Oh and to MissDD - we don't plan to find out the sex today. I'd like a little surprise, H wants to know so who knows what will happen!!!!!!
19/02/2014 at 07:12
CA all my luck today for a great scan. I'm sure your little baby will be wriggling away in there and you'll love seeing them again. Will look forward to your update later.
AFM- well still on cloud 9 from yesterday, I think i might have to let myself believe it now? Eeek!
19/02/2014 at 07:23
CA, good luck for your scan today. Looking forward to another positive report and a pic later.
Imp- you definitely should be on cloud nine for a little bit, yay! Will you be starting a spending spree soon?
Afm, I'll be off work today again as J is still fairly poorly. I'm hoping he picks up a bit today, yesterday and particularly Monday in hospital he just looked so sorry for himself. Obviously have no plans the involve leaving the house, will be another sofa day.
19/02/2014 at 07:26
Ah SG I hope he feels better soon too. You just feel a bit helpless when he feels so rotten. Plenty of snuggles on the sofa again?
I might start shopping this weekend! We are heading to the baby show at excel as I really want to see the new icandy raspberry. If we like it we might place an order. It feels early but I guess we've got to start somewhere.
19/02/2014 at 07:32
Good luck for today CA. I hope you get to keep it a surprise then, although it's hard when they ask if you want to know! What time is your scan?
Imp - get shopping!! It will feel amazing now xx
19/02/2014 at 07:43
Good luck CA- find out go on you know you want to!
Imp- I'm still beaming about your scan so can't imagine how happy you are ! Will you go shopping now?
SG- hope I perks up a bit today Hun xx
Afm- iv been a bad poster recently, and I'm sorry especially as on Monday I enter the third tri! OMG! Today I have diabetes clinic to follow up from last week and I don't know how it will go. My readings have been beyond perfect, they alsmost look made up because iv followed the diet well, but in doing so they have found ketones in my urine :-( which means my body has put itself into starvation mode, so I think we need to find a happy medium that includes some white carbs. But I will find out more today!
19/02/2014 at 07:47
CA everything crossed for you today, can't wait to see your update and pic :)
Imp it's not surprising you are still on cloud 9 it's fantastic, isn't it, you'll be walking with a spring in your step :)
SG sorry to hear your little man is poorly I hope he gets better soon :)
Mon I hope all goes well at the clinic today
AFM I sent the text to mw yesterday and she said to look on the internet for a support belt for the spd, no idea if they are efficient or not. Our little dude is moving constantly now which is smashing. My H and I actually saw him at the same time last night making my belly move awww :) I tried filming it but it didn't come out, oh well.
Hello those that follow :)
19/02/2014 at 08:08
Eek so busy already....I wish it were easier on my phone! Haha!
CA - Enjoy seeing your little one again today, surprised really are awesome! As much as I'm tempted to know this time round I know we won't as we enjoyed it so much with I! Look forward to your update!
Imp - completely made up for you....you're having a baby :-)
SG - Poor more, hope he's better soon. It's rotten when they're poorly as you'd do anything to make then better.
MissDD - Hiya love, hope you're all well.
Monnie - hope your appointment goes well and you can find a middle ground. Can't believe you're nearly 3rd tri already!
LL - I've no experience of belts myself but know they have helped some. In our area we can self refer for physio and belts etc on NHS...may be worth a look first to save expense? I love the belt wobbler movements, can't wait!
AFM - Finally I had a better night's sleep....found a way to get my IBS back pain under control in bed ....I put my long maternity pillow under my back and folded round the sides, soooo comfy! Definitely easing now thankfully as I can stand up straight this morning! (docs was waste of time, can't take anything apparently....just been taking paracetamol before bed to take edge off enough to doze off). Hoping stays dry for a bit today as want to get O out for a bit and can't face half term soft play! He is however having a haircut this PM,much to his disgust! His hair is so thick and grows so fast, but he gets so upset at the hairdressers bless him, tears, snot, the works!
Have a good day all xx

CA, all the luck in the world for today for your scan, not that you'll need it. I'm so looking forward to seeing your pic later :) xx
Imp, huge congratulations for yesterday!! I am so happy for you, that's a proper baby you have kicking around in there!! Eeeek!!
SG, lots of get well wishes to J, I hope he's feeling much better very soon.
Mon, hope it all goes well at the clinic.
LL, hope you can find a support belt that works for you soon.
Coco, glad to hear you had a better night's sleep and that your pillow seems to be helping. Good luck at the hairdressers later!
AFM, for those of you who asked yesterday, I opted for the extra half hour in bed and then washed my hair anyway...and was then rushing round like a crazy person trying to get ready on time! Haha. Yesterday was a long day, I came straight home and slept. Still feeling tired today but not as bad. I have another busy afternoon and then Thurs and Fri off before working again on Saturday. I'm trying to decide if I can face a three hour each way train journey tomorrow to view a house.
Baby wise my bump was sore yesterday, like when you do too much exercise sore. I think me and baby both over did it yesterday. Glad I can at least chill a bit this morning.
Happy Hump Day!

Morning all! Wow this is a bit different from first tri! Only 9am and already nearly too busy to keep track of! I had a rubbish day yesterday so hoping today gets better. Planning to sort out more of the office that ill be a nursery, but need to go through 6 yrs worth of professional development stuff and course notes from various work stuff, decide what's useful and what's binnable, then refile it all. Can't see it all getting done today but I'll make a start.
Went out last night for a colleague's leaving do' Really nice to see people - since September work has changed so we never really see our colleagues anymore, so great for a catch up. Chatted to a few people for ages then later was saying bye and I got a "wow, didn't know you were pregnant!". Errrm I was wearing a tunic top, maternity leggings and a very obvious bump (always bumpier in the evening due to added bloat!) whereas pre pregnancy I was size 8 with a washboard stomach. What did they think had happened? Raid on a doughnut factory?!
Pregnancy wise, debating whether to see the private clinic before my 16 week mw appt. Problem is when I had an emergency scan at 9 weeks due to severe pain (private since EPAU couldn't see me for 5 days) there were big issues with my fibroids and the consultant said to keep an eye on things. Me in my panic then told my mw I was high risk and she therefore said no MLU or home birth for me anymore. I've since had 2 further scans at the clinic and things are fine, but I know mw is going down the high risk route, and although I am meant to have seen an NHS consultant for review, it hasn't happened. I just want the mw to really know what's what, since I need to choose my final hospital soon and want a choice. The nearest to me has no MLU but is convenient. However, 45 mins away is one with a fab new MLU linked to the main delivery suite in case of problems. If I can go back to low risk, I'll go there, but if mw insists high risk I'll stay local, but I don't want my risk based on one panicked phone call 6 weeks ago!

coco- my mum has IBS and so i empathise i know how awful it can be, cant wait to see a pic of O's haircut, whenever i see pics of him i think what lovely hair
Figaro -half hour makes a load of difference doesnt it
barefoot i think the rules are that if you are classed as high risk at booking with the midwife then thats how you stay throughout the pregnancy im afraid
19/02/2014 at 09:32
Fig - Hope today goes smoothly and quickly and you have a nice couple of days off! ooh, are you hoping to move too? We're moving in April when I'll be roughly 22 weeks....can't be doing with the faff of moving especially while pregnant BUT this house is going to be the perfect family home....far bigger for our growing family! Hope the commute isn't too bad if you decide to go look xx
19/02/2014 at 09:36
Monnie that's the thing. I wasn't high risk at booking, I was supposed to be midwife led. It was only because I had the pains and scan then panicked that the mw has changed me, but actually there's not a big problem with things anymore.
19/02/2014 at 09:40
Mon good luck for today, I hope it's all manageable.
Ll I hope the belt helps you, it must be miserable being so sore.
Fig I hope today is much easier for you lovely lady, an achey bump and exhaustion sounds no fun whatsoever.
Coco good luck at the hairdressers. I hope it's not too traumatic! Glad you slept better too.
Monnie - shall update his pic on FB later.
BF - WMonnieS, and I'd chase MW re: consultant. Not sure she'd reclassify just based on a private scan anyway tbh even if she could
19/02/2014 at 09:41
barefoot ask your midwife
19/02/2014 at 09:59
Yes, I will. Just means I'll have to wait until my appt, so probably best I see my private consultant in the meantime, so he can put stuff in my notes for the mw. I know this seems confusing, and it would be better just to have one set of care, but the private team use delivery rooms at a hospital I really really don't want to go to (clinic is 15 mins away but hospital is nearly an hour at anytime other than pre 6am), hence needing to keep NHS care for delivery. Complicated but so far it's sort of working.

Thanks Coco, we're planning to move from up North down to Surrey. H spends a lot of time travelling for work, and most of his jobs seem to be down south, so we need to move or he's going to miss his baby growing up. We've given ourselves one more month to find somewhere to put in an offer on before we look for a rental. I want to at least be at the right end of the country before Baby Fig arrives.
19/02/2014 at 10:37
Absolutely understand that Fig - we moved to a different area when O was 4 months old, and it was so hard with a young baby....better to be at least in the right area before baby is born (plus the advantage if moving when pregnant is minimal moving stuff for us bumped ladies ;-) )
