Morning Mrs B - what are your cake options? (drool)
I've just offered to do some extra work tommo... what is up with me!!?? but then we are spending sat - pram finalising and ordering (after we ensure it fits in the car!)
Also - this is prob TMI - but for the past 3-4 days I have had a pain in the left side of my lady area - like someone has just kicked me there - so sore I cant put on own trousers etc but its ok when sitting standing etc - is this just stretching do you reckon or (aftre a bit of googling) are my hips going to fall apart? :o)
Where is everyone?? Cake comp sounds fab!
Just off for a walk down canal and then pub lunch :-)

Im either going to stick with what I know and make a Coffee & walnut, or someone in work made a yummy banana cake that she gave me the recepie for but ive never made it before or Lorraine Pascale's Crouching tiger hidden dragon cake which I have made nce before and it was a little dry.
The problem is Ive not baked in the new oven yet and its gas, im used to electric! Im a little scared!
I could easliy make all three and just eat the ones that dont come out right, i am constantly hungry at the moment!
Weeme- Im sure its just pressue from the baby, Ive had a few pains there and so I know missdeedee has too and our hips haven't fallen apart!
HorseFan- enjoy ur pub lunch! wish i were comming too!!
I have no idea whwere everone is! lots of people have been saying how quiet work is at the moment, i thought that would make it really busy on here! I suppose we did have a mass exidus to 3rd tri this week though!

Yes - I would def recommend - all 3!! Esp with the excuse - reason :o) - of trying the new oven!!
Can I come for lunch too? I fancy a nice baguette and a crescent of crisps :o)
Ah that's a relief! (not that you guys are suffering too but YKWIM!)

Morning Mrs B! Oooh cake!! Def make all 3, I will happily volunteer to help eat them! Glad your feeling movements, I'm the same, getting little kicks (or punches) which is sooo amazing.
Weeme I have definitely had the foof pains! Not for a few weeks now but I think it's due to the babies position.
HF lunch sounds yum, were just heading out so will stop somewhere for lunch now!!
Well major fail on the car hunting on Monday but we did see a pram we've decided on so that's good! We've had a busy few days but just loving being off work. I have my anomaly scan on Monday and we will order the Pram after that.
Heading out this afternoon to look at cars again, I have a huge longing for a subway so might get one for lunch actually. I'm turning into a good obsessive!

Think we are going to go with the Jane Trider and matrix car seat. My H's family live over 500 miles away so were going to have to do a few trips when the baby is still small and the matrix car seat can be adjusted into a lie flat position for in the car, but it also tips up then to become a 'normal' car seat. Massive benefit to us as following the guidance we would only be able to drive 2 hours and then make sure the baby was out the seat for a good break before travelling again. Because it goes flat it also doubles up as a carrycot for the pram. You don't need any attachments to be able to put the car seat/carry cot on the base, it just slots right on. It's a stage 0+ car seat too so it will last until the baby is well over 1 and they can travel rear facing all that time without us having to get another car seat if they outgrow the baby one. You can also get an isofix base that you can use for lie flat or normal seating position. We've got a dog too and do alot of walking so the trider is their 3 wheel base (you can get it in 4) and were looking at the trider extreme which has much bigger and sturdier tyres so we can take it anywhere we would normally walk the dog!
My H also approved as it was quite a 'manly' pram as opposed to some of the light weight ones I had looked at that I have to confess were quite girly.

Wow, that sounds like an impressie beast!!
Can you fill me in as to what a isofix base is? Ive seen it mentioned a couple of times but im totally clueless!

Hello :-) I'm on my phone so personals are a pain!
All fine with me but now I want cake!

Did you see will and Kate putting baby George in car? They used the isofix base, it fastens to compatable cars that have isofix fastenings (they're standard on some newer cars and an option on others). The base clips to the car seat and essentially becomes an extension to the car itself and is very secure. The baby seat then clicks into the isofix base so the seat is actually secured to the car seat rather than more sort of siting on the seat and secured with a seatbelt.
They've improved safety results and eliminate any safety issues from not fitting the seat correctly with the lap belts. The isofix base were looking at has two indicators on the sides and they turn from red to green when you have correctly fitted it to the car so no interpretation needed. It's literally clip it into the isofix fittings in the car then clip the car seat into that. My H was stressing about fitting he seat correctly with the seat belts so he feels 100% better with the base.

We have a base for our baby (group0) seat too. Non-isofix (our car is too old to have isofix - most cars 10yrs or younger do have it tho. You just need to know where to look!). The base is sooooo handy as as MDD all you have to so is "click" the baby seat into the base, the red indicators turn green when its in correctly. The seatbelt fits thru the base - we had ours fitted by in-car-safety-centre in Milton Keynes and literally never took the base out. I can't remember how to fit it now, so will take car, sear & base up to in-car-safety shortly before baby due and get them to fit base again. Ours is Maxi-Cosi pebble seat on Easyfix base.

Ah, ok, sounds like something I might get my H to sort out!
I didnt see them putting George in the Car but my mum and her friend were talking bout it the other day saying he must have practiced as he did is so swiftly! Tehy were very impressed, I'll have to call her tonight and tell her all he had to do was click it in place and wait for a green light!
07/08/2013 at 16:18
Haha I recall practicing putting seat into car, I was putting my hand inside seat and pushing it down to 'click' it into base. .... Until someone pointed out there would be a baby in the seat where I was pushing on. Ooops!! LOL

On phone too so no personals from me either.
My vote is for coffee and walnut cake, and I'll certainly try a piece!
Pram sounds ace MDD! Fingers crossed for your scan on Monday.
All good here apart from being sat on a train next to a bloke with stinky breath, can't wait to get off.

Hi all. Missed this yesterday! I haven't had any movement yet :0( am 20+4 but Low lying placenta could be reason but can't wait! We are stuck between Stokke Xplory in beige (my boyf hated it at first) or Bugaboo Buffalo but now he prefers Stokke pffffft!! We are both tall so either would be ideal
Can't decide on a cot though - always wanted sleigh and definitely white but worried if its too girly for a boy as we don't know what we are having. Thoughts?
And my techno mad partner wants the ipad compatible monitor - soooo many choices out there hard to decide on things but fun looking!
Hope the cake/lunches etc were lovely!x
