Morning ladies. Hope everyone's well today. Baby out vibes to all who need them.
AFM- as you may have seen from my other thread my appts went well. No sugar in wee although got gtt this morning. Only slight worry was my scan. Baby estimated to be 6lb10 already, belly way off the scale, head at the top. Apparently they like head to be further up scale than belly as otherwise it indicates a high risk of shoulder dystocia. Had another scan booked at 38 weeks if I make it that far! Have now accepted this one will be coming straight home so packed baby stuff in hospital bag yesterday. I'm the same gestation today as when Sammy came home!
in other news my mat cover has fractured 3 vertebrae. He's ok but obviously off the road for some time which is a bit of a blow!
Have a good day all

Wh... Good news so far then.. Hope the gtt goes well today... Take a book with you!!
Afm.. Had the active birth sesh at the hospital last night.. Was very good for showing h things like massage and tips on breathing and keeping calm in first stages of labour.. Also tips to get bubba head down and ready to go.. Unfortunately we couldn't have the tour of the actual unit as it was full to capacity.. Lots of babies being born!
Will pop back later x

WH, hope the GTT goes ok and it's all negative. This one was estimated at 7lb-ish 2wks ago (after being 5lb-ish 2wks before that) so GOK how much he is now. I am actually now getting really concerned about shoulder dystocia - I had to have an episiotomy with C and she was 7lb8, so if this one is bigger..... I guess we won't find out until I actually go into labour though so I guess I just need to stay calm about it all.
AFM am WIDE AWAKE already which is really annoying as its my H's turn to do the nursery run while I have a lie in! this morning I'm seeing my mum and gran and hopefully buying some last minute bits in boots. Yesterday was v.productive and I got loads of sorting done but I've still got more to do! I need to speak to our mortgage company to see if they'll give us a payment holiday for a while - the girl I spoke to yesterday suggested that I could have one, but that they'd expect a lump sum payment covering all the missed payments at the end if the holiday?! Kind of makes it pointless, no?! We didn't have to go it with C, so I'm not sure what has changed.
Anyway, love to all who follow, will try to get back on later. bluewater 36+3 x

Missed you there bexy - what did they say about getting baby's head down and engaged? This one isn't engaged so far.....
03/04/2013 at 07:23
Bw... Walking up the stairs sideways like a crab, sleeping on the side that baby's back isn't on to encourage movement... Bouncing and going from side to side on the ball... Tried any of those? X

WH if they think baby is at risk of shoulder dystocia do they not offer a section? You have done really well getting this far after last time x
BB i did my active birth class last week and found it really good too.
BW always the way when you can lie in you cant sleep! Seems weird about the mortgage. Ours says you can take a holiday if you have enough credit through overpayments which makes more sense. We were told at our birth class that sitting on a birth ball and rocking is best way to get baby into good position
AFM first day of mat leave today!! Just thinking about getting up. G is going to childminder today so i can start getting things sorted!

Maisie! How lovely... hope day one is productive!! x

WH...glad everything's ok, from threads on here they aren't always right about the size so may not be a whopper! Hope tests are all clear today!
bexy...glad your class went well, great that you have lots of tips and ideas for getting baby in position already!
BW...typical, I always struggle to get out of bed but then struggle to sleep if offered a lay in too!! Enjoy your day out with your mum and gran today! No idea on the mortgage holiday but does seem pointless if you then have to pay it all off at the end!!
MM....enjoy your first day of ML, I'm on count down until mine (I finish on the 19th). Are you relaxing or have lots planned?
Afm... half term at the mo so busy times for me, just sorting out some contracts for after ML so nice to know I have some work to return to! Looks quite sunny out but weather forecast says otherwise so not made any plans for today yet! Baby wise all ok, still feeling rough, feel like I'm re living 1st tri! Finally got an appointment with my consultant booked in for 36 weeks to apparently definitely book my section after even more hassle trying to sort it yesterday!
Hope everyone has a good day!

WH - glad that your appointments went well and gtt is ok this morning. Despite your concerns about having a big baby it must be wonderful to think that the baby will be coming straight home with you after all you went through last time. Bad news about your mat cover - hope that your work manage to sort something
Bexy - good to hear that you learnt a lot from the active birth session. We have our class in a couple of weeks. Will you get another chance for a tour of the ward now?
BW - Isn't it always the way that you wake up when you have a chance for a lie in?! Stange about the mortgage holiday, I would speak to someone about that as surely it defeats the object of the holiday? I thought that they added the money onto the mortgage term or your monthly repayments when the holiday is over until you have paid it back. Perhaps an IFA can help you. Have fun with your mum and nan today.
MM - Yay to day one of Mat leave! Hope that you have a good day
AFM - still suffering from a sore throat and stuffy nose which is no fun. I am never ill and since being pregnant I seem to be catching everything going. Damn this cold weather. Spent most of last night getting quotes to have our driveway done before baby arrives as we currently have gravel which I have hated since we moved in and see being a nightmare with a buggy. I am still in shock this morning about how expensive it is! We have spent so much on the house recently but all worth it as am feeling a lot happier that all the jobs we have put off for so long have now been done. Don't think H would agree though as all he sees is the savings going down!
Hope that everyone has a good day. Will pop back later x

Missed you there Libby - glad that you managed to get your appointment booked. It's very sunny here too but freezing once you get outside!

WH - hope the GTT goes well and all comes back negative. Must seem strange knowing you'll bring the baby straight home this time!
Bexy - I never attended active birth classes, sounds like it was pretty useful. WIll you get another opportunity to tour the labour ward?
BW - Im waking stupidly early as well, so annoying! That sounds strange re the mortgage break, I;m sure it's the woman who got it wrong. As you say, what would be the point if that was the case? We really need to decide if we are taking one this time. We did with no 1 but didn't with no 2.
MM - enjoy your first day of maternity leave especially as it's child free as well!
Libby - what a pain about booking your section date. Hopefully it will all get sorted at the 36 week appt.
AFM, i woke up with a stinking cold yesterday and still feel really rough today. I;m having oil delivered and hopefully the oven repaired today so it's a day at home for all of us today I think. I had my consultant appt yesterday which went really well. I saw a registrar but he was really lovely (they have been hit and miss in the past) , explained lots of things to me, reassured me on all my concerns etc and most importantly booked me in for my CS without a fight!! It's still a long old slog but at least I have a date to focus on now. I;m going to keep the date a secret (but will let my PP know) but you'll be bale to work how roughly when it is! We then had to get a plan in place for the kids for the day. Despite my family living in the same town and my parents being half a mile away I will get zero help from them but thankfully H's mum and dad have agreed to come despite living 700 miles away! So we will pay for their car hire and petrol to get them here.
We're off to Blusetone with the kids on Friday for a long weekend which I am looking forward to (assuming this bl**dy cold shifts). It will involve swimming though so I had to go for an emergency bikini wax yesterday - OMG it was frankly up there with last weeks internal in terms of pain!! Have still booked another for the day before my section though

WH - glad your appointments went well. Hope your replacement is not out of action for too long!!
bexy - glad the class was good, shame about the tour of the unit
BW - typical about the lie in, always end up waking up early!! No idea about the mortgage - hope they can give you more info so you can sort it out.
MM - enjoy your first day of maternity leave!!
Libby - sorry to hear you are feeling rough - glad you have got your consultant appointment sorted.
Ferbs - driveways are expensive things, we got some quotes to get ours done and nearly fell over - hope you manage to get something sorted, I am not sure I would fancy the idea of a buggy on gravel!
Morph - glad you had a positive appointment and have got the CS date sorted. I know what you mean about waxing, I swear mine is 10 times more painful since I have been pregnant!
AFM - I am shattered - a day in Londonr eally takes it out of me these days. Slept in fits and dtarts last night, my pelvis is really painfula t the moment and I also woke of 4 times with cramp in my calf, not fun!! At least I am working from home today and waiting for deliveries of the pram, car seat etc - so exciting opening of parcels later!!!
03/04/2013 at 12:52
Back for more...
libby....awww sorry the first tri symptoms are back..
Ferbs...hope that cold and sore throat dissapears soon....are you getting plenty of vit c?
Morph - im wondering whether to brave a wax!!! i dont feel anymore positive about it now!
Ferbs and Morph - i dont get another tour of the unit i dont think but i am back to hopsital for another scan in a few weeks and the Mw said i could ask then for a tour...
Al...hope the pain of the pelvis eases soon...yay to working at home...how many more london days left?
03/04/2013 at 16:19
WH - How was the GTT? Great that you've packed coming home bits in your bag. Bit of a bummer about your mat cover!
Bexy - The class sounds good!
BW - That sounds strange about the payment holiday, hope you got it sorted! I've not looked in to it before but it's something we've talked about quite a few times! I don't think you need to worry about getting baby engaged if its head down, second babies often don't engage until labour!
MM - Yay for mat leave!
Libby - Hope you get that csection date soon!!
Ferbs - Sounds like you've done loads to the house! Nesting already?!
Morph - A bikini wax?! Are you mad?! Glad you've got your section date!
Al - When can you stop with the London travel? Please don't burn out! Yay for deliveries!
AFM - Eventful day! Went for 38 week app with the GP this morning. BP was sky high but no protein in wee. Diagnosed another chest infection so I have more Amoxicillin and another inhaler. Also GP thought baby was breech again. Cue her ringing the hosp and telling us to go down for monitoring and BP checks! Had to get dad out of work to watch N and then head to the hospital. Thankfully BP was back down to what it should be straight away but they still had me on the monitor for an hour, they were sure baby is head down but did a quick scan to check and thankfully the GP had made a mistake (!) and baby is in exactly the correct position. Stressful day though! What with that and the chest infection it's been a mad day! We had to get all bags/seat into car just in case! Plan is for another BP check at MW next Wednesday and just wait for baby to come now. Drama eh!
Happy to be home with a cuppa and some choc cake now. N is being really cuddly so I think he sensed some drama this morning!
03/04/2013 at 16:28
Wow Hep you are really going through it!!
Al not sure if you saw my reply yesterday but we must have worked really close by as i am just off the Strand!!
03/04/2013 at 16:34
Hep - thank goodness all is ok with your BP and baby. Boo to the chest infection though - hope you are feeling better very soon. Baby out vibes heading your way if you want them!! I only have 2 more days in London, and 10 more working days in total, so not too bad!!
MM - My office is just off the Strand too, so have probably walked past each other before - small world eh!!
Morph - glad that you've managed to get a section date. I have found that waxing hurts even more whilst pregnant.
Al - hope that your pelvis pain has eased up a bit after some rest and that your packages arrived!
Hep - wow what a day you have had, with all that rushing about no wonder your BP was high! Glad that all is fine and GP was wrong about baby being breech. Cuppa and choc cake will no doubt make it all better! Don't know if I am quite nesting or just rushing about in blind panic to get everything done as have been so disorganised this far!
03/04/2013 at 16:40
Thanks girls, this baby is definitely a pickle that's for sure! Baby out vibes very much appreciated!!
Al, 10 more days till mat leave, that's great!!!
Ferbs, sounds like nesting to me!
