Morning CoCo - your weekend plans sound ace! Who doesn't love food and a bit of pampering!
AFM - I have another scan today. The midwife booked it for me at EPU just to check everything is ok after the bleed at the weekend. The twinnies survived several bleeds so far so I am really hoping they are still snug and happy in there! Scan is at 10am so will report back later.

Coco - sounds like a fab weekend!
Ducky - hope your scan goes well today
Nothing changed much here, I'm forcing myself to eat a bit more normally, although only certain things I can face. It's my last day of the week in the office at least so i don't need to sick at my desk feeling sick for a few days once I've got today out of the way. 1st midwife appointment next Monday - I'm wondering if I need to take a sample, although they never mentioned when I booked it - I'll call them at some point to check, need to book a blood test for a couple of weeks time anyway.

Coco - weekend sounds perfect! We're helping my BIL move - the joys!
Ducky - good luck for your scan
DD - my mw never mentioned taking a sample (although she is coming to my house), maybe they just get you to do one there and then?
AFM: I had some brown discharge last night and again this morning so I've been to see my GP and he's referred me to EPU for a scan but they cant fit me in until Friday morning. So I'm taking today off work to put my feet up and try not to stress too much. I keep going from thinking everything will be ok, to sheer panic that its happening all over again. Sod's law that as I got home from the GP the hospital rang about my early scan which would also have been Friday morning, so I told them about the EPU scan and they've cancelled theirs.

Coco - sounds like a fab wkend ahead, especially a new hair cut! I love getting my hair done.
Ducky - crossing absolutely everything for you lovely & will keep an eye for your update x
Deedee - Its hard to eat when you feel so sick :( I am finding milkshakes quite easy to go down, perhaps try sthing like that? Yea to last day at the office!
Browny - Feet up & rest loads! I am sure all is fine but scan will put your mind at rest. Typical the 2 appointments clash!
AFM - have a conference today so I might not get on here again. Just really bad headaches today but dont feel overly sick. Have midwife tomorrow, must remember to do my urine sample in morning!
Hi to all who follow x
29/01/2014 at 10:24
Browny - it's at the GP surgery so not that simple to go out and do a sample when I'm there. I'll see what the surgery say when I get round to calling them - probably not today while I'm in the office! Sorry to hear about the discharge, it is so worrying - I'm glad you've been referred to the EPU, and good idea to rest up xx
SaSaSi - I can't think of much worse than milkshakes! I've just had an apple which I actually enjoyed. Yey for lack of sicky feeling, but boo for headaches - hope the conference goes ok x
29/01/2014 at 10:46
Ducky - everything crossed for the scan for you, hope it puts your mind at rest.
DD - I had to do a sample for mine, but she came here so I just had to try and squeeze a wee out there and then...maybe worth having one ready if you can.
Browny - Sorry you've got to wait until Friday. You've definitely done the right thing resting . Everything crossed for you that it's nothing cc
SaSaSi - Boo to headaches during a conference, not a good combo! But yay to MW appointments:-)

Morning! Coco, your plans sound lovely.
Ducky, good luck with the scan. It's nice that you sound positive about it all.
Deedee, I didn't need a sample for my booking appt, but have been told they may ask for them at later appts.
Browny, remember you're a lot further on than last time aren't you? So much more likely that things are OK. FX for Friday xx
SaSaSi, you sound busy!
AFM, lounging in bed after another horrible night's sleep. I can't seem to get to sleep until about 1am, then the cat always wakes me at 5.30ish, which is perfect on a work day, not so good on a day off. He needs to learn my shifts. Anyway, I went back to sleep, and woke about an hour ago. Hubby is still sick in the spare room. He is actually running a fever so not malingering after all. I am trying to pluck up the courage to call work and tell them I'm pregnant. It has to be done, but for some reason I feel like a naughty child. And this phone call will change everything for the next 12+ months. Eeeek!
29/01/2014 at 11:40
Coco - thanks, I'll see what the docs say when I call them
Barefoot - oh yes, I remember having to take a sample to every mw appointment after, but just can't remember the actual booking in one. Hope you get some rest and feel better soon. Good luck with the phone call x
29/01/2014 at 11:45
Coco - your week sounds lovely! Hopefully time goes quickly for next friday!
Ducky - really pleased you had the scan. Hope it went well!
DD - my appointments always had pots provided but I didn't have any at my GP's so maybe you would? Hope you have a nice few days off and manage to rest a bit.
Browny - really pleased you got a scan, I hope it puts your mind at ease and you get to see your little bean bouncing around. I have everything crossed for you.
Sasasi - hope the headache goes, especially for the conference! What a pain, literally. Hope the appointment goes well tomorrow.
AFM - last day on 1st tri!! how on earth did that happen? Not much to report baby wise so I guess it will be a quiet exit from me.
Hope to see you all over there soon! Good luck with the rest of 1st tri ladies xx
29/01/2014 at 11:46
missed you there BB. Hope the phone call goes well! I felt like a naughty kid telling my mum but work was fine haha.
29/01/2014 at 12:14
Coco - weekend sounds fab - love the sound of anything that involves eating out! eeek not long til your scan - bet friday seems like an eternity away
Ducky - I hope the little ducky twins are ok and will keep checking back here for an update
DD - sorry to hear the sickness is still there. At my first MW app. I got handed a test tube and told to give a sample. Lucky I have no trouble ever producing a sample! There's also a sign asking for people to reuse them. Eww ewww eww do people really do that?
Browny - all the vibes for Friday's scan
Sasasi - hope the headache fades and the conference not too dull!
BF - hope the phonecall goes ok - I felt really nervous telling my boss but not sure why
Jonsey - woo congratulatons on graduating to second tri - hope to catch up with you very shorty
AFM I think this is my last week . Today I am 13.5 but will wait until week 14 I think! I don't know why.
So tired all the time. Had a late one last night as went into town to see Strangers on a Train which was fab, and struggling today. Oh fully caffinated coffee how I miss your goodness.

Argh well that was a lot of getting worked up for nothing. I don't have the big boss's mobile, so called his deputy who usually deals with this sort of thing, and he didn't answer. I've emailed the pair of them, and will try again later. If they don't reply, I'll have to call the duty officer in the morning, but I can say bye bye to confidentiality if the duty teams know straight off. I just want to get Saturday's scan out of the way, but as said before, if I don't tell them, I won't get the time off for the scan. Grrrrr.
29/01/2014 at 12:17
Nice and busy today! Scan went well. I've had some sort of coloured cm every day for the last 4 weeks. Sometimes it is bleeding fresh red, sometimes wine:plummy red, sometimes brown. I think I have to accept that I am just a bleeder.
Twins were absolutely fine, measuring 8+5 and no pooled blood was visible in my uterus. Consultant said it could be from my cervix or even womb lining that is growing on the outside of my cervix.
29/01/2014 at 12:22
Browny - I know any bleeding is scary - believe me! Every time I see it my heart sinks and I panic but the twins have survived it all. It really isn't always bad news and spotting is so much more common than we think.
Deedee - sorry you're feeling rubbish. I took a sample to my booking in app and they did ask for it and did the dip sticks. I'd do one before you go in, saves doing it under pressure when they are waiting for your to return with it!
Barefoot - Boo to not sleeping and a poorly H. Hope it is short lived. Have you had any more pains?
SaSaSi - I bet a conference is exactly where you want to be all day with a sicky headache - Not!
Oo friend is here for lunch. Will complete personals later!
29/01/2014 at 12:35
Fab scan pics Ducky!! I was a bit of a bleeder last time too (mostly just spotting actually) but fortunately haven't had any this time.
CJ - yep, always had to reuse the tubes last time too - isn't very pleasant!
barefoot - hope you hear back, although if you do have to call the duty office tomorrow then surely they should keep your news confidential if you ask them too.

Update!! Got an immediate email reply saying I could go in there and then and speak with the main manager. Just got back and really pleased. My main request was to stay on the road, looking after 2 trainees at a time thus avoiding any lifting, carrying or driving. I thought it would be an immediate no, but he agreed to phone HR and ask. HR said there was a precedent, they did that a few yrs ago for someone in another district, so they are getting their health and safety bod to draw up a risk assessment. Its not a definite yes, but it's not a no either. Failing that, they will investigate me being able to do some hospital liaison work instead, but even when I DO have to be office based, I can follow my shift pattern (but when on nights, just do days instead) so not be in 5 days a week. All generally positive. For now, until they sort it out, they've said not to bother going in. I have an assessment day on 4th and regular training on 6th, but that's all until 9th ish. My 3 nights Fri to Sun have just been cancelled and I'll pay back the hours when they know what to do with me. Just need to wait for them to call when H&S has finished their forms.
Generally fairly happy with that :-)

Quick hi to Ducky! Great pics, bet you're chuffed! I have had a few more crampy pains, but trying to take it in my stride. Consultant did say I may have a lot of pain in the pregnancy due to fibroids, so as long as I'm not bleeding and can manage the pain, I'm staying calm. Scans on Saturday and Wednesday to come, so keeping fingers crossed until then. Thanks for thinking of me xx
29/01/2014 at 15:56
Crashing to say glad all is ok ducky and what fab pictures!xxx
29/01/2014 at 16:57
