It's a gorgeous day here today, I hope it is where you all are!
I've been for a swim this morning and I'm about to make some brownies. We're going to a friends later for a BBQ and I said I'd take desert. Mmmmmm brownies!! I'm not sure if they'll keep that long!!
I'm feeling loads better still, so this is now 2 days of feeliborn early normal. Human again.

Hi Imp, Mmmmm brownies :-). Enjoy the BBQ
Bon jovi were fantastic last night. Kaiser Chefs and Bush were support acts and both good too. Kaiser chefs played for about an hour and Bon jovi played for 3 hours, so I was pretty shattered by the end. Was a gorgeous evening weather wise.
Having a lazy day today (my parents who babysat last night, have taken LO out this morning!) and I am off on a 14mile endurance ride on horsey tomorrow!

Mmmm brownies!! I love brownies. I sent hubby out to the shops for brunch-ingedients... which I'd seen this early enough to order brownie ingredients too! You are good being up and active so early as well - I didn't get out of bed until 10.30! Enjoy your BBQ.
Sounds like you deserve a lazy day today HF after a late night - save the energy for tomorrow! What sort of speeds do you tend to do? Is it a PR or competitive? I'm really missing riding now - today is perfect beach riding weather! My riding horse has been on loan for 3 months now - I think it's the longest I've gone without riding in the last 22 years, even when I had 1 year without owning a horse, I rode a couple of times a week. Very strange!
It is sooooo hot here. I had good intentions to do some gardening, but it's too hot to be outside for long. I've got some jobs to do at the yard so will wait until it's cooled right down later. H is just cooking brunch, and then I think I'll carry on painting some nursery furniture. We had an ikea trip last night and bought some drawers and another storage unit which will all need painting as well, and a rug. Plasterer booked for 8th August and then we can crack on properly!

Imp- glad to hear you are feeling better. Saw yesterday you managed to book a massage, I agree that its worth the cost. Everything our bodies are going through at the moment, it need a bit of pampering!
HF- Glad you enjoyed the evening! 3 hours is pretty impressive for a band to play!!
Mrs50's- ive had trouble dealing with the heat too, usually love it but cant be in it for too long!
AFM- my pamper session yday was brilliant!! I lay on my side and got a big pillow to cuddle as she massaged my back! was so relaxing and I stayed up until midnight last night!!
Its my friends birthday BBQ today! Already drenched myelf in sun lotion. Going to take a big sun hat and lots of water too! luckily one of his friends lives across the road from the park we are going to so I have a loo on hand! My bestie is comming too and its the first time ive seen her since she got engaged! So excited!
The plan after the picnic is to head home and change before heading out again this evening! Not sure how late I'll manage, might have a lie down when we come back!!

Hf it sounds like you had a great day/night, e joy your well deserved lazy day today.
Mrs 50's, I'm not sure if you saw my question on the nursery thread- what type of paint do you use on the furniture? Enjoy your brunch, are you having anything nice?
Mrs bass, enjoy seeing your friends and the BBQ in the sunshine. Good job you've got a loo close by, I'm not sure I'd cope otherwise! Glad you enjoyed your massage, I'm really looking forward to mine.
Brownies are out of the oven and now cooling. They smell amazing!
06/07/2013 at 14:03
I've replied in the nursery thread - I'd typed a reply but not hit send. Doh! We had a bit of a naugty fry up - fried egg, bacon, sausage, beans and potato waffle. Lush! No wonder I'm not hungry now!
Mrs Bass, hope there's some shade but BBQ sounds lovely. Definitely prescribe a nap between outings!!

Ooh I do actually have some proper news as well - my maternity cover has been sorted, and my boss has agreed that she can start a fortnight before I finish so we'll have a great opportunity to hand over. It's also the girl who I took over from - she hates her new job and wants to come back - so I think it'll work REALLY well. Very pleased - and relieved!
I've got 36 working days left - OMG how did that happen?!
06/07/2013 at 15:39
Apologies for the lack of personals, but I don't have 2 brain cells to rub together at the mo. back from Thailand after a mammoth 24 hour journey. Are you all glad I brought the sunshine back with me? I've been to see Dad and step mum to tell them our baby news and they are over the moon, we have got out of seeing OH folks to tell them as they took advantage of the weather and have gone away.
I am now sat with my feet up on the sofa watching the Tour de France, I have cankles ladies, cankles!
06/07/2013 at 16:18
So sorry for being awol! The new house is kind of taking over, along with work and suffering from severe hayfever.. Nothing is working! :-(
Going ikea shopping tomorrow and have managed to persuade hubby to go to the Mamas and papas outlet as well as on the search for our bugaboo!
Two weeks on monday until our 20 week scan, cant wait!
Hope your all ok, I promise to be a better Mumdrummer from now on!
Enjoy the sunny weekend!

A flying visit on my phone so no personals but I hope you're all enjoying your weekend. I've been working at the school fair this afternoon and have raised a small fortune with hook a teddy but have also half boiled myself I think! Just fooling down on the sofa (in my knickers, how glam) and then I'll be getting ready to go out tonight - hubby and I are going here: www.theboilershopsteamer.com/.../friday-5th-and-saturday-6th-july hopefully they can cater for those of us who can't drink!
06/07/2013 at 18:47
On my phone so no personals sorry but i think I've cooked today! Had so much planned and ended up doing less than half of it, was just too hot!
Got the car loaded for trying a car boot tomorrow, just hope people come now!!!!

Imp - hope you're enjoying your BBQ - and the brownies! Save me one ;-)
HF - I am jealous of your night last night, sounds awesome. Enjoy your ride tomorrow.
Mrs 50's - what type of paint have you bought? And 36 working days?? Eeeeek!!
Mrs Bass - hope you had a lovely day today and that you're not too tired this evening.
Mrs P - thanks for bringing the sun back :-). Oh dear, hope the cankles go down soon - I wonder if they are related to the all the travelling?
Hey Gemini, is it definitely a bugaboo you're going to get? I'm so confused by pram choices, I have no idea what to get. Yay, two weeks is no time at all :-)
TT, that event looks good, hope you're enjoying it
Jem - hope you make some money tomorrow x
AFM - well, I've not been around as much as normal so this might be a bit long......!
So, I've done one week at the new job. I had a bit of a wobble mid-week when I was feeling a bit dizzy and sicky, cos if I had stayed at my old job my H could have looked after me but instead I was in an office full of strangers. But it's ok, I'm starting to get to know people and hopefully I'll feel more comfortable soon. My line manager, MD, and the girl I sit next to all know that I'm pregnant. In two weeks the boss is taking everyone out for dinner and drinks in town and I don't wanna go - I don't really know them yet, by all accounts they will all be very drunk, and it's on a Friday night and my fatigue is still terrible so I'll be knackered. Plus it's in a posh bar/ club in Kensington and I have nothing (that still fits) that is suitably posh to wear!
We've decided to paint the nursery, plus a few other rooms in the house. H and I can't decide on the decoration so we're having a battle of the tester paint pots at the mo! We're probably also getting new carpet, on the recommendation of my BF, who is a nursery nurse, and said that because our carpet has probably been in the house for 20 years or more, and is unloved and not massively clean, it's best to get a nice new clean carpet for any room where the baby might be near the floor. She said that it's also ok to get them deep-cleaned, but, honestly - there's no point doing that with ours, it all needs to get ripped up and replaced.
We went to see H's nan today and she told me all about how H's mum was born - H's grandad helped deliver H's mum at home, because the midwife was stuck in snow, and they also couldn't get to the hospital because of snow! That made me panic a bit seeing as this baby is due at Christmas and then H reminded me that it never actually snows at Christmas so that made me feel a bit better ;-). But then she also decided to imply that if I'm thinking about going back to work then I may as well not bother having children. I guess that's a generational thing though, I don't *think* she meant to come across as mean.....
I've had a pounding headache for about two weeks now and it's really getting me down. I'm drinking plenty of water but that doesn't seem to be helping :-(.
Early start for me tomorrow - I'm watching my friends do Race for Life, which starts at 9am, and I live an hour away from them. I'm dreading my alarm going off already!
Well that really is enough about me - hope everyone has a lovely Sunday!
06/07/2013 at 22:54
Penny, I've been suffering with headaches as well even though I'm drinking more than I thought possible! I realised it's because I'm sleeping differently so getting the pain from my neck and shoulders then it just sits over my eye. Have you changed the way you sleep at all? just thought maybe a new pillow or something might be worth a try... Otherwise might have to chalk it up to hormones!! Can't believe how much effect they're having. I hope the new job keeps getting better, wrt the dinner and drinks I'd be tempted to see how I got on the next couple of weeks, might be worth just going for the meal and leaving early if you're up to a couple of hours, at least they know why you wouldnt stay.
06/07/2013 at 23:06
Yes I have, I'm now sleeping on my left side instead of my back as apparently sleeping on your left is good for the baby, or so I'm told. Maybe its that. But its probably those pesky hormones, like you say. You're right about the work do too - there's no way I'm staying til the end but at least I have a good excuse :-)
Right, bedtime for me otherwise I'll never get up on time x
07/07/2013 at 07:46
Mrs 50's how exciting about your mat leave, it sounds ideal. Not long left either?!
Mrs P, welcome home! Plenty of test for you now. What did you decide to do about a scan?
Gemini sorry about the hayfever, it's a bugger isn't it?! Enjoy your shopping trip. Which bugaboo are you after? Have you seen the new buffalo that's coming out in September?
Tt I hope you enjoyer your night out, the link looks fab.
Jem I hope the car boot goes well today, it's lonely weather so at least the rain isn't going to put people off.
Penny, good to see you here. Really glad your first week had gone well and I'm sure you'll be settled in mo time. Starting a new job can always feel a bit lonely, I'm sure it you go on the night out for a few hours they'll make you feel welcome. I've Beth getting headaches too, mine serm very linked to tiredness. So if I'm tired, I get a headache. I've been drinking gallons of water, using the 4head stick, and as a last resort taking paracetamol. Sometimes they get so bad I've got no choice.
Well, the brownies were a success, although they were a little gooey still ( good/bad?!) do could of done with an extra 5/10 minutes in the oven I think. Had a great day all round and got a lovely day planned today too. I hope everyone else has a great day.
07/07/2013 at 10:30
Thanks Imp, haven't decided for certain, but think we might wait until the 20 week scan. The sense of panic has passed and I'm taking feeling well as part of the 2nd tri glow rather than something wrong. And gooey brownies....yum yum! X
07/07/2013 at 12:35
I have no idea why I typed BBQ, it was a picnic! We all took so much food! I was a great afternoon and i was so glad there was access to a loo!
I was tired when we went home to change but i got a second wind! Had a really good night, i even treated myself to half a pint of cider! My midwife said i could have upto 2 glasses of wine a week and i havent had any booze (except for the odd sip) since I found out i was pregnant so I figured a little cider would be ok! I was up heading on to the club with everyone too but my H and friends fiance were pi$$ed and she was tired so we ended up heading home at midnight!
Going to have a lazy day in the sun and get myself ready for the new job tomorrow! eeks! still havent decided when to break the news to them but Ive written a whole other thread about that!
Welcome back Mrs P, glad you had a great holiday!
Hi Gemini- I sympathise with you on the hayfever! Im sneezing all over the place!
TT that sounds like a great night, did u have fun?
Jem hope you had fun at the car boot, did u make much?
Penny- apart from the midweek wobble, i hope the first week has gone well! I read something that the baby lies ontop of a important verin/vessle and when its bigger, if you lie on your back it can squash it and stop the blood flow which is why you should start sleeping on your side. Apparently the lesf is preferable but im not sure why! I sleep on my left side anyway!
Imp- gooey brownies are good! I made some cinnamon swirls yesterday I think I might eat the rest of them today!
Enjoy another sunny day ladies!!
07/07/2013 at 14:21
Well I froze at the boot sale this morning, we had a pitch in the shade so kept cool all morning, too hot now so there's no pleasing some people!!! Made just under £35 once I'd paid the pitch fee which wasn't too bad so that's gone straight into the pot for baby stuff. still got a couple of boxes of things left but not worth doing another boot sale and ebay is a total pita so not sure what to do with it!!!
Hope everyone is enjoying their day and not too hot
07/07/2013 at 15:19
We had a lovely night at the Steamer, music and food were good but most importantly there was a tea and cake stall so I was able to achieve my ambition of a Saturday night out with a cup of earl grey and a lemon cake!
Been to a baby nearly new sale this morning, it was heaving but we came away with lots of bargains - all of this for £40! Sorry I have no idea why it's sideways.
07/07/2013 at 16:18
Sounds like a success jem! While clearing out my wardrobe Ive got a pile of good quality stuff, some never worn and labels still on, but I can't be bothered with ebay Im just taking it all to the charity shop!
TT- earl grey and lemon cake sounds perfect! That is a bargain for £40! was it a NCT sale? Ive heard they are great for bargains!
