luxury!
Pirate wife- yay to full term! Enjoy your trip to the ships, I love picking up orders and looking through all the new stuff.
Not much going on here, had antenatal last night and bathed a baby doll, so feel more confident with that now. Only 9 days to go til I finish work including today. Can't wait just need to finish all the paperwork and tie up any loose ends!

Morning duckford. Hope the midwife appointment goes well and enjoy your picnic!

38 weeks today, just been for my midwife appointment. What I thought were contractions clearly aren't as baby still very high and also back to back, she thinks the c-section is the way to go which has reassured me. Iron store levels (Ferritin) are still shocking despite 3 iron tablets a day, mine has gone from 15 to 17. The range goes from 20 - 320 so I am not even within the range, never mind normal. Am still measuring 2 weeks ahead but given I am petite (her words, I'd say short) she doesn't think it means a giant baby, just big for me. The good thing though is that the average weight gain in pregnancy is 11kgs and I have only put on 7kgs - seems like the diet of chocolate, cake and crisps isn't so bad after all.
As I was leaving she said "see you in 2 weeks with your new baby, I'll be around in the afternoon". Eek.

Hi everyone, sorry i'm still rarely in here - roll on mat leave!
Gosh there are lots of melons in here today!

A bit later than usual for me, so I don’t know who’s about still or not.
Margot – yuck, hope the meeting didn’t go on too long, that’s not where you want to be in this weather. Yay for being able to count down days left on just one hand!
Ally – paddling pool sounds immense!
Porkchop – mmmm, ice cream should make up for that! And hope mw went well… 38 weeks already?!
Twinkletoes – sounds like you’ve been on a fab day out!
Bridget – glad your daisy birthing is going well still. I think those were our thoughts exactly at our NCT classes, especially when she did 45 seconds to begin, that didn’t seem too bad until she said right we’ll go for a minute and a half now… it just seemed so much longer.
Popcorn – that sounds like really bizarre timing with your work. But yay for a better night sleep.
Daisy – oooo – how was your mum to be pamper sesh, did it make you all relaxed?
Pirate Wife – Yay to being term!! How crazy is that?!
Duckford – picnic in the park after mw sounds a lovely little treat. Hope mw went well too.
Bunny – not long now until ml can start and you can rest after all that working.
JellyBaby – oh wow, what a crazy thought! Stupid question but does that mean they’ve done more blood tests on you to check ferritin. I ask as since my 28 week bloods and being put on 2 tablets a day, no one had mentioned redoing my bloods to check they are making an impact.
Pombear – when is it you start your ml?
AFM – last night was so much cooler than the fan even got turned off! 36 weeks today – bump was quite during the day yesterday but perked up in the evening. I’m assuming the heat is making him/her extra tired too.
09/07/2013 at 16:29
Sapphire, yes I have had my blood redone several times but mainly because I am still struggling. Am out of breath, dizzy spells and fainting a lot. I literally do the school run (in the car) and spend the rest of the day in bed so they are monitoring it very closely.
