Well, after a night of torrential rain and gale force winds, we've woken up to.....heavy rain! This weather is so depressing :-(
Had rubbish night's sleep as keep getting aches/pains in my hips whilst lying down, feeling like an old lady this morning!
What's everyone doing today?
15/05/2013 at 07:43
Hi BE. Yeah awful isn't it, I was awake in the night listening to the wind & rain battering against the window :-(
Not much happening here. Trip to Tesco this morning and MIL is coming for dinner so we can her our news. Not looking forward to it. She is a bit weird :-)
15/05/2013 at 07:48
BE, sorry to hear about your hips. A bad nights sleep makes everything so much harder, doesn't it? We've got poop weather too, the rain woke me up at 3am!
WH- aren't all mil's weird? Haha! Enjoy telling her though, if you can!
AFM- I've no news really. I'm absolutely dreading tomorrow, it's at 8pm so I've got all day to wait for it too. At least with it being at night I don't have to worry about going back into work, in case it's bad news.
15/05/2013 at 08:16
Morning BE that sounds sore, you'll be looking forward to an early night tonight!
HF have a good day, hope she's not to weird tonight!
Imp I didn't realise your appointment was as late. I'm keeping everything crossed but I'm sure it will be ok, this has been such a slow week!
AFM we actually have sun this morning but were forecast rain so I know it won't be around long! Feeling better this morning in the sense that I fell really sick which is reassuring! I'll phone today but at worst, I have the scan on sat morning so not long.
Jem I saw your post this morning from last night, that's good you have a scan booked too, following HFs good news on Monday lets hope it's a good luck sweep for all of us this week xx

we have rubbishe weather too BE! our room is a loft conversion too so the rain pounds down loudly on the velux windows!
HF that made me laugh! She'll be excited wont she!
Imp- is there anything you can do to keep yourself distracted all day?! If it was me id clean my desk, it is a state and im sure it would take my mind of it!
MDD- this sounds weird but im glad your feeling sick! Glad that your feelign happier today, bet the sunshine helps too!
AFM- feeling rough this morning, ever since I woke up, managed to get some toast down which helped for about 10 mins then the nausea came back. Im not a happy bunny!
At work all day (&slightly inspired to clean my desk) then Im off the the retail park afterwork to get a 2nd birthday pressie for my friends daughter.
One of my best mates who is also pregnant live right around the corner so im sure i can drag her along, we'll probably get distracted in mothercare & mama's & papas!
Things are feeling a bit more official now after seeing the midwife yday. Almost as if the fact that I have a midwife means I am officially pregnant now! This morning nausea is highlighting the fact too!
ETA: 9 weeks today! :-)

BE, sorry to hear that you had a bad nights sleep. Hope your hips are better today.
HF - have fun telling your MIL.....
Imp - I will be thinking about you tomorrow. I'll be taking some clients out for dinner tomorrow evening (oh how much fun that will be) but I will check my phone as soon as I can, and I will be sending you all my good vibes. In fact, I think I'm in your neck of the woods tomorrow (unless I'm wrong about where you live) so they'll be nice strong, from-round-the-corner vibes :-). It will fine, I know it will. xxx
Missdeedee- glad you're feeling sick! Ha ha. you know what I mean. Your scan will be fine too. It'll be a good week in here. x
Mrs Bass - have fun shopping this evening. How many weeks are you now? My first appointment with the midwife isn't for ages yet.
AFM - felt a bit sicky this morning but I also have a horrible cold so I'm not sure if it's pregnancy nausea or just illness. I don't really feel pregnant at the mo but I'm trying not to think about it. Got a 4:30am start tomorrow as have to be checked in at Heathrow for a flight by 7:30am, to go to a meeting. Very unfair since I have just resigned from this sodding job. I guess it's punishment or something.

Im 9 weeks today Penny! How much longer have you got to wait, i got the impression they did it around the 8 week mark!
your early morning sucks, especially as its for a work trip and not a holiday!
15/05/2013 at 10:12
I have to wait until 11 weeks which I think is a bit late but apparently is normal in some areas. I'm just a bit concerned that if I need advice or something I haven't got a professional looking after me until the critical 1st Tri is almost over.
15/05/2013 at 10:15
Hopefully their referal process for getting a scan isnt too long either!
My friend had her first midwife appointment on Friday and she got a text yday to tell her her scan is next wednesday! Im hoping mine will be that quick but i doubt i'll be so lucky! she is off on holiday for half term so i think they sped her up!
15/05/2013 at 10:18
Hello! So - I have done a new member thread as per the new members sticky post - and been directed here! I seem to be getting of lightly so far - no real sickness yet (I feel a bit nauseous when hungry, but haven't puked or suffered too badly).
I have a booking appointment next week, and dating scan a few weeks after - so it is starting to all feel a bit real!
15/05/2013 at 10:24
Ah see I already have a scan date, for 12 weeks - and it's right in the middle of my holiday. I've been trying to call them all morning to rearrange but they are constantly busy. Isn't it weird how it can be so different in different areas? Hopefully your referal will be nice and quick.
Hello ponynut, welcome to 1st Tri.
15/05/2013 at 10:41
BE - it does indeed suck :(
HF - I think hey are all weird but hope it goes well.
Imp, good luck, I'll be thinking of you x
MDD - Good that you have nausea, but it is pants too isn't it x
Mrs Bass - Enjoy shopping!
Penny - that's rubbish! A 430am start would have me on my knees!
Ponynut - hi!
As for me, scan yesterday was fab! The most lovely sonographer I've ever had. All is good, heard the heartbeat and I'm now 13 weeks exactly.
And this one

Quick catch up from me...
Missdee- I am so glad that you are feeling a bit happier today. yayyy for the MS! Have you spoken to the EPU this morning?
Mrs Bass, yay for it feeling more official now. Sorry you're feeling rotten this morning though, but at least it's reassuring.
Penny, thanks for all your vibes, keep em coming! Booo to the early morning tomorrow, if you feel sick this morning, it could be worse tomorrow with the early start? Are you flying to Manchester? That's where I am.
Ponynut- welcome to the first tri thread.
Cherry garcia, glad that the sonographer was nice and what a lovely picture of the little bubba. You'll be off to 2nd tri soon!
15/05/2013 at 11:14
Yep Imp I am coming to Manchester - got a very boring meeting all day, and then dinner in the evening, with clients. Will be a whole heap of fun . But I won't be paying too much attention tbh (why should I bother now?) so I will most definitely be concentrating on sending you vibes all day.
Aww CG what a lovely scan pic
15/05/2013 at 11:16
Oh and I've finally got through to the hospital - re-arranged my scan. It'll be the day after I get back from holiday, which I suppose will be a good thing, as they can check to see if my little bean is happy in there after a week in the sun. I'll be about 13+1 or 12+4 , depending on whether you trust my dates (yep) or the early scan date (nope!).
15/05/2013 at 11:18
Yay for changing your scan date, that's great news penny.
Thanks again for all your vibes! :)
Glad you have a date sorted - mine is about 3 days BEFORE I go on holiday.
15/05/2013 at 11:32
Ponynut, will that be your early scan or your 12 week one?
15/05/2013 at 11:34
12 weeks. I have not had an earlier scan ... should I have?
15/05/2013 at 11:46
No,I just thought you mentioned a dating scan in your intro post but I guess you'll just get properly dated at your 12 week one.
Some of us have had early scans at 6-8 weeks for various reaons (mainly privates scans for reassurance). But you don't need one unless you are referred by the doctor or have a medical history that suggests that you should.
