How are we all? Did anyone watch the mw programme on BBC2 last night? I'm normally ok with things like that butithe crash section really shook me up. Luckily my mw fried talked me down from asking for a section when I see the cons today!
Had a productive day yesterday, got all the things I think I need for baby and my hospital bag, even my tens hire arrived. Just need to actually pack the bag now as get some drawers to put baby things away. Alex chose his present for the baby yesterday, was all excited by it buy when he showed H in the evening he waI telling him it's for him rather than from him.
On the early early train to work as have to leave at 1.30 to get back for cons appt, it's going to take me forever to get into the carpark, all for a 5 minute useless appt. Will update later.
Congrats again to IDC, and I think someone mention Rhian yesterday, I've been thinking of her too.
21/08/2013 at 07:15
Morning. I watched it too. Had me in tears. I really shouldn't have watched. seemed alot more real than OBEM.
Hope your appointment goes well.
Afm - nothing happening here. If baby not here by sunday MW is going to sweep me again on the sunday and get me booked for induction. Watching the inductions last night has mexall stressed about it now but we'll see what happens.
Congrats again to IDC and hope rhian is ok x
21/08/2013 at 07:18
Were you induced last time Daisy?
21/08/2013 at 07:24
No but it was booked for day 12 if she hadn't arrived. But she did thankfully.
BG, good luck with your cons this afternoon, am I right in thinking you are hoping for a vbac? I had a really positive vbac with A and hoping for the same again.
Daisy, am watching out for your BA!! Lets hope you don't need sweep or induction. Was your first LO late?
AFM, last day at work before the bank holiday weekend, have a feeling its going to be busy. Feeling uncomfortable now and so ready to finish work. Looking forward to the long weekend at the seaside :)
21/08/2013 at 07:27
Daisy - chances are you won't need an induction this time, and even if you do your body has done this before, so it shouldn't take too long to get things going.
N - I am indeed hoping for a vbac, it's always good to hear of successful ones so thank you! Long weekend at the seaside sounds fab. How long do you have left at work?
21/08/2013 at 07:39
Morning all, just poking my head in to say hello! Congrats again to IDC.
BG, hope the appointment isn't a waste of time and it's still all go for your vbac.
Daisy, lots of baby out vibes for you, hopefully the threat of induction will kick baby into action!
Noggin, hope the last day goes quickly and you have a lovely weekend.
We're doing well here, I'm feeling really good after the section and seem to have recovered faster this time than either of the other two. Naomi is gorgeous, think we are in the middle of the first growth spurt but hopefully it won't last long. Her brothers are besotted - Jacob has taken a bit longer to get used to her but seems very taken now. Next thing is to get my head round using cloth nappies, we tried yesterday but had leaks but I think I know why, so might try again later on today.
Lots of love to everyone, I miss posting here every day!

I didn't see the MW programme, sounds like it might be best steered away from!
BG good luck at the cons appt. Also thank you for reminding me I need to source a tens machine! We've changed plan with the horses slightly in that the 2y/o is field sharing with 2 other liveries, and we all work it on a shift rota so I look after all 4 horses but only 2 days a week. As they're living out, it's only water and poo-picking and I can fill the barrows, just not push them once full or empty them so hubby is being wonderful and helping me with that. The other 5 days a week I just go up to cuddle her! The 8y/o is on loan (same yard) so I can see her if I want to but I don't have to do anything with her.
Daisy, hope the induction isn't necessary. These babies like to make life difficult don't they! Maybe the canoodling will help?!
Noggin, hope work isn't too hectic. Is this your last day of work completely, or just until after your weekend away?
Margot, lovely to see you! I'm glad you're healing well and that the boys have taken to N.
Noodle, hope you're feeling better today. I had a crying-at-everything day on Monday - these hormones hey!
Big congratulations to IDC! Looking forward to pics.
AFM, work continues to be a struggle - I feel so pathetic, I don't know how people work up until term! I had physio yesterday which eased the sciatica for an hour or two, but unfortunately it was just as bad after that. I have students in today though, they will distract me I'm sure! We're having a crafty day (run by someone else) so as I got ahead with my planning yesterday I'm hoping to join in and want to make a clock for the nursery. Thank you for all your lovely comments yesterday, I'm really pleased with how the nursery is coming on. I'm not particularly creative really, but I 'see' an entire room in my mind and just follow that image - drives my husband mad because he can't understand how I can be choosing lampshades and bed linen before we've even got the wallpaper up

BG- I managed to skip it. I flicked it over and it all looked really scary so turned it off! Sounds like you had a very productive day yesterday. Let us know how you get on at your cons appt later.
Daisy- Sending you all the baby out vibes I can muster! Come on baby, we need another BA! Hope things kick off for you soon and you don't need your sweep on Sunday.
Noggin- Nice long weekend ahead for you. Hope today isn't too busy but goes quickly for you!
Margot- So lovely to 'see' you over here again :) Glad Naomi is doing well and the boys have taken to her. Let us know how you get on with the cloth nappies x
AFM- Not much to report. I keep waking up during the night and I'm wide awake for about an hour with things swirling around my head. Think I am just worrying about how much we need to get sorted before baby is here and it feels like time is going too quickly. We are also trying to pay off some debt we have so our outgoings are as little as possible while i'm on maternity leave which means money has been really tight.. hence another reason for me to worry! Just want everything to be organised so I can relax now.
Hope everyone has a lovely day x

BG I didn't see the MW programme, I will have to look to see if its on catch up
Daisy- fingers crossed you avoid induction
Nog- enjoy the seaside, I think the weather is meant to be good this weekend
Margot- hello nice to "see you" glad you are recovering well.
Mrs50s enjoy your craft day. How long have you got left at work?
Sam- I know what you mean about how time is going too quickly. Very scary!
AFM midwife appointment today. Need to ask about whooping cough vaccine as it hasn't been offered to me yet.
Was also wondering when they start flu vaccines- is it September or October? Just wondering if I will be able to get one of them before I'm due or not
21/08/2013 at 08:48
JT- I just booked for whooping cough vaccine with my doctors. It was never mentioned to me by the MW either and after being told on here and looking on NHS website it is recommended for everyone during pregnancy. Whilst I was on I asked about flu vaccine too and was told that they don't start getting them in until early Sept time. Good luck at your appt x
21/08/2013 at 09:18
Congrats to IDC!!
I was wondering about Rhian and also Duckford as well, haven't seen either of them for a while.
BG - I recorded the MW programme as was at NCT last night so missed it (along with Great British Bake Off grr) so will watch later in the week. That's sweet that A has chosen his present for his little sister, I remember my little sister getting me a Care Bear, I thought it was amazing!
Daisy - more baby out vibes for you, if they don't work then hopefully the sweep will.
Noggin - weekend at the seaside sounds like a good idea, where are you going?
Margot - hello lovely, nice to see you! I was wondering how you were getting on with the cloth. Hope you manage to stop the leaks. I think there are a few first time cloth users in this tri so we'll have to have a catch up on progress once all the babies are here :)
Mrs50s - aw don't feel pathetic, pregnancy is definitely tougher than I thought it would be as well and that's without the pain that you've been having. There's no way I could work up to term (I'll be 35 weeks when I go) and I always thought I would go up to about 38 weeks but the thought of that is terrifying!
Sam - try to relax lovely, I've had some sleepless nights with things going round my head as well. Have you tried putting lavender oil on your pillow? It's a silly little thing but I drop off as soon as I smell it now and my sleep is a lot less disturbed.
JT - the nurse said end of Sept I think for flu vaccine, can't remember now? Hope you get your whooping cough sorted.
AFM - breastfeeding class last night and it was very informative. However, she was a little bit blase about the difficulties some women have when breastfeeding and didn't really go in to how to cover them, she did give us lots of information about local support groups though and we are free to speak to her as well if we struggle. I guess we just need to see how it goes. Quiz night at work tonight, with fish and chip supper, awesome :)
21/08/2013 at 09:31
Thanks for that Sam, I will book an appointment today.
21/08/2013 at 09:33
Missed you there PC- if they've given you the details for support groups then that's good, keep the numbers to hand for the early days.
21/08/2013 at 09:46
BG - Good luck at your cons appt, come back and update us x
Daisy - I really feel for you, I hope your little one doesnt keep you waiting too long.
Noggin - have a nice weekend, the sun should be out for you :)
Margot - good to hear from you! hope you sort the nappy situation out
50s - everyone is different, so take each day as it comes and take it easy. I am finishing work tomorrow and i will be 35+4, and tbh that is all i can take, if i had to work any longer i would cry! when are you starting your ML and do you have any holiday you could take beforehand to make it longer....?
Sam - I was offered a whoopiong cough injection but havent had it. I had a reaction to the whooping cough injection when i was younger and I never had it at school, so i dont really want to tempt it now. The baby gets an injection anyway so i am just going to wait for that. I was told it was done by the nurse at the Drs surgery, not by my midwife.
JT - you might just miss out on the flu vaccine x
PC - Glad your class went well. If you have all the support numbers and details of groups and things you should be fine.
AFM - only 2 days at work to go. I feel good, although today was a real struggle to get up! I am starting to get worried that my hospital bag isnt packed but I am sure i have plenty of time for it. I have a consultant appointment on friday to talk through my section and things, so i am looking forward to that.
poppy 35+3 xxx
21/08/2013 at 10:21
So, had my hosp appt on monday and baby is still breech. I declined the turning procedure coz I couldnt bare the thought of it so im booked jn to have c-section next friday x
21/08/2013 at 10:25
Poppy- Can understand why you wouldn't want to tempt having a reaction now. My MW never mentioned anything to me so called the doctors surgery myself. I'm booked in to have it with the nurse in a week or 2.
So close to mat leave now, bet you can't wait! I am sat here this morning wondering how I am going to get through the next 6 weeks. I have lost all motivation completely and every day is a struggle..
21/08/2013 at 10:48
Twink- sorry to hear baby hasn't wriggled around. How are you feeling about having your section booked? Is it strange knowing that you are going to meet baby next Friday! How exciting x
21/08/2013 at 11:02
Thanks Sam, I really cant wait, I have been very unproductive at work this week! Tomorrow is going to be a no work day, i really plan on doing nothing, but i bet i am really busy. I have cleared my desk out already!
Twink - how exciting that you get to meet your baby next week!!!!!! how do you feel about it all, now you know the actual date?
21/08/2013 at 11:04
PS - have you been given a date for your section? I'm starting to pack hospital bag now just in case, although last night I opened it and found my cat in it...not sure that would be allowed, much as I'd love to have him there!
twink - sorry baby hasn't moved, how are you feeling about having a c-section? There have been some really positive stories about ELCS from Mumdrummers recently x
