JB - is your section today? I know it's soon, good luck if it is today or tomorrow.
Baby out vibes to TT and anyone else who is ready and fed up!
AFM - start of my working week, another busy one not helped by me being on a training course all day today and a meeting over lunch. Still today's course title is 'negotiation and influencing' probably the one course in this series I'll use in the next year, what with a 2 yo at home.
Had a fairly chilled day in the pool yesterday with A and his friend. I didn't manage a nap in the afternoon but got a fair bit done, including a 40 minute call to work and logging in for over an hour... *sigh* 7 more weeks left.
17/07/2013 at 07:23
P.s. is anyone else bump a total crumb magnet? Eating my toast on the train and I think more of it ends up on the bump everyday. I'll need to start wearing a (XL) bib soon!
17/07/2013 at 07:51
Morning BG, that course definitely sounds useful for dealing with children! Bump's not the crumb magnet here but it's amazing the stuff I keep finding down my cleavage, it's not a good look to be fishing bits of food out of there!
Good luck to JB for your section, whenever it is, and lots of baby out vibes for TT and anyone else who needs them.
Day off here, so swimming this morning, then popping to town to try and find some shorts that will do for the next few weeks. Other than that a lazy day, kids are being utterly vile in this weather and Joshua is so ready for the end of term so after school will consist of me simply trying to get us all to bedtime in one piece!
17/07/2013 at 07:53
JB is keeping her section date quiet but I reckon we'll see a BA today or tomorrow :-)
BG - Enjoy the training course if you can, not too long to go now! Can't say I've had the crumb problem lol
AFM, everyone still asleep but I've been struggling to sleep last few days. I lie awake worrying about every aspect of labour :-( seeing my consultant at half 1 today to be examined and find out if I'm in tomorrow for prostin or Fri to get waters broken. Will update later. Once I know the plan I need to get the kids bags packed and will probably go through mine again. Fri and Sat are to be the hottest days up here which will just be lovely in hospital - think I can probably unpack baby's blanket anyway lol
Oh we fitted the car seat yesterday, very weird having 3 in the back!
17/07/2013 at 07:55
Missed you there Margot, my kids are being vile too. I'm glad my H is off work now to deal with A. H and M had shorts when I was in the other day if you have one near you
17/07/2013 at 08:10
Thanks Ally, will take a look there and think Primark have lots of cheapy stuff too which should fit if I get a bigger size. Lots of easy labour vibes for you, hope things go smoothly for you x
17/07/2013 at 08:35
Morning BG, most things get dripped down my bump now - even worse when you don't notice you've done it! Hope the course proves transferable to toddlers!
Margot, hope you find some shorts. I've not bothered as only two weeks to go, but getting pretty bored of the two maxi dresses I own!
Oh Ally, I hope the consultant can ease your mind a little and you get some sleep tonight. Let us know how you get on x
AFM - another scorcher here! Think I'm settling into mat leave now. Today I'm going for a pedicure, then visiting my gran who's in a nursing home, and then seeing my mum for lunch! My H is away with work until Friday night so hoping baby stays put at the moment. Midwife yesterday confirmed everything is fine but he's still only 1/5th engaged.
Baby out and good luck vibes for those who'd like them :)
17/07/2013 at 08:50
Baby out vibes over here please, I am done!!
BG - I have margots problem, I seem to catch everything in my massive cleavage!
M - Hope the kids are less vile today!
Ally - Good luck with the consultant, hope you have a definite plan by the end of the day.
PW - Sounds like a nice day.
AFM - still fed up with this pregnancy lark, 39 weeks today and no signs that I can tell of impending labour! Had a nice evening with friends last night, today I am off for a cuppa with friends this morning then lunch with a colleague/friend. Then home to flop as no doubt I'll be hot bothered and fed up by then!
17/07/2013 at 09:05
PW, enjoy the pedicure! I've only got 4 weeks left but hoping to find something I can wear afterwards too if it's cheap and cheerful.
Porkchop, enjoy meeting your friends, hope the heat isn't too bad for you.
17/07/2013 at 09:13
BG - my bump catches things :) hope your course is useful )
Margot - hope you all make it to bed time :)
Ally - hope you get a plan sorted! :)
PW - sounds like a nice day you have there :)
porkchop - enjoy you day :)
AFM - nothing new really. work is hard going. i ended up having a bit longer in bed today coz i was knackered. thought i had slept ok..think i just need more sleep! other than that nothing new :)

Bridget – ouch, doesn’t sound like a good working day. I hope it’s not too bad. Ha, ha - yes, it’s amazing the amount of food I find down my cleavage and bump! I’ve never been a messy eater so think it’s just because I can’t sit in at the table like I used to.
Margot – enjoy swimming this morning. Hope you manage to find some shorts!
Ally – 3 car seats in the back – must be very weird! Hope all goes well at consultant and they put your mind at ease.
Pirate Wife – enjoy your day visiting family. Glad the mw went well, don’t forget some babies don’t engage until the last minute so it’s not a bad thing.
Porkchop – enjoy the morning and the flopping in the afternoon sounds perfect. I have taken to plonking my feet in a bucket of water in the evening to cool me down.
Twink – I defo found the tiredness creeping back up on me, rest when you can Mrs!
Baby out vibes to all those who need/want them!
AFM – not a lot to report, I think the crazed hormonal woman may be making a return. I burst into tears twice last night both for absolutely stupid reasons. Poor H – he’s got a good time ahead of him until baby arrives.
17/07/2013 at 09:49
Thanks for the baby out vibes, I'm still here!
BG - I get crumbs on my bump and down my cleavage which means they then get trapped between my bump and clothes and its really itchy!
Margot - have a nice day off
Ally - good luck with it all!
PW - sounds like you have a lovely day planned, enjoy!
PC - I know the feeling! Hope you have a nice day
Twink - nice that you managed some extra sleep!
Sapphire - oh no, hope you're ok!
AFM - well due date is today and still no sign of baby. Got my sweep booked with my midwife this afternoon so I'm hoping that starts moving things along although I'm feeling quite doubtful. Will try and pop back on later with an update. Had to put a message to everyone on Facebook today to day I will no longer reply to the "any twinges?" Messages I've been getting as its driving me mad! Especially the MIL, I'm sure she thinks we'll forget to tell them when it's here!
Hope you all have a good day!
17/07/2013 at 10:57
BG sounds like your training may come in useful! I have a tendency to spill some of each and every meal on the bump - have taken to resting my plate on top of bump to get the plate closer to my mouth lol!
Margot this weather is awful for the kids isn't it - lovely for them to play in but we're finding bedtime an absolute nightmare.
PC I'm so with you on being over it. Bring on the babies I say!!
Twink you're finishing work a little earlier now aren't you? Bet you can't wait! I'd hate to be working in this weather.
Sapphire just go with it if you feel like you need to cry, I go through phases where for a day or two all I want to do is bawl, then it goes and I'm ok again. Hormones have a lot to answer for!
Twinkletoes happy due date! :) Hope the sweep helps to get things moving.
AFM - due a week tomorrow and I just want to get this show on the road now. I know that I should be making the most of this last bit of time of it just being us three, but I am soooo uncomfortable I just want baby here. I think I need to try to organise a few things to do over the next few days to help the time go more quickly. My sister and I will be going for a leisurely lunch tomorrow as both our kids are at their last day at pre school before the summer hols. Then all hell really will let loose when I've got a very busy 3.5yr old boy to entertain every day too, sob!!!
17/07/2013 at 11:03
What a lot to reply to already! I suppose I should start with baby-out vibes to those who want/need them!
BG - I find I get 'magic' stains of food etc that appear on my bump, but the underside bit where I can't really see it. I suspect my toddler may be partially involved in that. Cleavage is normal crumb-resting place. I remember when my son was newborn there was many an occasion when he had toast crumbs on his head/in his hair. I felt bad only the first couple of times it happened.....
Margot -enjoy your day off. Maybe have a nice sit-down with a crappy magazine, that always feels a treat when I have time to myself
Ally - the end is in sight! Try not to worry too much. At least this will be the last time you have to do this. No?
PW - enjoy your pedicure and your visiting, sounds like a busy day!
Porkchop - hopefully you won't have long to go now? Just think of it as extra cake time? I find afternoons very sweaty (tmi) so a flop around is ideal.
TWink - you can never have enough sleep I reckon!
Sapphire - bloody hormones. Still, better they are the crying type ones and not the manic mood swing ones?
TT - people asking about twinges etc are very annoying. On my due week I am basically going to go into hiding so nobody asks. I am having an elective anyway, so probably won't mention anything until just before I go into theatre or something. Not decided yet. Hopefully sweep will help things along a bit. Maybe a scrub of the floor on hands and knees will help? Or anything bouncy. I would NOT have a curry. I don't think it helps, plus, if you poo in labour, won't it be all curry smelling? Lol. Sorry, but these are things I think about!
Me - well, off to nursery soon to join son for a teddy bears picnic. I think it will be inside. Been told I don't need to bring anything, which worries me slightly as to what we will eat? After that a laze about at home as its too hot in the afternoons to go out. Hopefully my son will nap. And at a reasonable time. Yesterday he wouldn't sleep until 3.25 and he slept until 6.15, so we had a very late night! It was nice though as we had pizza for tea and we sat and ate in the garden as it had cooled down. It was cute that he pointed out he could see the moon. I thought he meant the sun where it was reflecting on the window, but I looked in the sky and you could see the moon. Hubby then tells him about Neil Armstrong, and next thing I know he is showing him clips on YouTube of moon landings and explaining about all kinds of things to do with space. Our son is 2.
17/07/2013 at 11:09
Dinx - you snuck in as I was writing my post!
It really isn't too much longer now, and hopefully the nice weather will help your son be entertained by just running round outside? Maybe make the most of the time together before baby comes. I have taken my boy out most mornings to the park or shops and sat and had a drink and cake or something with him.

I'm still here ! Zoe has gone off to Grandma's for a few days to give me a break seen as they finished school a week earlier than I thought. Doh. I've just been up to the shops to try and get a couple of maxi dresses that would work with breastfeeding (eek, check me out, still haven't commited to it yet). My friend recommended the bandeau belted ones from New Look and wearing a little shrug cardy with them so you can wear a normal bra. Was rather disappointed that the biggest size was a 10, don't think I'd fit one boob in that, so looks like I was right all along and New Look is only for young skinny people.
Am going to relax with my feet up for the rest of the day knowing that I don't actually have to do anything and won't get talked at constantly like when Zoe is around.

dinx yep finish at 36+6 now rather than 37+6. stil 4 weeks on friday though :(
17/07/2013 at 13:16
I'm melting today. It's about 27c here and I can't get comfy.
BG - It's amazing what I find inside my tops. And I'm constantly spilling things down me now. Bump is just too big.
Margot - hope you find some clothes to wear. They had some nice tunic type tops in Tesco when I was in this morning. I only saw them on the way out so might go get some tomorrow.
Ally - Hope appointment went well.
PW - Pedicure sounds lovely and have a nice lunch with your mum
PC - nearly there. Hope you don't get too hot today.
Twink - I could sleep all day at the moment.
Sapphire - Poor you. Haven't reached that stage again yet.
TT - I hated that "any twinges" stuff too. I had to tell my sil who text everyday after dd last date that please stop it. You're family. you will be among the first to know. There was no way I could handle 11days of that! Lots of baby out vibes xxx
Dinx - entertaining your son will keep you busy. Enjoy your lucnh with your sister
IDC - Bless your H. Quite cute though.
JB - enjoy putting your feet up in peace.
AFM - not alot to report. Saw MW yesterday who says all is well. Bump measured a bit under this week which is odd. At least I'm on track for an average sized baby and not another monster. Tried to tidy the house this morning but keep needing to sit down as get the tightenings across bump. Had a weird dream the other night about going into labour and no one could have D. So glad my mum is down on Sunday to be here while H is away. His parents are useless. I'm trying to keep them in the loop by telling them about my MW appointments etc but I hear nothing back from them. I'm convinced I've offended them but not sure what I've done.
Time to go head out into the garden and sit in the shade until it's time to pick D up. She's doing a sponsored toddle today. Hope she doesn't get too hot.
