I'm WFH today so hoping to get back on for personals. Have consultant appointment this afternoon, not sure what to expect really. It's my first one and I'm only cons led as had emergency section last time, I'm pretty sure I want a vbac this time and have a vbac clinic on Friday, where I'm guessing my vbac questions will be answered.
Raided my friend's little girl's 0-3 wardrobe, she laughed at the pink pile I left and took everything else!
How are we all getting on with names? I've fallen in love with one and although I've not spoken to H about it since the weekend when he said he wasn't so keen anymore, I'm starting to think it's going to be a no :-(

Morning BG, hope the appointment goes well and the VBAC plans can start. Love that you left all the pink!
Names is a conversation we haven't even started here, everytime I try to talk about it H just suggests silly names so I've told him that if he doesn't start with some sensible ideas, I'll just choose on my own. I have a couple of favourites (for boys too as I want to be prepared!) so will see what he thinks. Hope your H comes round to your way of thinking.
Off to school, then swimming and town here - need to get my eyebrows done and have a wander, then a chilled afternoon. Jacob was up at 5am in a grump before going back to sleep about half an hour later, then Joshua was up at 6.30 so think I deserve a rest after that.

BG- hope the appointment goes well, I have one tomorrow so was going to ask you all a few questions. You will have to let us know what happens.
Margot- good luck with the names discussion, its so hard isn't it. My friend has leant me a book called 100,001 baby names and I'm struggling to find any I like in there!!
AFM- tomorrow is my first consultant appointment, as I had an emergency CS last time but unlike BG I think I've decided to go for ECV. Can anyone tell me what to expect from the appointment? Do they try to push you towards a VBAC- should I go in prepared to stand my ground?
I know it gets asked a lot but any tips on what to ask, what to expect etc would be great.
Hope everyone is well.
I never really post on here, but I suppose I should! Only a few more weeks of 2nd tri for me!
Not much to report, other than I am slowly getting fatter/heavier, but it's the same rate as last time, so I'm not too worried.
I had EMCS last time, but not going for vbac this time. For me, it's just too much to risk things going wrong and being EMCS again.
We are set on a name. Pretty much 100%. I have a close friend due soon, so am praying she doesn't use the name (doubt she will) but hopefully she won't!
DS is 2 this month so really need to crack on sorting out his birthday and cake. Going to make a train one. God help me!

Making the leap from 1st to 2nd today as had my scan yesterday and I am 14 weeks today. Feels nice being here :)
BG- Hope your appointment goes okay. Completely understand about the pile of pink you left! I am thinking if we have a girl it won't be all pink and frills but I think my sister has other ideas as she is dying to buy lots of pink after only having 2 nephews to spoil!
Margot- You definitely deserve a chilled afternoon. The sun is shining here so hope the weather is nice where you are and you can have a nice relaxing day.
JT- Good luck for your appointment. I have no advice but hope it goes well and they don't put up too much of a fight!
IDC- Someone else picking names we like is also a worry for us as there are literally 2 we agree on so far! Our tastes seem to be completely different.. I don't think we are going to tell any one what we are thinking as I don't want people to put us off a name we are set on. Fingers crossed she doesn't choose the same one!
AFM- Feeling very happy today! Scan went really well yesterday and only have just over a month to wait until scan number 2. Really want to find out the sex so we can start planning properly. We have 2 names that we like so far but this could all change as I am so indecisive..

Im a bit quiet at the mo as Im at centerparcs! Had a busy weekend too with a wedding on Saturday which left me feeling ruined on Sunday! Think when i get back from hols I'll be onto third tri!!!! Scary! StArting to feel more uncomfortable with aches and acid reflux so it makes sense.
Bg, that's lovely you've got lots of free clothes that you like
margot, have a lovely relaxing afternoon
jt, hope your cons appointment goes well and you don't have to fight for the ecs.
Idc, glad your pregnancy is going well!

BG - hope you appointment goes well. maybe leave the name a week and then try it again.
Margot - definitely sounds like you need a rest!
Jely tot - no idea about things like that but good luck :)
IDC - Glad everythings ok
Sam - Hi there :) glad scan went well woop!
AFM - i'm losing 2nd tri energy quite quickly. i am alseep by 9:30/10 most nights now. im ok in the day & getting up so at least i can get into work for 8 & leave at 4:15 so still have some of my day left.
hubs and i finished painting one of the chest of drawers off and hubs started the second one. they are looking great. i washed all the bedding we've been given as once these drawers are all painted, will have storage for things properly. i know still 4 months to go but nice to get things going :)

Well that was an exciting hour. Just after I posted this I got an e-mail to say that my 8am interview is in reception - err, wtf? I have an 8 am interview tomorrow, not today, or do I? cue sheer panic as I try to log in to check that I definitely said Thursday to the recruitment agent. My panic and fluster scared A, so then I was dealing with a crying toddler whilst trying to call work to see what was going on. Anyway, I was right it is tomorrow, although she insisted to my receptionist that it is today. Seems like a mix up by the recruitment agent, who I'm waiting to talk to.
M - sounds like you do need a rest! I'm not looking forward to 2 tag teaming their wake-ups like that!
JT - I'll update this afternoon. My mw has been very pro vbac with me, but she was just pushing an open door with me really.
IDC - my boy turns 2 this month too, we're away the week before his birthday and you've reminded me I need to order some cake toppers. My EMCS was actually a really positive experience, it never felt like an emergency, just the logical next step, so I think that helps me mentally to go for a vbac. Although, then I remember what those contractions feel like....
Sam - congrats on your scan and welcome to 2nd tri
PW - I'm very jealous of you being at CP, my friend is at Elveden this week and making me envious with her photos. Have a fab time.
Twink - sounds like you're making real progress with the baby stuff, it's an exciting time!
01/05/2013 at 09:26
The names discussion isn't going well for us either, I'm definitely sharing Margot's pain. I suggest nice, old-fashioned names and H vetoes them and suggests Moussa, Jan, Gareth or Benoit (if you are at all familiar with the Spurs team you'll spot the pattern here). My friend bullied her H into her favourite name in the immediate minutes after her son's birth, this is currently also my preferred tactic.
BG - nightmare from your recruitment company, what a mess! Sorry that it disturbed A as well, poor thing. Hope your appointment goes well later.
M - hope you get your chilled afternoon, sounds like you earned it :)
JT - no advice as this is my first I'm afraid but hope your appointment goes well and the consultant is supportive of your decision.
IDC - train birthday cake sounds cool, I used to love cakes like that when I was little!
Sam - welcome to 2nd tri, glad your scan went well!
PW - another one here who is very jealous of your Centre Parcs break, enjoy the rest of it and see you on 3rd tri soon :)
twink - I am also not quite getting the 2nd tri energy boost I was promised! Have fun doing the other bits for the nursery, so exciting!
AFM - feeling tired today and my bump seems to be growing at a crazy rate and my tummy is feeling quite 'stretched', can't think of how else to describe it. Work is also crazy to the point that I want to start ML NOW please. Spent loads of time researching cloth nappies last night which was fun, if a little overwhelming. So much to learn about it but am completely determined to do it!

Popcorn, at least there's a theme from your H's suggestions, mine ranges from Rachel to Helen to Whitney to Ripley!
01/05/2013 at 09:44
BG-hope the vbac clinic is useful on friday. We have a list of 3 names currently that we like and we are leaving until he is here to decide on tue name officially
Margot-hope you have a lovely chilled day. I love that you are considering boys names too, my friend gave birth last oct she was told it was a girl at scan but had a boy, they hadnt even considered names he was nameless for 3 weeks!
JT-no advice on the elcs but I hope the appointment goes well and you get the answer you want
IDC-a train cake wow that sounds amazing, you must flash some pics when its done.I have that fear with names too but luckily im due first out of all my friends
Samjh87-welcome to the 2nd tri, glad the scan went well.
PW-hope your having a fab time at centre parcs. Eekkk for the 3rd tri
Twink-im finding I go to bed a bit earlier but its not a struggle to get up in the morning anymore
Popcorn-I find i have massive growth spurts too, ive pretty much doubled in the last 2 weeks
AFM sorry ive been missing this week, had 2 13 hour days at work so too late to get on by the time im home, all well with baby moving lots, I must actully get cracking with purchasing stuff for the baby!
01/05/2013 at 10:10
Popcorn- I have also spent a ridiculous amount of time researching cloth nappies. Just when I think I'm getting to grasps with it I'll read a review/ article and be right back to square one! I was speaking to my mum about it last night and was saying 20ish would be enough which she thought would be mental and I would be forever washing. Let me know your plans on what you are planning on buying before as I may just have to dive in and work out the rest after baby is here.

Bridget – hope the appointment goes well on Friday. Name wise – we have a list of 10 names for each, but we do have definite middle names. H would be quite happy at the moment to leave the names that long, but I’ve come to a compromise that we need to have max. 5 names on each list. What a nightmare, panicking you like that?!
Margot – you definitely deserve a rest after that morning!
Jellytot – hope your appointment goes well too and that they listen to your thoughts on what you want.
IDC – train cake sounds like fun! What a lucky son you have. Good luck with that.
Samjh87 – welcome to 2nd tri! Glad your scan went well.
Pirate Wife – enjoy your break! Scariness that you’re going to be returning to 3rd tri. Good luck over in the scary big girls tri.
Twink – it’s nice to be organised (I like it!) means you won’t have to panic nearer the time and just be able to enjoy it and all this baby stuff is very exciting!
Popcorn – I’m sure you’ve probably been told this loads of times, but I emailed the Nappy Lady and she was really helpful with suggestions although I already knew I wanted to go down the traditional terry nappies route, I didn’t really know what else I needed. We’re getting 20 terry nappies, then 5 wraps to go over them. We’re assuming we’re going to be doing a wash every other day. We aren’t planning on using the cloth until baby weighs 10lb as we didn’t want to spend loads of money on smaller wraps etc to discover baby might not be in them for long and will give us time to get used to having a baby first!
Noodle – hope you’re managing to get a rest today after those two very long days!
AFM – I manage a night of sleep with only 2 trips to the loo! I was impressed, though I don’t know if I was laying weird but if I stayed on my left side too long I got a pain in my left leg, this usually meant just as I was getting comfy it was time to move. Spent last night looking at bedding and mobiles last night, for H to almost announce that he doesn’t particularly like Disney?! I’m in shock at this man I married! I think it was more that he was worried I’d try and overload the place with Disney.. As he’s let me put up Winnie the Pooh canvas’ and look at a mobile.
01/05/2013 at 10:51
Sapphire, I'm sorry, I have to agree with your H! One winnie the pooh sleepsuit is all the Disney Alex had ever worn!
Re your sleep, have a look a a dream genie pillow, as soon as I can no longer sleep on my front - probably next week - I'll be getting mine back out.
01/05/2013 at 10:56
BG ha to leaving all the pink, you will soon get used to it! Good lucky with the names
Margot have a good day. We've got a name for both too. We're meant to be having a boy but there is always a chance it's wrong.
Jelly tot hope your appointment goes well
Idc glad all is ok, it is a worry someone close using your name
Sam welcome to 2nd tri! I found 2nd tri goes much quicker than 1st so shouldn't be long till your next scan
PW hope your having a great time at centerparcs!
Twink exciting how your nursery is coming on, can't wait to see it
Popcorn everybody seems to have this major growth around 16-20 weeks I remember feeling the same
Noodle hope you manage to get some rest
Afm I had my mat leave meeting yesterday with my manager. I'm finishing work at 32 weeks as I have 6 weeks annual leave to take, then mat leave starts at 38 weeks. I have a planned return date of 5th August 2014!! Taking the whole year off (or 14 months with all my annual leave) but will do kit days from about 10 months during the three months of no pay I think.
Day off today having afternoon tea with some friends and their baby boys who are 6 months old...too cute! My friend lives nearly an hour away but it should be a nice drive as its a gorgeous day!
01/05/2013 at 11:15
Sapphire- at leasr you have some disney, nice of H to suddenly share he doesnt like it lol, also second BG with the dream geni reccomendation so worth it!
Duckford-have a lovely day, feels a bit real now youve sorted out mat leave I expect!
BG-I meant to ask you if you have got your head around the baby girl news?
01/05/2013 at 11:20
BG - you can't say that your H isn't diverse with name choices!
Noodle - oof that's some long days, take it easy lady!
Sam - will keep you posted on how my cloth nappy journey progresses. I think we are going to ease ourselves in gently and just get a few different types and then work out what suits us.
sapphire - yes I emailed the Nappy Lady thanks :) I also did the questionnaire on Fill Your Pants, and then discovered that an old school friend is now one of their cloth nappy gurus so I'm hoping to get in touch with her and pick her brains. She lives near me so might offer her cake in return for all the inside knowledge. On a separate note, your H doesn't like Disney? Oh no! I am a little biased as I spent most of my Saturday afternoon watching Aladdin...:)
DF - That's lovely to have so much annual leave to help with your ML, I am hoping to have the same. Enjoy your day off, sounds lovely x
01/05/2013 at 11:28
I have a strange feeling he never watched or read that much disney when he was little, so doesn't understand how amazing Disney is?! His parents are a bit weird like that!
01/05/2013 at 11:33
Getting there slowly Noodle. I think it may take H a bit longer though, in his words the only thing he knows about girls is how to perv over them (to clarify, he was meaning late teens on). He was fretting last night if he'd have to do her hair when taking her to nursery.
Still feels so weird referring to bump as she/her though!
